Valdis took the time to look at the photo in the hospital room; so that was the confrontation between Kurio and the jumping bean that Sophia had mentioned to her. Frankly throwing boulders in a hospital even in self defense was extremely stupid. There really was no excuse for it. Then her father mentioned the assassination attempt upon himself, at this Valdis lips pursed into a frown. Sophia seemed just as shocked about this, apparently David hadn’t let her in on that little incident.
”First off father me and you need to have better communication since this is the first I’m hearing it from you. However that certain individual I do happen to know and the actions were not of his choice. He unfortunately use to be a civilian that was taken captive by the covenant; unfortunately unknown to him the covenant still had a hold over him. The covenant likes to get in the heads of people, those actions that day were of a higher covenant member aiming to take you out father. Hijacked his body if you will; when this became known to him he immediately took steps to rid himself of that threat. Had he known I doubt he would have come in range of you. His last aim was to harm anyone; and just in case I believe he’s making a point not to come within range of important people in case that happens again.”
Valdis sent a warning glare over in the direction of Kail; he was quickly stepping over the line of insulting instead of explaining. It was a look that said stop talking, Val had a feeling this would go smoother if Sophia did the talking. Sometimes emotion had no place in political debate, it often triggered a defensive response which cause the listener to shut his or her ears to reason.
”I can confirm the fact the covenant was here before we appeared; each of the covenant generals are placed in different sections of the world to oversee the collection of energy. Scorpio was placed here; he was one of the older generals and supposedly one of the ones that shouldn’t have been easy to take down. Japans been left as a central hub, the covenant from as I can tell see us like a hive of bees. They are letting us survive and produce the energy we need. Since Japan has taken a more submissive approach to the covenant we have basically become there domesticated bees. That’s why they have left Japan alone.”
She looked at her father this time her face matched his mask.
”That is why Japan has remained a safe haven; much like a hive we have only attacked when our direct home was threatened. While the covenant act as the bee keepers and take what we produce when we are not realizing it. They are treating us no differently then this; and quite frankly if we do stop antagonizing the covenant yes they will most likely leave us alone one more. A new Zodiac will take Scorpios place, and the others will go back to there assign places. You are correct in assuming more Zodiac are here. There are three from what I have run into, Taurus, Gemini, and Aquarius are all here. There are probably more but those are just the ones I have personally had contact with. As for the senshi or as the covenant has so delightfully named them ‘the short skirt squad’ there presence has caused more battles to take place within the city. Something which both the covenant and you father would like to avoid. They need there food supply to at least have a semblance of hope.”
“On another note if we continue to take the defensive approach the covenant will succeed in there plans and we’ll all just become mere pets, cattle if you will to those that use energy to feed off of. How ever I’m sure if the covenant does take over this little patch of ‘salvation’ as you call it will be left alone for the most part…that is if what the covenant is trying to do doesn’t destroy the planet all together.”
Valdis listened to her father’s statement on what he would do if he had been given powers like the others. She wondered if he felt as though she should have brought herself to the militaries attention; but then again that would ruin his image. But it now gave her an inside look on what was going on in his head.
”To answer your question father personally in your position with the knowledge that has been handed down to you I would do no differently. However in light of new knowledge on the reasoning behind why we have the Zodiac just calming observing I would have to step back and rethink the risk of my strategy. I would realize if I were to continue as planned that this would be as good surrendering my people to the covenant; but at the same time maintaining the image that I am on there side. Which frankly would be good to me in the short run. But the people who are under my care look for me to decided on how best to protect them; and in the light of new evidence I wouldn’t be able to take that route but proceed to change the route of action using new resources available aka the senshi. Seeing how the Senshi can handle the covenant better then any military resources I would use them to draw the battles away from the main city. I could go on to more detailed plans but I will save my breath for now”
When Kail turned around to attempt to use blackmail on her father the look that Valdis gave him could kill. He had stepped over the line in threatening her flesh and blood; they certainly would be having words after this was all said in done. She was defiantly unhappy with how he chose to proceed with this conversation; if that didn’t just ruin their chances then it would be a miracle. When she spoke next her gaze did not leave Kails.
”We will not sink to using blackmail to those that our fighting the same cause; but moving on we understand your concern to the … issue of control over the other members of the group. We recognize this as a problem; frankly we are as stated before mostly teenagers, and with that has come frankly a bit more rebellion then most organizations would have to deal with. Our inexperience has led us to be a bit laxed in the measures it would take to reign in such acts. Going forward I know a number of us realize that we need to buckle down and form a more cohesive group. Seeing how this is a large concern I offer you this deal. The senshi will be forced to choose a leader to fallow and establish a chain of command. If one should choose not to be one of the group or not fallow orders they will be classified as the enemy and will be forced to treat them as such despite our emotional attachment. In this way you would gain allies to both fight the covenant and deal with the vigilantly complex.”
Valdis looked over at Kail and Sophia knowing at least one of them may object to this reasoning. It was more then a bit extreme but in her eyes necessary.
”Some of our members have made it clear that they do not wish to work with the group as a whole or associate themselves with us. It is unfortunate but whether they are with us or not what they do is hurting our image. We have to establish our separation from them otherwise we cannot move forward. I think by now we have all had enough experience with one another to choose a chain of command”
Valdis looked back towards her father.
”Father as we stated before most of us our teenagers, we are young but recognize the need to ally our selves with those who have experience when dealing with this matters. We are looking to work with you to help guide the direction of our forces where they may be best put to use. Quite frankly I see this union as beneficial for both you and the group; we’ll be able to focus the attention away from the city like you wish, keeping the battle fronts away from the main population. Quite frankly the threat of the military personal has been what had kept us mostly in the city.”

"So recklessly allowing children who wield similar powers to the Covenant to wage combat within the city is a better option? Or vaporizing people who you suspect may be involved with the enemy? You make it sound as though it were as simple as letting your group act without restriction, inhibition, or concern and clean up in the aftermath. It's not that simple." Adoji retorts to Sophia's initial remarks. His expression remains businesslike as he listens to Sophia saying that the hospital attack would not have been provoked without a threat.
"The Lieutenant in question was recovering from wounds when he was accosted by the golden masked one. After the Lieutenant refused to answer any of his questions in the manner he wanted, he dropped a christian cross shaped rock on him, at which point the Lieutenant responded with force intending to apprehend him for the attack and on suspicion of being Covenant affiliated. After a small scuffle, other military personnel appeared armed properly unlike the Lieutenant but the masked man disappeared shortly after. This behavior isn't exactly...indicative of anything that resembled a 'righteous hero trying to do the right thing' by attacking a wounded officer." he pauses, but then nods once to Sophia. "I will however thank you for aiding the swift recovery of another serviceman." The stunned response on the Venus Senshi's face in reply about the assassination issue conveyed sincerity, which was noted, but the incident still happened regardless.
With the tail end of Sophia's expression, Adoji takes his glasses off and rubs the lenses with a cleaning cloth while he spoke next.
"It is an uncomfortable realization. Even with Covenant acting with the city, I want you to consider this. While it may be a grim truth that they have at least to this point held the power to frankly destroy humanity and it's been odd as to why they haven't done so or left Japan mostly alone, at this point I feel I have to provide the best life for my people as I can for as long as possible. Now...if say left status quo, we have ten years, which is a hypothetical number with no bearing on reality that I am personally aware of. But time of relative peace and a chance to develop some technology or ability that allows us to stand firm.
But with the vigilante group able to soundly defeat some people, then a response is provoked and a campaign from the Covenant to eliminate Japan is unleashed resulting in a year of war and ultimately extinction. What faith should I have that your group can go all the way and eliminate the Covenant entirely? Defeating Scorpio may be a significant accomplishment, but there would be many more conflicts. How do I know your group has the commitment and resolve to finish the job? The average young mind and soul cannot endure but so much bloodshed, pain, and responsibility. It is admittedly a tantalizing prospect to take any path that can lead to a guaranteed future, but I am not convinced yet that this is the correct route. I have to look at the big picture and not just the small ones." he says offering what he thought was a fair and valid concern to what he was thinking.
As the male vigilante began to speak, Adoji smiled slightly with his eyes closed.
"The SHOGUN systems have many safeguards in place, and they are not to be deployed in a civilian occupied earlier except under the worst of circumstances. Do you really think I will be letting these walking tanks run through Tokyo on patrol with guns blazing? Yes, these weapons will exist and be integrated into the SDF arsenal, though I feel you are mistaken about the power source and many things about the unit. The machines are as safe as can be. A power plant exploding or a chemical plant exploding in the industrial sector could cause just as much damage as any theoretical malfunction. Further, there are DNA, mental, and other locks that would mitigate hijacking risks, along with remote shutdown ability in the event of a rogue pilot. I fear you give us too little credit in our preparation. The Japanese people would not tolerate any sloppy work or preparation." he says, listening patiently as the male went on further. He would be foolish to not expect any sort of hostile reaction, especially out of a male. That is just nature.
"You drastically overestimate your own importance if you think the people of Japan would start a revolution of some sort. The people would have mixed feelings, some would support you, some would fear you, and some would hate you. In the scenario you described, this talk has already failed and you are already assuming that you have to act on your own, which in itself makes further talking useless and the fact you don't owe that respect or open mindedness would only confirm any reservations I have. Of course...if the trend continues, and half the city is destroyed I don't think gratitude is necessarily the first thought in the public's head." Adoji says with a deep sigh.
"Another assumption: that I am so attached to power that I would ignore what is in the benefit of my people. If the single act of stepping down would safeguard my people and the world itself, then I would do so happily and live a normal life watching my daughter blossom into a beautiful woman." he says, retorting the remarks that Kail seemed to imply that Adoji was attached to his own power.
When Valdis scolds him and explains the incident with Yinko, he sighs a little, rubbing his temple.
"I don't think 'Valdis dear, I nearly got my head popped off today' is appropriate dinner conversation especially when you already have much going on in your life. However, if what you say is true, that is incredibly concerning. This individual could be a potent, unwilling weapon of the Covenant."
Then Valdis dropped a large bomb...an explanation of energy, and bees, and other things that made even the president blink in disbelief, causing the mask to falter momentarily.
"That is a crazy theory, but it does make sense in a messed up sort of way. Do you have any sort of proof? We have never understood scientifically how that whole energy interaction thing is supposed to work. If that is true however...then that changes things." he says, showing that even he was willing to concede his opinion and beliefs if adequate reason to do so was presented. "Maybe if we understood how exactly this energy thing works, we can create a counter to it. We have only been able to use conventional technology and development up to this point, knowing that what we have is miles behind what the enemy could do with their paranormal powers." he says, scribbling some random notes down on a pad, that Valdis would see with a heading of 'To Grill the Science Department With'.
"Even if these...'senshi' as you call them...were more effective, they are still numbered what...a dozen? Give or take? There are millions of Covenant troopers to account for, and even cooperatively I feel like there needs to be more." he says calmly, then listening to the proposal of a command chain and the following conditions.
"That would be an improvement over the current situation but I would require that any and all efforts be taken to minimize the collateral damage. But if that does become the status going forward then I would much prefer that efforts be taken to convert rather than combat any dissidents." he says, then exhaling slightly.
"The confinement to the city is unavoidable...if I were one of them I would use the fact it was a populated area to make you think twice about any action. I hardly see a scenario where you could reliably get them miles through the city to the outskirts to use full force to eliminate them being realistic." he says, having at least enough sense to realize what an enemy would likely think. At the end of it all, he leans forward clasping his hands.
"To the three of you, I can only say this. Make me believe. Give me a reason that this could work, without endangering the millions of innocents as much as possible. Without making life for everyone else difficult with excessive collateral damage. Give me a reason to think that there is value to any sort of cooperation, as much as I'm certain my military staff will vehemently object."

| “No, we would agree to have restrictions placed on our activities so long as they were reasonable. We would prefer not to vaporize anyone, but many times, we have no choice. However, we wouldn’t act if it was only a suspicion of covenant activities. Mostly, there were easier, and less deadly, ways of starting a conversation if that was what was desired. This caused some confusion and apprehension on our end. However, I would like to put that behind us,” Sophia says in regard to the military’s past actions against them. There was no use on dwelling on it after all. The whole purpose of this was to forge something new.
“I would like to takes steps to make sure no other hostile actions are taken against you, any member of the military, or any civilian by our group. While I cannot hand this people over into you custody, we will deal with this matter internally. We don’t want to be some group that bullies others into what we want. We don’t want to be the Covenant in a different set of colors.” Maybe she was speaking mostly for herself here. If that proved to be true, well, she might as well run off and join the fight back in the states. However, she doesn’t really know what transpired in these events, and she still had faith that in companions meant the best for everyone. ‘Civilian that was taken captive by the Covenant’… that was David alright. There was that darkness in him. It was gone, wasn’t it? Perhaps, she ought to be keeping closer tabs on him to be on the safe side though.
“You can choose to develop your own technologies, but why waste more time? We are here. We are capable. And most of all we are willing to help. It’s the choice between putting faith in an uncertain future or putting in faith in a group that admittedly needs some work, but is effective.”
Sophia gives a look to Kail as he threatens the president. Not a glare, but something akin to disappointment. It is brief, and he may have missed it if he wasn’t paying attention.
As Valdis mentions of a chain of command and separating themselves from people who operated outside the group, Sophia can’t help but think of Lance. She didn’t want to throw him under the bus like that. Lance wasn’t a bad person. He even helped her leave the battle with Scorpio. “As for the separate entities, I am fine with any solution that doesn’t involve any violent action. I won’t hurt another person who fights the same battle as we do. If you simply want us to give a statement that they consider themselves separate from us, that is fine with me. As for the subject of leadership, a chain of command will be established. I believe Valdis can continue acting as liaison between us and you, and will tell you when that has been set.”
For once the president has said something that resonates with Sophia. In wholehearted agreement, she answers, “I would also like to see that people still have their homes to go back to. Minimizing collateral damage will be taken as a high priority among all of us. And yes, I would also like to avoid combat with dissidents. We have yet to figure out a way to successfully undo whatever has been done to them. However, we are open to hearing any suggestions on that front. It is our wish that all people be saved from the Covenant, including those who have been brainwashed by them. I would be very much interested to hear whether any progress has been made in that regard.”
Sophia straightens up her posture as the president clasps his hands together, wondering what kind of decision he had come to. Make him believe. She blinks before saying, “It is unfortunate for us to have to fight no matter your final decision, but I would like for us to at least be able to speak about recent developments in terms of the Covenant. What would be sufficient to make you believe?” She thinks for a few seconds. Perhaps, this situation required a bit more honesty. “The reason why this could work. The reason why it would be worth it. We hold the knowledge about how to destroy the Covenant. We do not have the methods as of yet but we are making strikes, and it is not something most people could do without this supernatural powers business. So, the reason why this could work is the basically we are the only ones who can make this work. That is why we cannot stop what we are doing.”

After the two withering glares from both girls Kail got the point and just shut up. He silently goes over what everyone said and sighed at the technological level of the Shogun. He was beyond furious and felt like he was being more of a problem then a help now. The red head clamps his hands together trying to control his inner fury and frustration. As the man had made a total fool and a idiot, or for him he did not have a better understanding of people. The other thought that rose to his head, was the only male plus his emotional power of passion were not a good mix. Kail wanted to wipe the smirk off of his face. Then the final straw happened when Valdis repermanded him on not using blackmail on people. His gaze turned to her and Kail was pissed at the fact that she did it to him with emotional blackmail. So he could not use it on the president just because it was daddy.
For now he tried to keep all of this on the back burner and try and keep himself in check again. Kail would have liked to take violent action against Lance and Kousuke, to try and get them in the group. But overall that would not work for the few memebers that they had. With Ito's last remark really wanted him to give him a piece of his mind. But bit his tounge and swallowed what he had in his mind down and try and make things right. "Venus is right on this.....I do not have the words to say on making you believing us. But I hope that our future actions may change things. So that you can put your trust in us" said Kail and then went silent again.

"We are children like you put it, we are not always going to make the best decisions but we have been put in a positioning where we have to learn to act with he maturity that is well beyond our years. We are wise enough to know that we are going to need help which is why we're coming to you...To further our argument you have created a safe haven in which the people do not have to deal with the covenant directly. The public is uneducated in how to deal with the covenant when it actually reaches them. So how can you expect teenagers no less to make the same decisions that your educated generals would make if put in the same position. You suffer your people to be ill educated in such a situation and then punish them for being so. We however are reaching out to rectify the lack of knowledge and attempting to rely on people who have been educated which is why we stand before you today. As for the attack on Kurio we are not defending the mask man, since that incident he has hopefully learn some hard lessons. From short interactions since then it seems he has had some sense talked into him... But I am of the opinion actions need to be taken to publicly show that such actions were regretted from the party in question."
She let her Dad continue, but sighed; half there issue was he was thinking they had much more time then they actually had. Frankly they had rode that horse of comfurtable lifestyle to its limit. When her father continued to doubt the commitment Valdis frowned and shook her head.
"First off...we are out of time for waiting, there is not hypothetical ten years left and that's a fact...Second each and every one of us in this room have lost loved ones to the covenant. We have had our homes destroyed and taken from us. Families have been ripped apart, individuals in our group have been tortured directly. More importantly however what binds us to our cause is not what the covenant has taken away...but what is left for us to protect. On a primal level we are all cornered and ready to fight tooth and nail to keep what we have left. Then too forge ahead to make a new future; while you hope to harness the technology to bring this planet back, we may have the ability to actually see it through. But we won't be able too get to that point if we are living in false hypothetical what if's"
The look in Valdis eyes became grim and tired...much to tired for her years.
"We have weeks maybe a month at the best...days if they get another large syphon of energy. Then its over, times out and we are not ready. I can sense it growing.... "
Valdis raised an eyebrow when the conversation turned to the idea of Japanese people pulling a revolution. She looked over at Kail and shook her head.
"He's right the people view us on the same plain as the covenant at the moment, if it wasn't for the rules and regulations of the government I can almost guarantee there would have already been a group of people out to solve the rogue senshi issue in there own way....and most likely with out the idea of capture and interrogate on their minds. In the eyes of the public we are just people who are destroying there homes in a battle they rather not take apart of."
Valdis face blanked as she blinked when her father announced that he rather watch her blossom into a beautiful woman. She turned her head and looked at him with a dead pan expression, and in a serious tone replied.
"If you step down I'm getting a sex change operation now..."
Valdis only raised her eyebrow at him when he explained why he hadn't told her, she crossed her arms across her chest really not buying that excuse.
"Quite honestly I don't see any issue in starting the conversation that way. You wern't to keen on me waiting to tell you about the whole covenant issues when they first popped up now were you. But yes it is concerning; but he at least has the sense too recognize he's a danger and is staying away from high profiled individuals. Although he claims to have had the problem rectified, I am still unaware of the details on how that took place or the effectiveness of it. The mark the covenant left on him is of a different sort of the ones I have been studying."
And BAM there went the mask, which meant they were starting to have an impact. Funny Sophia and Kail didn't want her poking her nose in this sort of business. However her small look of triumph was gone when he asked for proof.
"If I gave you the proof you ask for then that is it for me, I won't survive it. Although I am cable of doing it. However you could take my own transformation as proof; to do so I have to manipulate the same energy we are talking about. Everyone of the covenant is able to draw upon this energy and bend it to there wills...some better then others which then is what forms there ranks. But its the use of this energy that is separating the covenant from the senshi, while they are all tapping into one power source the senshi are relying on there own innate power at the moment...however if they could put into practice in combining there powers I think they would have a stronger impact. But to do that would take time...it comes easier to some then others."
She let her father talk and nodded to the points he had made, she agreed with most of the points he had made. Really she had nothing more to add to them. Except maybe a theoretical plan.
"Your operating on the thought of letting the covenant bring the battle here. We are like you said significantly out numbered. So we need to hit more strategically. I suggest we march on the citadel, both the Japanese and the American armies need to meet on this front. A portion of the Senshi group will accompany them...now to understand there are two entrances to the citadel. One which you already know about, and the other is in the youma realm; a place where the covenant are sent to learn to control the dark energies. Very dreary place... but anyways it has the citadel inverted into the realm. But its more heavily guarded, so we would need a few of our stronger more subtle members to march in from that side. IF we can break in and open the gates for the army above then we can swarm them and over take them like a colony of ants... Then with our combined force take down the red head witch...now if we can get someone on the inside prior to that, it would be ideal. However making it that far has many if factors and no one should put all there cookies in one basket."
She looked over at Kail, hopefully he would realize she was making plans for if she failed. The close call at the boats made her realized she would need to set up a few more fall back plans then if her ideal one should fail.
"But before we would or could march we'll need to take down a few more of the generals. Each time they fight us there taking a good portion of the energy away from there pool. Scorpio had put a dent in it while fighting us both times. Which buys us more time to gather our strength. Now a glimmer of hope is we may be able to convert a couple of the generals...I do not think all of them are in it for power to control the new world....I hope that we can convert some of the generals to our side...if we do that it may be our best chance....and I am more then sure that the covenant will be trying the same plan on us...I think if we can take the battle to them it will minimize casualties on our side. "

Adoji is quiet as he listens to the following words from the three young people in this room. As his hands form an arch that his chin rests on, his expression conveys little emotion to betray what was being thought of behind the glasses of the elder man. The thoughts of what was best for his people, best for the country, even the world itself. The comment about the sex change made him twitch, but he figured Valdis was just trying to act out per her personality.
This wasn't exactly what he had in mind when he came home tonight: to be compelled to a position where he has to think of the long reaching consequences of a completely unprecedented situation. It wasn't until Valdis finished her last dialogue that the older man would speak. He pushes back his chair and walks to a window, looking out where the night sky was, watching the frozen crystals of snow start to rain down from above.
"In all of human history, no civilized country or organization has had to deal with the challenges we have been handed in the past eight years. There is no precedent to rely on as a guide for decisions, and each group has had to manage as best they can. Some groups failed completely and have been erased off the Earth, some groups struggle to this day, and some groups are...lucky." he says, the term lucky having hints of sarcasm and contempt in the light of what Valdis had enlightened him upon.
He pulls his glasses off, and a cloth from his pocket as he begins to clean them. A gesture that Valdis might know meant he was in an intense thought process. The simple action was one of Adoji's tools to focus his mind on an important matter at hand.
"And once more, a leader is put in a position where he has no precedent. I am to decide apparently whether it is worth the calculated risk to make an outright offensive against the Covenant, which to this point every other continent and people have struggled to defend themselves. Also I am expected to decide whether it is worth a risk to put my people's fates at least partially in the hands of children whom wield powers that I do not understand, and honestly I do not trust even with the moving speeches given this night. My own daughter has affiliated with this group, and frankly it is because of that I might believe the sincerity. The thought of my own daughter entering a battle against a monster is unsettling." he says calmly, putting forward a few minutes of thought.
"You might not have the experience and wisdom to understand that this course of action, if decided upon would cost the country greatly in terms of both material and people. It is frankly an all or nothing course because once the offensive has begun, then I somehow doubt the enemy would lay off if say your group was wiped out and we tried to withdraw. I'm sure that any leader with a care for his people would have a heavy heart at literally commanding those that serve to die. My reluctance is hopefully at least understood, because it is not in the least something to take lightly." he says, pausing for a moment to replace his glasses, putting them on his head.
"However, that said, I also cannot ignore the fact that pacifism would only delay a certain death. The scenario seems outlandish, but it might also make sense. I do not understand all this supernatural hocus pocus that you seem to, the fine details of 'energy' and related subjects. If it is true, then to remain inactive is to just as certainly sign a death warrant to my people. It is then by that logic, the greatest probability of success would be to embark down this road of steel and blood, is it not? The very idea of attacking the citadel itself seems an impossible goal, like trying to bicycle to the moon with balloons attached to the chassis." he says, looking downcast as he folds his arms behind him, clasping his right wrist with his left hand.
"Let me be clear. I am not happy with the damage that has thus far been caused, both in infrastructure and military personnel whom have been injured or otherwise distressed. I recognize however that your group's actions have also had their benefits. If an arrangement goes forward, as we have discussed, I expect every reasonable action taken to minimize collateral damage." he says, stopping and turning to face the knight and senshi.
"This is my answer. I am not adverse to the prospect of cooperation, but the JSDF will not be subjugated to whatever your group deems to be correct in the event of an incident. Further, your group would be expected to understand and act accordingly when military personnel make a directive to minimize the danger to life, limb, and property. Long term, there is a lot of work to be done before any kind of full blown offensive were to take place, and before any JSDF equipment or personnel leave our country, Sapporo must be cleansed of the Obelisk and the enemy residing there. If we cannot accomplish that much, then attacking their headquarters is pointless. I cannot commit our country to a cause literally across the world when my people are subject to that risk." he says as he then gives both of them a hard stare.
"Let it be known, that the actions of your collective reflect upon each and every one of you, and I will protect the innocent citizens from your group even at the cost of your own lives, should you turn against us or proven to be traitor." he says, his tone having deepened to icy seriousness, before he then looks at the door.
"That is my final decision. Obviously, I cannot commit to this publicly at this time, and I will need to confer with my staff so I advise you to not try to chum up to the soldiers right now, should there be an incident. I have much to do now, far moreso than before I had company this evening. Far too much to figure out and never enough time. Valdis will show you out." he says, glancing at his daughter and then taking the seat he once had, opening his laptop and beginning to type furiously. Should Valdis linger and look over his shoulder, she would notice he was sending out emails to his personnel for a maximum priority meeting the next day, before she gets a dirty scowl from Adoji to show the guests out.

Well, this wasn’t the ending Sophia expected considering how tense the situation was when they first came in. She smiles excitedly even with all the stipulations on their cooperation. In truth, it was a reasonable deal. Whether the others would see it as such was a different issue. However, hopefully, they would see the benefits to abiding by this.
“We had no intention of issuing orders to the JSDF. Our main goal was to find some way to coordinate ourselves, so we are doing what best helps the situation whether that be fighting a youma or evacuating an area or so on. I think we will find things get done more efficiently and with less collateral damage this way. We will trust the JSDF in the analysis of the situation, and hopefully they can also trust us with regard to the information we provide about our own capabilities as well as our needs to properly fill our role whatever that may be. Ultimately, we acknowledge that we are not ready for full offensive either. There is a lot of work that needs to be done on own end, admittedly. But I believe the joint effort of us and the JSDF will be able to reclaim Sapporo for Japan from the Covenant with minimal lives lost,” she says. The last statement about being traitorous doesn’t faze her. She’s too much in a good mood from actually helping to accomplish something.
Following Prime Minister Adoji Ito to the door, she stops as she gets to the threshold. “By the way, I apologize for ambushing you this evening. We didn’t really know a better way to arrange this meeting. I look forward to our cooperation and future talks on these subjects,” she says, extending a hand. She felt like she should get a handshake. Handshakes make things feel more official.

Kail had stayed silent the entire thing and was now even unsure what to say even now. The young man was glad that he had a mask on right now. Or at least a partial one as the look on it was just pure confusion and some sense of being lost. Kail was glad that they were able to get the President on there side. But the entire time this was not day nor battle ground. As he was slowly fearing that he was not the smart one that he thought he was. A man with a plan and this shook him a bit, although he had to put his imput to what Sophia said. "......I have to agree with Sailor Venus on this. Although there will be a time when that liberation will happen and reclaim that area" he said. As Kail saw the President starting to type something up. He silently gets up, gives a slight bow and was going to get the heck out of there before Valdis could pull him aside. Kail was not in the right mind nor calm to have a argument. He wanted to leave and get some distance to calm himself and try and revaluate himself.

Well things certainly did start to take a turn for the better, it would seem her arguments were at least making the decision harder for her father. Her gaze tracked him as he got up to gaze out the window, only to give a small speech on how this never had to occur before, at that she scratched the back of her head…technically that wasn’t true….it just wasn’t a recorded part of history. Though then again if you wanted to get into the nitty gritty perhaps it was true there was not quite a situation exactly like this where one party had little to no information about the supernatural. Although as he went on she was surprised to learn her father was taking her for her word for once…She blinked a couple of times actually no expecting the turn of events or a scenario where he wasn’t questioning the truth of her words. What came next was even more surprising…he was basing his trust in this on her decision to affiliate with the group to begin with….he was basing such an important decision based on her judgment. Well…that was a bit…unsettling. She squirmed a bit this was a level of trust she never knew she had.
Valdis was already aware of the fact that this was to be an all or nothing; but evidence would prove that it very may well be there only hope. But it would seem that her father had agreed to work with the Senshi…and to move a country to fight. A solemn smile inched its way upon her face; things would only get more interesting from there. If there was a snake in the military, it would most certainly be shown when things turned to the offensive. But since her father was willing to listen now to this ‘hocus pocus’ there was perhaps a few more essential details that she would need to fill him in on.
When they were dismissed Valdis turned and looked directly at Kail with the most eerie smile on her face. There was still the matter of him trying to use blackmail in a political talk. She could tell he was inching to get the hell out of there, and for such good reason to. As they walked to the door however she turned to Sophia.
”It seems that went better than expected, I wasn’t expecting him to make a decision right then and there. But this does open a few more doors; I know the meeting with the American Government is coming up and since you’ve requested I stay out of that one I will be using that time to pursue another connection that I think may be useful. However I suggest both you and Kail brush up on your intel on the whole situation, I would ask Luna to shed some more light on the history and get a better explanation on how this energy works. You’ll be much more persuasive; I would also go to Rei and ask if she has any advice on how to explain the energy you use as well and the difference. If you can explain those things I think the next negotiation will go much smoother. That and the fact the American government is already fighting will make things go smoother as well….But be proud both of you we got a lot accomplished today; a whole country is being moved to take a stand and fight. The significance of that is almost overwhelming, now we just got to make sure it doesn’t get its knees chopped out from underneath it.”
As they got to the door Valdis turned her attention to Kail.
”You and I will have a talk later….but for now I will give you a ten second head start to run.”
She opened the door; and began to count down from ten, at the end of the countdown she let out a high pitched two note whistle. The sound of four very large dogs barking could be heard along with the sound of scrambling paws. As they ran up she pointed to the most likely out the door red head and told them to get him. Off the dogs went, pounds of furry revenge charging after the red head.

Kail hears the hounds on his tail, after hearing Valdis's revenge on him. Yes he fouled up and perhaps went too far. But he had his reasons to go that far, but right now he was no mood to deal with the hounds. The red head rarely used his powers over rage before as a emotional control. But instead he pulled out his dagger weapon and in a hushed tone used his Cinder Flare skill with the weapon. Not wanting to do any experiments with his powers right now. He then throws it in a arc aiming for the ground in front of the dog's path. His idea was to cause a steam smokescreen with the snow and his flaming blade. This was out of self defense for himself. Kail would have to apologize later to Valdis about what he did. There were a lot of issues he had to deal with. The dogs were not helping the situation for him. As soon as the dagger came back to Kail's hand. The red head would run as fast as he could to his car and drive out somewhere.
