Sophia is well aware that she is being a little silly. She is going to get herself lost on campus again for sure. However, the first day of classes was over, and she desperately wanted to see if the rumors about Valdis were true. However, she didn’t want to come off as too much of a crazy fan… She wasn’t sure exactly what she would say if she ran into.

It wasn’t so much that Valdis was her favorite artist. Sophia preferred music with a more upbeat tone to it. The Sirens had a twinge of something dark to them. However, she could recognize and admire the talent that they possessed. Maybe she should just mention that she tried out for the arts program and was eager to learn from her.

She goes between buildings in the high school part of campus. Valdis was about her age, so her class shouldn’t be too far from her own. Looking for purple hair, she pokes her head into hallways and classrooms.

She hung her leather bag over her shoulder, it was full of books distributed in class. Her strides her long causing her purple locks to flow behind her. It was intresting….the first day of class; she had been lucky to find two intresting people. Though by now there was sure to be media waiting at the front gates...It would seem she’d have to go out via the forest. More work but less annoying…she looked at her watch…She’d be late for rehersal if she didn’t hurry. Valdis turned a corner and stopped…why was someone lurking.

”Excuse me…your in my way”

As she stood her wait shifted to one foot, she needed to get to the entrance to at least get her outside shoes…and the quickest way was blocked by this girl….

Evidently, the fates had blessed Sophia’s quest because Valdis was standing before her. Actually, they sent her this way it seemed. So the rumors were true. However, she was a little upset that this didn’t come off to the best start. Valdis seemed a little upset. After shifting to the side, she smiles and says, “Sorry. I didn’t mean to block your way. Aren’t you Valdis Mortimer?”

She puts out her hand for a handshake, “My name is Sophia. I am a fan. However, you probably get that a lot. I was wondering if you were in the arts program. I just tried out, and I am excited that we might be working together in the future.”

Valdis looked down at the girl with a raised eyebrow, a frown adorning her lips. Her eyes shifted to the hand held out in a gesture of greeting, one that Valdis had no intentions of returning. ‘I’m a fan’ Valdis should have guessed. A small look of disgust crossed her face as the girl continued to talk….was this girl serious?

”Even though I wear this…and this…I will not be working with you…our levels are far apart. Both here and here little mouse”

As she spoke Valdis moved her hand, the first this she pointed to her uniform, the second the purple arm band marking her a member of the arts program. Her voice came out as a low purr a small smile graced her lips one that did no reach her eyes. The second time she made a motion it was to her face, and then to her heart. She took a step closer to the girl and stroked her cheek with a long pointed nail.

”Now if you’ll excuse me little mouse….I have previous engagements.”

Sophia watched as Valdis walked off. That could have gone better. What had she done to deserve that response? Or was Valdis this way with all her fans? Or perhaps she was just tired of dealing with people today.

And far apart? Sophia knew that Valdis was miles more successful than her. However, at school, they would be doing stuff side by side. And while she had a lot to learn, she was by no means bad at performing. Though, maybe she didn’t understand what Valdis was going through. It strikes Sophia as tough to be a celebrity. She gives Valdis the benefit of the doubt. Most people aren’t just cruel or evil. Some take a little more understanding others though.

She would give Valdis her space for now, and try talking to her again later. After all, being forced to see someone’s face for an entire academic year forces most people to work past any differences.

"Sophie-chan!” The voice of a girl could be heard yelling. Yuki had finally managed to find her and was currently running down the hallway to catch up. She had spotted the other girl turning the corner, and when she reached the same corner, a purple figure suddenly came into Yuki’s vision and with quick reflexes Yuki managed to make a quick pivot around the girl in order to avoid running straight into her.

”Woah, that was close. Sorry about that,” Yuki spoke to Valdis, but was more focused on what she had chased down Sophia for, not wanting to forget again.

”Sorry Sophie, I just remembered we forgot to exchange numbers,” she spoke as she turned towards the girl, pulling out her phone.

”You wouldn’t mind, would you?”

It was then that Yuki noticed Sophie didn’t seem too cheerful at the moment. Turning back to the other girl she had almost ran into, Yuki realized that it was that famous person people had been saying went to their school.

”After all, you’re going to be number one in the arts program at this school aren’t you. I want to be able to say I knew you first…” Yuki spoke, her words more directed at Valdis than Sophia. Yuki may be an idiot at times, but even could she could understand the current situation.

Wow…little mouse was indeed a little mouse, Valdis resisted the urge to shake her head and sigh. She began to walk away when another person yet again ended up blocking her way…was she ever going to get to practice?? Though the other one quickly got out of her way and began chatting to the little mouse, at that Valdis yet again began to walk away before a particular comment was directed for her ears. Valdis turned around and placed her hand on her hip. The smile Valdis produced was no less then soul crushing. It was the smug smile that spoke of a level of confidence that made one feel it was definite. It was a look that made you feel like you were walking into the lions den.

Valdis did approve how ever of little mouses friend; she had the spirit little mouse lacking…maybe some of that would rub off on her someday...With that Valdis turned and began to walk off again giving a small wave to the people behind her.

”Little mouse you should learn from your friend”

She paused…if little mouse was like that may haps she needed another lesson.

”Little mouse, pushy cat….let me show you how far you have to climb. You will fallow me, yes?”

Glad to see a friendly face, Sophia yells back at Yuki as she ran down the hall, “Hello Yuki-chan!” She flinches a little bit as Yuki almost runs into Valdis, but thankfully, she makes a quick recovery.

The comment directed to Valdis only made the sitaution more tense. She feels a little strange with Valdis there, watching the situation. As she brings out her phone to swap numbers, she attempts to diffuse the situation by laughing a little and moving on, “Maybe one day... But yeah, here is my number.”

Even weirder to her, Valdis begins speaking to her again. “Little mouse?” Sophia isn’t a fan of the situation. “I suppose that isn’t the worse name that I expected you to say, but still… After all, I am not calling you grumpy one.” With her beckoning her to follow, Sophia isn’t sure what to expect. “Follow you… that’s a switch… ummm… ok though. But where are we going?”

Yuki watched Sophia carefully as she tried to laugh the situation off and they exchanged numbers. Yuki might not be an expert when it came to the fine arts…but there were certain aspects she felt weren’t any different from sports. Yuki was glad Sohpie got to meet her idol and all…but they were rivals too now and Sophie had a tough opponent in front of her.

”Pushy cat?” Yuki pointed to herself, wondering how she earned such a nickname. When Valdis told them to follow her, Yuki grinned, curious at what the other had planned.

”Sure, let’s go,” she spoke without hesitating, pushing the timid Sophie along as well. Ok so maybe “pushy cat” wasn’t far off but so far Sophia hadn’t seemed to mind Yuki pushing and pulling her around. Maybe that was the problem.

”Be tough,” Yuki leaned down to whisper in her ear as they walked. She hoped the other would understand what she was trying to say.

”Where? Outside of your comfortable nest Little mouse. Pushy cat understands.”


Valdis continued to where the shoe’s were kept and slipped on her outside shoes and her long black trench coat with the chains on it. She glanced at her purple and silver watch real quick and slipped on her gloves. She was running a little late, she would just need to hurry...As soon as the other two were ready Valdis strolled out of the school with long quick strides. Instead of going to the main entrance Valdis took a side route. It was a little round about but it would take them off the campus in an unexpected direction.

”First lesson little mouse, if you do manage to make a name for yourself…even here you should learn to take a different direction coming and going. Never the same.”

As Valdis walked briskly, leading them off campus and into the busy streets of Japan.

”I’m letting you tag along on my afternoon, I go to the agency, get scolded for loosing another manager, dance practice, vocal warm ups, and meeting with the rest of the band.”

She’d also let little mouse see what kind of people she’d meet in the entertainment industry….and a few other things.

Sophia’s face keeps expressing greater and greater confusion with the situation. “Ok. I honestly can’t tell anymore… I was going to give your space because it seemed like you wanted some. And now you want to take me what it is like in the entertainment business… Not that I am ungrateful! This does seem like fun,” she says. The strangeness of the sudden situation that she is in makes her almost forget the fact that she will be meeting all of the members of The Sirens.

Sophia tries to keep up with Valdis’ quick pace, especially as the walk off campus in an unknown direction. “How did you lose your manager?” she asks. In the back of her mind, she wonders if it is because of wild mood swings. “And another thing, stop calling me little mouse…”

Yuki followed along throwing on her outside shoes and donning on her red jacket and black scarf before they started to make their way off of campus. She was excited that she had somehow managed to tag along. Not only did this little trip sound interesting, it was probably good experience for Sophia as well. As they walked, she slung her school bag over her right shoulder, and patted Sophia on the shoulder with her left hand.

”Just roll with it…you should take advantage of the situation and learn what you can.” Yuki generally tended to be pretty easy going when it came to sudden changes in an event or situation. She turned towards Valdis who was leading them, starting to get a little curious about the celebrity as well and wondering how she would respond to the question about losing managers.

”So wait…if you’re already pretty famous and have worked lined up why are you choosing to go to school?” If Yuki was in Valdis’ shoes, she would likely avoid going to school completely if she could.

Valdis shrugged at little mouse’s confusion, she was use to confusing people…most of the time she actually tried to…this time not so much. She smiled at the question on what happened to her manager, the ways she lost them were vast and numerous.

”I’ve lost many managers; I will continue to lose them until they set me up with one who isn’t such a wuss and actually has my career in their best interest. Some are chased away from my odd behavior, others pranks, others from soul crushing despair. Last one was chased away cause she fell under the impression I was a Satanist.”

A very self satisfied smile crossed her lips… Then she turned her attention to Yuki.

”The average career life of an entertainer is a short one; plus there is no harm in bettering ones mind. That and my father is very strict about my education, I’m free to pursue the career I want as long as I excel at my school work.”

Valdis chose to ignore completely the protest to little mouse’s new nick name, it was the second protest to a nick name today that fell upon deaf ears. Ama-chan had suffered a similar fate, after all once an idea got into Valdis’s head good luck trying to get rid of it.

Sophia nods as Yuki tells her to roll with the situation. She looks behind as they begin to leave the safety of what is familiar. In some ways, it was like an adventure to her. She picks up some speed, and smiles a little as people on the street seem to recognize her guide.

However, she figures there is a point to all this. It seemed to her that Valdis didn’t do things without a point. Valdis seemed to lead a busy life, but perhaps a lonely one. She wonders if she simply wants company but doesn’t know how to ask. Or perhaps Valdis was trying to act as her teacher here as she claimed and wanted to show her something important about being an entertainer.

She switches topics to more idle conversation during the walk. It was take two for trying to be friendly. “So how was the first day of classes for you? How do you feel about switching to our school?” she asks Valdis with some resumed cheer.

”Well sounds like you keep things interesting,” Yuki chuckled as Valdis mentioned why she goes through so many managers.

Yuki gave a sympathetic sigh when Valdis explained she was required to complete your education.

”I’ve never understood what the big deal about school is….but I suppose if you like learning there’s no harm in it.” Yuki of course had a one track mind to sports, and clearly thought little about anything else.

As the group walked and chatted, Yuki looked around trying to take note of where they were going. It had been awhile since she had time directly after school to play and hang out seeing as most of the time she had sports practice. She enjoyed a bit of variation and meeting new people though, so it was a welcomed change of pace.

”Mobbed by fans would be my guess,” Yuki commented when Sophia asked Valdis how her day was. It was sort of hard to imagine a celebrity going through her day like an average student….but then again so far Valdis didn’t seem that bad to Yuki. Confident sure, but then again so was Yuki. That and Valdis seemed as though she might have a quirky side to her and Yuki always liked interesting people like that.

’Not that I like her or anything….’ Yuki thought as though she was trying to convince herself. ’I’m still more of a Sophie-chan fan….she’s way cuter.’ It didn’t seem to occur to her that when it came to idols, or future-idols, Yuki was allowed to be friends with both if she wanted…but then again Yuki wasn’t all that bright when it came to common sense situations like these and probably figured that fans and friends were the same thing.
