Being close to Valdis feels a little like being too close to a fire. It’s more than a little uncomfortable. “Val, can you hear me?” she asks. She starts to fear the worse as she sees energy pour from her skin.

And there’s not much she can do when Valdis wraps her hands around her neck. She flails a bit, struggling to breath. However, she’s never been all that strong. And against someone with youma-like abilities, she doesn’t stand much of a chance. Was it really about to end here? Her vision begins to narrow a bit like closing doors on her consciousness.

She’s fairly disoriented when Valdis lets her go. She drops to the ground and struggles to regain her breath again. The world seems to tilt back and forth from a combination of exhaustion and being choked.

She nods as Valdis mumbles “I’m sorry.” She tries to get up, but her body feels heavy at this point, so she opts to sit down for some time longer. She makes a mental note not to comfort Valdis when she is doing that thing again.

Lance looks at the spectacle before him with a completely neutral expression he as whatever internal stuggle or whatever was going on he wondered if the girl of the monster would triumph...he wondered why he cared. uggh this transformation must be making something go wrong in my head. Lance thinks to himself, but at the struggle dies down he decides to just leave it be. If she did turn into a monster he'd deal with her then.

Though when Sophia collapses he lets out a grunt. "No time to be sitting there Kiddo." He says as he suddenly reaches down and picks her up. As he does Lance's Emotion Control begins to emit from him: Harmony. A sense of peace, tranquility and comradarie seem to emanate out from him as he begins to lug the girl away from the scene.

"You aren't gonna be anymore help here and the last thing we need to happen is for you to get caught when those military goon come back." he explains and as he walks away carrying her. Though before he gets out of ear shot he turns to Nazo. "Sorry for attacking you earlier, though I will say that while it's not Chaos energy there is definitely something off about you, and in more ways than your cloths and actions. If you expect us to trust and fight beside you, at some point you should extend the same trust to this group." He says then as he walks off.

"Also take a bit of a break and help the crazy chick! I can hold the city together for at least a little while." He calls.

His worry only increased when Valdis seemed to being to crack like a pot. He looked back over at Sophia with a skeptical look. Val was one of the last people he'd trust completely.

"Why?"

He sweat dropped when she fluffed his hair...well that was as friend zoned as you get. He watched as Nazo healed himself; acting way to casual about the whole thing then a person ought to....He could see why Val got along with him so well. They were both in the strange and odd boat. But he had saved them from dealing with the military, something which they defiantly couldn't handle at the moment.

"Thank you Nazo; we owe you one..."

He looked back at Val, not really taking his sight off of her for to long. She was still a youma, and still a threat. After all after Nazo disappeared in that Scorpio attack Val had lost it.

"I'm actually surprised she's doing something with that ghost...after you disappeared she lost it and went all obliterate him mode. She helped supply the energy for both Sophias healing the first time and that last attack...Plus that huge fire bird attack....we're all wiped I have to wonder what the heck she's running off of now....ummm Sophia...is that"

He paled as he noticed Sophia had gone over to Val and was hugging the girl, only for Val to suddenly lash out. With a burst of speed he ran over; but by the time he got over to her Val had dropped her as if she burned. He turned his focus back to Sophia.

"Are you alright?"

There was little he could do when the other male bent down and picked Sophia up, but he felt as though he could trust him to get the girl to safety. He would check on Sophia later but for now he turned his attention back to Valdis. He was surprised to see her having turned back to normal..and down she went...He looked back at Nazo and with a serious face...

"NOT IT"

He turns and runs.....he didn't want to be around crazy queen of whack jobs when she awoke.

Kail seeing that most of the others got away he saw that Valdis had entered some kind of trance. He hears Kenny run off in terror and such and after that hears Nazo speaking. Then sees Valdis pass out and hears that a air strike was going to happen. This made Kail really wake up out of the haze of being drained. "Well damn it all ta hell" he cursed and willed his body to move again. It reacted the best that it could due to what happened to him. Kail ran as quickly as he could and got to Valdis and lifted her into his arms. "Rest for now" as the redhead's arms burned out of being so over used. Turning in one direction, Exia ran like a bat out of hell and back to his house avoiding as many people as he could.

"Valor certainly isn't part of his virtues..." Nazo grumbles as Mercury Knight runs off like the coward he was. He then faces to where Lance made a mention to come clean about himself and gave him no reaction: they would all learn what they needed to in time regardless. There was no need for a feel good session and sharing secrets with team friends and hugs. As he sees Killian carry Valdis off, it was probably better for the short term: Nazo didn't exactly have a luxurious house and condo he could let Valdis rest at.

As Scorpio's spirit releases it's hold on the Earth, a couple of objects manifest on the ground near his body: a small ornament of red stone and gold that had glyphs in an unknown language on it, and a double bladed longsword with a purple gem in the hilt. Nazo at this point pauses and waits for the couple of remaining people to depart.

David squinted, the lopsided, exaggerated stance of the Duke staring down Bruce Dern emphasized with the nasty looking assault rifle still cradled protectively in his hands. As Nazo pulled himself and Valdis together, Yinko flinched. Did they say air strike? Looking up, he could hear the roar of two pairs of GE turbofans, the red and green navigation lights of a pair of exported F-15's closing in. He started from his stance, twitching as he glanced around. If they were using laser-guided munitions for a precision strike, either the aircraft would be painting them via infrared, or...

Or another JSDF operator who hadn't completely retreated was hiding within line of sight, illuminating them for the orbiting strike package above. He'd have a partner with him like a scout-sniper team to provide covering fire, meaning they weren't out of the woods yet.

Watching the spectacle unfold, Valdis lashing out, Kail hauling her up to retreat, and Fish-Boy running for his perverted life, Yinko pulled away from the group. He knew it was a bad idea, knew he should have retreated, but something caught his eye. Next to Scorpio's remains, there was a longsword, a nice one-and-a-half handed example of Medieval martial arts before the Renaissance and the switch to rapiers. Turning to the weapon, he hefted it in his hands, noticing, of all things, a familiar pattern. The sense of deja-vu ticked the back of his mind.

Looking back to Sophia, he also grabbed the gem, taking them with him as he filled in the right flank of the group, keeping his head on a swivel for other enemy assets in place.

The Sirens ring as more military personnel approach, with no other items of points of interest on the battlefield. It was to the best interest of anyone remaining in the area to depart.
