It takes some time for Sophia to make her way to Shinjuku. However, now that she was close to the Hospital, she is almost running. She knows it would be odd for her to come by again on the day Kenji woke up after talking to Nazo about the boy waking up. Dr. Mizuno was already freaked out by her anyways. A few people shout at her to stop running, but it hardly fazes her. She only slows down when she gets to the door. Then, she starts to hesitate a little, wondering if Nazo was wrong. If Scorpio’s death wasn’t enough, would she be able to handle that? She opens the door softly and sticks her head in.

When Sophia sticks her head in, the room is dark. Kenji was laying on the bed, his eyes closed and no apparent response to Sophia's presence. A heart monitor nearby had naught but a still line on it, and a lot of the machines hooked up to Kenji seemed to be in the process of being removed or already removed. He didn't seem to be moving, and the darkness combined with the blankets gave no sign of breathing.

Sophia stands in the doorway for a few moments, just trying to understand the scene before her. After a while, she walks over to the lights to turn them on, “Why are the lights off? What’s going on?” Nazo told her that Kenji would wake up when Scorpio died. And she got the team to go beyond the call of duty there and save Scorpio’s soul. Shouldn’t that be enough? Her eyes are starting to well up a little, but she isn’t quite crying yet.

“Where’s Dr. Mizuno?” she half-shouts, panic rising in her voice.

When Sophia entered the room enough though, she would hear an awkward snort from the bed. Upon closer inspection, she would find that he was snoring lightly. A few moments later there would be an awkward moment as he talked in his sleep.

"Why are you so shy? I mean that skirt barely covers anything as it is..." he mumbles barely audible as he continued to sleep.

Sleep. He was asleep...much to Sophia's embarrassment, panic, and chagrin.

The loud snort makes Sophia jump as the room was otherwise quiet. “Oh… sleeping… that makes sense,” Sophia says. Relief pours over her. She wipes her eyes a little. While she knows she probably shouldn’t bother the sleeping boy, she can hardly contain her happiness. The fight was over for the time being, and everyone was alright in the end. She couldn’t really ask for more.

She rushes over and gives Kenji a bear hug. “I’m so glad you’re not comatose anymore! Do you always talk in your sleep?”

And abruptly, Kenji finds himself startled from sleep by a bear hug from Sophia. He suddenly finds his face shoved into Sophia's midsection, which while one might not complain made talking quite difficult. He mumbles something, muffled by the fact that his face was being smothered on Sophia's chest.

“Huh?” Sophia couldn’t make at a single word of his muffled speech. Realizing his face was buried in a slightly awkward location, she quickly lets him go. “Sorry… I’m just glad to see you’re ok.” She turns to the window where the flowers she brought earlier were placed. “I brought you these earlier. I should have brought more… Sorry.”

She shakes her head, “I’m starting to ramble… I just needed to make sure you were alright. What were you saying? Would you like me to get out of here, so you can go back to sleep?” She looks a little embarrassed about her actions earlier. However, she was worried about him dying not more than a few days ago, so her excitement over his improvement was somewhat valid.

Oh...thank you..." Kenji says once his face was released from Sophia's cleavage of paradise. He looks awkwardly at the room where Sophia was standing, not sure what to think. He thought himself a failure for having been in that situation in the first place, and he couldn't feel that power that coursed through his body for that one brief moment. His brown eyes express shame as he looks at the young lady, before shifting back to the bed where his hands were.

"I don't want you to go, but I feel like I failed you for the trouble I put you through...and then the fact that I don't think I can help you with those...light powers..anymore." he says, obviously depressed that for a moment he seemed to be worthy of Sophia in a sense, and then just as quickly losing that along with several days of his life.

Kenji’s words confuse her. She hadn’t expected her to feel badly about everything. He gave it his all after all. “Failed me?” Sophia shakes her head. “No… I wouldn’t be alive without you. I can’t express how grateful I am for what you did.”

She looks down at floor. “If anything, I’m the one that messed up. I wasn’t able to stop you from getting hurt. We’re supposed to work as a team to protect each other, and I wasn’t able to do that.”

She smiles at him, “But the fact that you’re… normal. It’s a good thing though. You’re ok. You can go back to doing what you normally do and live your life. I’m actually really glad that you’re back to normal. It’s safer for you this way. I’m not the best senshi to have after all.”

"It's not about being normal..." Kenji says dejectedly, looking at the sheet on the bed slightly sadly. The moment he had as a knight was the most exhilarating thing he had felt, and the bond he felt with Sophia was also a perk. However, now she seemed to be almost trying to shove him out of this entire thing. How could he sit back and know Sophia was going to go face to face with these monsters constantly while he couldn't do anything to help her anymore.

"It's about wanting to protect someone that is special to me...to shield them from the horror of this scary monster thing as much as possible..." he says, rubbing his head trying to fake a smile but a little discouraged at the fact that she seemed to try to want to minimize his involvement. He looks at the sheets then, not sure what to say. What happened next pretty much depended on Sophia's response.

Sophia nods as he mentions protecting people. “I can understand that.” It feels a little selfish, but she almost wishes Kenji was still her knight rather than David. They shared so much more in common. Between the two of them, they could’ve made this world a better a place.

“You would’ve made an amazing knight too. I’m having trouble understanding this new one… He’s not much like you. Even though it only happened once, I miss you being my knight.” She shakes her head. “But, you have people who care about you. And it’s better that you don’t try to go into battle, especially with how things are now.”

She smiles back at him, trying to raise his spirits, “Maybe there is a way for some way for you to still help though? In some kind of less dangerous capacity, of course. You’d be a pretty good liaison if we can ever convince some group not to shoot at us. And it be nice if someone could make the public feel better about our presence. You can definitely still help people with or without powers. I don't know... how would you like to help?”

"...There is another one already?" Kenji says, with little masking to the fact that news there was a replacement guardian disappointing. Did Sophia actively try to replace him, or was magic such a fickle mistress that she goes from body to body like a breeze in the air. The thought of mistress and then less than pure thoughts enters his mind for a moment, and if Sophia's heart sensing powers were active she might be faintly aware of the thought. His attention snaps back when she mentions not going into battle and being a liason. He wasn't sure exactly what he could accomplish that way.

"...Well I mean I'm not sure what I could do that way, wouldn't the government men want to apprehend me and torture me with car batteries for information about you?" he says, as his eyes shift away.

Sophia looks down, “I was surprised too. We sort of bumped into each other. At the time, I was worried you might never wake up again since another knight just seemed to appear so quickly. I don’t really understand how this stuff works at all. I can’t tell you how glad I am that I was wrong.”

She doesn’t entirely understand what’s going through his mind, and luckily for Kenji, she didn’t have a thought to activate her heart-sensing abilities. “I was able to have some of your power transferred to me though if it makes you feel better that it isn’t entirely lost. But you’d probably be better at using the shield power that I am.”

She looks horrified at the thought of car battery torture. “DO PEOPLE ACTUALLY DO THAT?!” She realizes she’s being loud, and quiets down. “Ummm… on second thought, maybe something else…”

She closes her eyes, “I sort of find it nice just being able to talk to someone who isn’t… involved. It’s been a while now since I’ve been around anyone who was normal… or thought about normal high school girl things.” All her friends these days were knights and senshi, and she felt like her whole world revolved around them. At some points, she just wanted to pretend to be some average high school girl, even if just for a little while. “But you probably don’t want to just listen to me vent about everything or do something mundane.”

She plays with his hair a little, and says, “I’m sure you’ll do something great, no matter what. You still have the soul of a Venus knight, so spreading love and light is sort of something you should and can still do without powers. Even if that sounds really cheesy, I think that kind of thing is important. It’s a tough of job reminding people that they still have thing to be happy about and to be hopeful for just me.”

“And there’s always helping in my search for finding the Silver Princess. She’s the one that destroy the Covenant and heal the corrupted and bring back the dead. I have an item to help me find her. She’s supposed to have the most powerful heart. Admittedly, I don’t have a clue where to start with that.”

Kenji was still a little confused at it all. Sophia had gotten some of his power now? Would he have been able to possibly recover if she didn't take that ability? How would she have done that anyway? Kenji couldn't help but to rub his head for a moment, but when Sophia exclaimed out loud about the whole car battery thing, he couldn't help but laugh a little at the reaction. It might have been a popular cliche, but he found the reaction funny all the same.

When she mentioned that he didn't want to hear her vent, he shook his head and reached one hand out to touch Sophia's.

"...That's not true. If anything, it means I can do something that nobody else can do, since it means I might be able to actually understand this kind of thing." he says, trying to shake off the uncertainty that was plaguing his mind for a moment: clearly Sophia was going through similar sensations right now. When Sophia mentions something about a princess, Kenji shrugs.

"That sounds as cryptic as it gets. How can you tell who has the 'greatest' heart. Wouldn't that kind of thing be sort of subjective?" he says as he rubs the back of his head. "I'd think it'd be you, you have a great heart." he says, his face reddening just slightly.

Sophia looks down at Kenji’s hand. This gesture happened in movies all the time, but she couldn’t help but feel a little awkward as it happened to her now. She turns a little red, and the words come out softly, “Thanks.”

She laughs a little as Kenji says that she has the greatest heart, “I have a way to visualize hearts, so I assume I’ll notice when I find it. And I’m not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, so I don’t think I could win the world’s greatest heart competition. Also, they said the most powerful heart, and I think there’s a difference there. I’m pretty much the weakest senshi on the team, and I think it be noticed if I had crazy Silver Princess-like powers. If any one senshi could be it… There was Ama with her Arrow of Judgment. She was the one able to grant Scorpio peace finally. She was the more skillful archer at the art exhibit and the one who purified the girl.”

Her smile begins to fade a little as she considers the moment before that. Ama was perfectly content to let Scorpio suffer for eternity had she not said anything. “But… if someone like her was the Silver Princess, I would fear… I would be concerned…”

Still, Ama did change her mind and ended up purifying Scorpio with their combined power. It’s not like she was cold or heartless, just a little lost in the moment. She would have done it whether Sophia was present or not. She shakes her head, and resumes smiling, “Nevermind, actually. I’m sure she'd be good at that kind of job. However, I was told the Silver Princess was not a senshi.”
