"Yeah I told you I'm in. It's hard for me to ignore this kind of thing once I know about it. I'd rather to stick it to that narcissist in the end." Tanaka says as he thinks about the conundrum and how to get more sample. He looks at Taika, then back at Ashley considering his colleagues' opinions and theories carefully.

"If it emits an energy source, I wonder if it's a part of the TCC's tech or a fuel. I think we can only approach this problem with a loose understanding of normal particle interactions and chemistry: there's clearly something not normal and even for lack of a better term 'supernatural' about this stuff." Tanaka says as he gets up and walks to a nearby bookcase, pulling a single bit of literature out: a sizable research journal entitled: Advanced Supplemental Theory of Expanded Energies and Particle Interactions on the Micro Scale. He grimaces as he looks at the journal, taking a sigh.

"A colleague in Kyoto sent me this a few years ago, outlining what he thought was an expansion of physical science along with how some things are modified by obelisk energy. He eventually pissed off flamingo and got shipped off to the Siberia lab, but I kept his journal since there was some interesting reading if nothing else." he says, flipping through a few pages.

"But damn if I actually understand it. The math in here is original and the equations are foreign. He claimed that they were accurate...but who could really check behind it."

Ashley nodded and agreed with his new ally "Yes I agree with you but we would need more samples to work with. And if we could find out what there made out of. There is a possibility that we could grow these crystals..." he said and started to muse on that until Tanaka started to go on about a colleague in Kyoto. And that the man had pissed of Matou to be shipped off to Siberia. Although left behind his journal. Plus all of that sounded like his area of expertise with physics. "Dr.Tanaka, that sounds like my area of science, could I see that journal please" Ashley asked since he was very curious on that journal. If he could prove that the math was right then something afoot was going on within the lab.

Taika shakes her head, “One of many good researchers moved to the isolated Northern tundras. I think Flamingo just doesn’t like people to upstage him.”

“Not my strong suit,” Taika says as the journal is brought out, “I’ve got enough chemical knowledge to do my job, and it ends there for the most part. And physics, that’s a no. So I doubt I could make heads or tails of it.” She looks a little saddened by the fact that this would end due to the holes in her education.

She looks at Ash as he asks for the journal, “If you can make sense of it, then that would be a damn good starting place.”

“Dr. Tanaka, have you ever managed to get in touch with your friend up there? Any kind of contact information?” she asks. It’d make things a hell of a lot easier if they could shoot the guy an email or something.
