As she left the café she happened to look at the time….she momentarily swore to herself. Freaking old enough to be a phantom op but not freaking old enough to own a car by her dads standards….the subways would have been shut down…well time to head for her home away from home then. She spun around and started the hike over to her red headed knight’s house. Once she was there she climbed up to Kails bedroom window like she normally did and rapped on the window.

She hasn’t approached him since the dance however she felt that they needed to have one of their one on one chats. Plus….she need a place to sleep tonight and she didn’t feel like finding a spot in the youma world. Even though she always found her twinsy sleeping in a tree it defiantly wasn’t as comfy as he made it appear. Seriously one would wake up with their butt asleep, and nothing was more annoying than a tingly butt.

Valdis also was wondering how he was holding up after the meeting, all that crap can be kind of overwhelming when you first see it…come to think of it…did she ever tell him she could see visions of the future.

After the meeting, Kail had went straight home and needed some time to just decompress after that massive info dump that Valdis dropped on them. In addition the meeting in his opinion was good but it was too sour and bitter to take. He had desided to relax and had a small bowl of ice and a small glass that looked like something for a stiff drink to be put on it. Which he did as he had some scotch with a bit of ice to water it down slightly. At once side was Aiko the other a game controller. Kail was watching an anime series he wanted to watch in a while. Then hears the rasping of his window and sighed. He gets up and lets Valdis in "Just get comfortable where ever you like. Just close the window behind you" he said and was back in his bed this time sitting up a bit more and pauses the anime he was watching.

"I take it your here to give me a beating for my actions the last few days" he said putting a few ice cubes in and pours some more scotch into his glass. "Bloody hell, I hope I don't get a drinking habit from the stress" he said sighed a bit. He only did a bit more then the casual drinking after something really stressful. The meeting was the second one, the other was after the harbor battle.

Valdis slipped on in and shut the window behind her, she immediately plopped onto the end of his bed and unzipped her long thigh high boots and placed them neatly in the corner. She let her sock clad toes wiggle about, walking around in heels sometimes were murderous for her feet. At time she wished she just could go barefoot. She looked up at Kail when he asked if she was here to give him a beating.

”Actually I lost track of time when talking to the cow and Lance and got stuck in the city again. I’m going to go steal one of your shirts for pajamas now.”

Valdis got up again and snagged a large shirt from his drawer and skipped off to the bathroom where she stripped and changed into it. Using it as an overly large nightgown; she came back in a short time. She carried her cloths neatly folded and placed them with her boots, before once again plopping down on the end of the bed. She certainly had no qualms about making herself comfy.

”Makes you feel better I cause my dad to drink to, his favorite is scotch to. …although I am still annoyed that you tried to black mail my father; you realize that’s illegal right?...however I understand I have placed an unfair burden on you. Not many would be able to keep it together like you have and alone…I am truly sorry…however I think I may have evened up the odds, your likely going to be pissed that I broke our agreement about not telling anyone the plan….you need someone else who can relate to your position with all of this…and with me. So I think I have evened the odds enough not to hold that grudge against you any longer.”

Kail watched as Valdis went and got situated for bed as at that point he just wanted to chill. He would ask later about who she was talking about. "Plotictions always use blackmail and other underhanded things to get there way. I doubt you will ever meet a clean one. With your father.....and well the president I tried to make it objectively and saw him more or less someone we needed as a ally by any means. In addition, I was trying to get the SPECTORS shut down. Yes, I knew I might have done something illegal....but at that moment. I was trying to go all out for the group" he said and drank more of the liquid as it went through his system. When he heard that she broke a promise she had between the two.

This raised a question with him "Look.....at this point its going to be a moot point. Who knows whats going on now, is it someone in the group? I had tried to get stronger by meeting a very powerful swordsman. I did meet him but I lost out and he's dead. I've lost a really good chance....plus I disappointed someone that saw great potential in me. He's dead and I never got the chance to say sorry for making him wait" he said and took another sip of his drink. For the most part Kail was depressed slightly "Half the time these days I feel more and more useless for the group. Or that some view me as some kind of joke. I just haven't done anything right. Well there goes Kail again to muck things up" he said as the alcohol was opening him up and letting some of his inner thoughts out. They were perhaps some very depressing words coming from him.

His self confidence was still in the ringer even though he was able to put up a good front.

”We should be working to change that not encourage it; if this word is liberated from the covenant things cannot go back to the way things were. But I can understand your motives; and I actually spoke to my father after about the SPECTOR program. He says everyone who goes in is on a volunteer basis and they know fully what they are doing… They are pronounced dead legally yet are operated on to continue to fight. That is what he said…however the next day he roasted the person in charge of the program…who happens to be a Zodiac. A Zodiac designed the Spector program. Things on that front will be changing no doubt. So there is one mole out”


Valdis placed a hand on his shoulder and shook her head.

”First off…tomorrow go to the shrine and pray…or go see Nazo and see if he can get a message to the spirit if he’s still lurking around. Say what you need to, to find closure. Nazo helped me with all the ghost in the mansion during the sleep over…it’s kinda his thing…if he hasn’t gotten a proper burial ask Rei and Sophia to help….We are all going to stumble and fail, be thank full you’re getting your wobbly steps off early. You’re reflecting and realizing things could have been done differently and are gaining wisdom from your defeats. I wouldn’t chalk those up to be complete failures then and I doubt you’ll repeat them.”

Valdis waited to let that sink in, her sharp gaze bore into him. It was obvious she didn’t mark him out as a failure yet.

”As for who I told, it wasn’t someone of the group. After you left I figured I put too much of a strain emotionally on you. Only made worse because you had no one but yourself to reflect on it… and after my last stay here…well I figured family should stick together….that and in order for my father to be able to move forward I had to give him some more information. He knows I infiltrated the covenant and I gave my last wishes to the knight he had just spoken to. He doesn’t know your identity so that’s up to you to tell him if you wish.”

Kail silently let most of this sink in on several levels before speaking. "I'll more then likely do so when I can tomorrow. I could bealive half of that, although I doubt that they knew that they would lose there humanity and there free will. I am glad that bastard is out, at least soldiers will not be taken advantage of" he said and put his drink on the desk beside him and then looks at Valdis. He was somewhat surprised it was her father. But knew that the two of them were perhaps the closest thing to a family she had. So it would make sense for her to do that. Although worried that he knew her plan but things could not stop as he heard that this would be her final stay here. That meant that things just got more difficult for him as now he had to make sure she lived while the senshi were trying to in a sense to kill her.

"So how should I be talking to your father, do the batman thing and just show up out of nowhere and leave the same way? So I take it now things will get more dicey with fights....What should I be focusing on now, since your going to be gone now. Also....do you want me to get you a drink" he said and was going to get up just for a bit and streach a bit before he got comfortable again.

”I think by the fact I took an interest in it…and after what happened afterwards the program will be scrutinized intensely…At least it should considering the Spector’s we saw are nothing to what the cow described his pet projects as.”

Valdis looked visibly amused at his suggestion of batmanning her father.

”…do it…”

An evil grin grew across her face, now that was an idea of his that she could be proud of. It was something she would do

”It will eventually grow on him, trust me…but seriously as a request from me do exactly that!”

She chuckled obviously pitching the results and being very much amused by the mental image. Alas her amusement did not last long because the subject turned to the fights ahead. Valdis frowned …this was an area which she was very unsure of.

”…I don’t know…I really don’t know what lies ahead….even the smallest of things…like a falling bag of sand can set in motion a chain of events which will completely alter our future. My only advice for you and all the others is keep moving forward, even when the odds are stacked against you and your power is ripped from you. Never stop fighting…That vision today is how things stand at the moment…I do not know what action to take to change it, or whether my actions will cause it to happen. Best thing I can do is to continue to use my judgment and take one thing at a time. I suggest you do the same.”

Valdis pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, at times she was as lost and confused as the rest of them...

”…Coordinate with my father and the others to find out how to bring down the obelisk in Sapporo. Do that and I believe it will buy you the time for you, the others, and the armies to get ready for the march on the citadel…That is going to be your best hope.”

Valdis paused when he asked if she wanted a drink….she was under the age…but frankly she was never going to get to try the stuff anyways.

”Just don’t tell my dad, he’d have a cow”

She chuckled a bit before becoming somber once more.

”As for how things proceed with me I don’t know…The Zodiac I have dealt with are not that bad…plus pretty sure my twinsie has things figured out something is up, however he’s choosing to see how things go.…and the Cow…I think once things begin to point towards that being the future Virgo plans then the Senshi will gain a new ally….I don’t know about the goats stance yet…So there is head way with that.”

Kail nods his head and goes down to the kitchen and gets some Bacardi Rum and some cokacola and made a simple mixed drink for Valdis. He grabs a bag of popcorn and comes back up "Here try this, its not too strong but its good enough for you. Its a basic rum&coke" he said and handed her a cup. "I'm not going to say anything to him about this" he said and then close the with his leg. "The best thing I can think of to deal with that obelisk. I see what those science guys can come up with. And I will more then likely will not stop fighting until I die and will keeping if I have to go tooth and nail against the enemy" he said and then looks down at her. Kail just was thinking a bit more on what do after Valdis leaves the group. Since he was the only member of the group that was in know of Valdis's plans.

"Just be careful, that's all I ask with trying to get allies" he said and was just going to his best now to at least give hope to the group.

Valdis nodded a thanks and took the drink, she looked at it with an unsure gaze before bringing it up to her nose and taking a sniff. Her nose scrunched up slightly as the smell of the alcohol hit her…She never did like the smell of it. But …it was worth a try. She took a sip and as the after taste of the rum hit her she visibly twitched. This definitely wasn’t something she liked right off the bat…however Kail was nice enough to get it for her so she continued to take smaller sips of the drink.

”There is a force field around the obelisk, your first priority. If I’m not around when it comes time to take down the obelisk call upon Soma. Lance joined the Zodiac tonight, however Soma his other ego told me to call upon him when it is time to march on the obelisk. His powers shine in large groups…he will be a large asset when it comes to the larger scale battles…Its going to be a blow to moral for the others more so then me leaving….but for his sake do not say anything to the others. He may do so himself.”

Valdis laughed slightly when he asked her to be careful.

”Best thing I can do is the Sophia method…and so far a couple of them aren’t that bad…apparently I might have gotten the most sentimental Zodiac even if he tried to shoot me with a gun that’s like an insta kill when I first met him. We have matching necklaces! And apparently have mind to mind communication…just found that out about an hour ago….he likes scaring me with images with furbies….but I think I might have beat him in the scaring contest cause haven’t heard a thing since. That and he didn’t roast me when I picked him up and sent him flying into his own creepy skeleton army and then blew them up after I threw him at them…On a positive note thanks to training with him most nights I have gotten a lot stronger.”

She smiled amused that it was her overly friendliness that inspired this whole plan.

”However I am afraid that this plan will be cut short…I will do what it takes to prevent dooms day from happening, or at least stall it as long as I can….It helps that Lance has joined because that leaves two of us aiming for the Zodiac spot. It will take them slightly longer to choose….They have gathered the energy already that Scorpio has used; my only theory for why dooms day hasn’t happened yet is because they don’t have Scorpios position filled. As soon as they do well…that will be the day.”

She looked at him with a bit of a sad smile.

”My visions tell me I don’t have much longer; but I have tied up most of my loose ends…me and the band finished the songs we were working on….changes our sound a bit but I think it’s worth it. I still have one thing I want to do before times up that I need to ask my Zodiacs help with….I want to go back to Transylvania and give a burial for my mother and the villagers…they’re probably just bones now but they deserve a proper resting place. So I may be gone for a couple of days….As for my assists I’m splitting them equal shares for you, the shrine, Sophia, and Kurio for the care of his sister….same for the royalties on my songs, they will be split. Do with them what you will…..and if my body is still around if you can burn it….I don’t want to become one of libra’s toys….in fact if any of the senshi or the knights die burn them to ashes. Wishes of the family or not you cannot risk having their bodies around while libra still stands. Pass that message on to the others.”


Valdis still continued to sip on her drink, it was beginning to grow on her.

”Like I said I will continue to do as much as I can on the other side…I do not want to go up against any of you knowing what I can do on my own power…more so now that I’m harboring all the energy from the red crystal youma...Gem forced me to keep it…brilliant though agonizing move…but was that crystal ever picked up?”

Valdis never did get rid of that energy, Gemini would not let her release it into the store. It burned like nothing else and she was in agony for what seemed to her like an eternity. But slowly her body with her own abilities adapted to the new surge of power. Learning how to suppress the presence of that power had been the next overwhelming task. Another task Gemini forced her to achieve…brilliant though because if someone were to inspect her it would seem as though her energy signature hadn’t changed in the slightest.

Kail slightly sighs as he hears about Lance going into Covenant "What the hell I mean what in the freaking hell. Why is he going to the Covenant....." he did not understand that. As he personaly wanted him not in the Covenant due to Oni. "Most of the time he does not give a shit about anyone except for himself" he said and just sat back in his bed and took a large gulp of his drink and sets it back on the table. The redhead was not pleased with this and just did not want to do. "I just want to beat the living hell out of that guy. I mean yeah he's gone through hell more so then all of us. But there have been those in his situation or worse. So he's not the only one, maybe its just that one time I met him. Honestly if you had not told me this and he was doing this. I would have more then likely want him dead at the end of my blade. Due to him not caring much and the Covenant could send Oni out in full rage mode. And might kill one of the girls " he said.

When Kail heard what she was doing now made him really go pale in the face. He did not realize that things were getting that short. I mean sure he thought it was one or two months, but it felt like it was going to be a week or the next few days. How in the heck were they going to shape up that quickly or even give enough of a finger to the Covenant to slow them down. His frustration at how powerless he was to stop any of this and the bitter pills that were shown did not help matters. They needed one hell of a massive morale boost or even something to get them stronger quicker. But his shoulders sagged as life and reality were not like that. "Just give my share to Kurio, from the sound of things he needs it more then I. If its just him and his sister" he said it felt that life was too cruel in general.

"I have the Red Crystal, I have it locked up with several wards on the box. Either way this is just bloody lovely...." he sighed and took the bottle he had and poored some more scotch into his glass and just drank it down.

Val made herself more comfy by leaning against the wall while sitting on the bed. An amused look crossing her face as Kail ranted on about lance. She let him go on as she let his anger on the situation out before swirling the liquid around in her cup. She was silent for a few moments before he stopped as well. A small smirk playing across her face.

”Saaa, it would look that way, however he requested for his services a piece of land be given as his….the American military base which happens to be our little mouse’s home is in that neutral territory now. I believe his other part is fallowing me in….I do not mind having him on my side. You will need someone to take my place anyhow…Soma has the mind for it, and may be better suited for it in this case”

Valdis looked up at him.

”Do not count him out that easily, even in his Oni form he’s shown some restraint and he’s looking towards the covenant to help him control that aspect of himself…he realizes he’s not as in control when he’s in that form. However he does not have as much control of his body to begin with considering there are personalities fighting for control….We are not losing allies but we are gaining them….the picture is not as bleak as it seems”


When he said to give his share to Kurio Valdis raised her eyebrow.

”I don’t think you realize how freaking rich I am…even with that split you get rights to the royalties as well which will continue to be a source of income. Your college will be paid for and you will have enough to float you to accomplish your dreams as a writer. This is my wish…”

She said it with a matter of fact voice, there was no room for argument. The fact she was planning on a life for them after they succeeded showed she still had hope for them. But when he mentioned he had the crystal in a safe place Val tugged off her class ring and handed it to him.

”And here is the purple crystal, keep it safe as well…Even though with it I could give any Zodiac a run for their money I don’t want any chances of them getting it.”

As much as the thought of having all the energy of the red crystal youma on top of the power that she would have gotten with the crystal…the sacrifice of personal power for the greater good was much more important.

”When it comes time to find the Silver Princess Sophia can find her, she has the ability needed to do so.”

Valdis saw him down another drink and smiled softly.

”Listen …the future can be changed with the smallest of actions that first fight with the snow youma when we first ran into Scorpio. If you had not won that battle that would have been the end as well, everyone would have died. However by the simple act of telling a ferret to go cut down sand bags lead to the changing of the outcome…otherwise Sophia would have botched it….I’m going to give you guys that sand bag if I can. We have been put to the test before and we have triumphed.”

Valdis could see that he was low on moral….she thought for a second…she was steeling this idea slightly from Nazo but…She took a breath and extended her hand. Once more the purple sparks surrounded her hand and the room around them dropped out. In a moment a warm breeze carried with the thick scent of lilacs and other flowers permeated the air. A bright blue sky stretched above them and the sound of children laughing and giggling reached their ears. They found themselves at the gates of a large garden with winding paths through tall flowering plants. The garden itself was surrounded by a old wooden fence, near by a simple stucco hut with a thick thatched roof. The road that lead to the house was dirt and worn, a slight dust kicking up when the wind passed. Golden wheat fields stretched out far and beyond. Traveling up a tall hill where in the distance a small chapel sat, right on the boarder of a vast dark forest. If one would look the other a large castle in the distance could be seen. It was as if the scene was taken out of a painting, or a small step back in time in a poor farming village. For other small houses scattered further away could also be seen. Suddenly just beyond the gate a glimpse of one of the laughing children could be scene. A small girl no older than five, with a short tell tale purple hair burst forth holding a stick in one hand and rose in another. She seemed to be playfully sword fighting off another red headed girl, they seemed to be playing a game of pirates before once again disappearing into the maze of flowers. The giggling could still be heard, as a pleasant smell of baking apples wafted by from inside.

Kail was silent when she mentioned Lance and his problems and took another gulp of his drink. He could not argue on that matter though, since it was really out of his control. Since perhaps he did not know how to deal with some people on some matters. Then came with the money and relented on the share "Sorry I just want to give it to someone that needs it more then myself. I maybe I'll open a charity or something later on" he said showing that he did try and put others above himself. So he would use the money to give back something to the world. He then takes the ring and opens a droor at his desk and closes it, after putting the ring inside. "I will take care of it in the morning, the box is hard to get to at the moment. Trust me I will not forget about putting it in there" he said and then sipped a bit more of his drink.

"I know that right now its the darkest time before the dawn of hope. I wish these rays have already come. But at the same time I know sometimes have to make a miracle with our own two hands. I wish this uneasyness was gone....that blackest of nights. Sorry for rambling here...wait Valdis what are you doing" he said going on something and then saw her powers. He felt a massive out of body experience as he was wisked away to another world or more like time.

Background Music

Kail was purely amazed at what he was seeing and smelling in the air. He could feel the wind blow on his skin and his hair. The sun's gentle warmth of spring time, it nearly made him cry to feel this again. The smell of flowers in the air did remind him of home before he left his homeland. The scenery around him truly reminded him of what miazaki film would look like. With the forest, the wheatfields, homes that looked like they were made from the earth itself, and finaly the sound of children laughing in the distance. Kail silently watched as two girls played with sticks in a imaginary swordfight which made him chuckle a bit. With a closer look, the girl with purple hair looked eairly familure to him. Then watched them run off still giggling as they played.

The redhead then smelled the apples baking from within the house. "A happier times of long ago...a far off time, where the wind dances with the flowers. Within the meddows of gold and endless emerald. While children of roses play in the endless ocean of sky" he said poeticly musing at what he saw. "Valdis...does this belong to you" he said not sure if she was even there. But figured that it had to come from her, but did not know what it was. He guessed that it was a dream or a memory of her past.

Valdis frowned…he would not take what she wanted to give him….She did not know what else to leave him to show her thanks. A sigh escaped her lips she would have to think of something else for him, when he put away the ring she nodded, she knew he would keep it safe. Valdis had no worries about that.

”I want it back if by some miracle I survive long enough to the final battle…I did after all volunteer to take it to mordor.”

Valdis shrugged, he defiantly had a poetic way of putting things. But at least he understood the importance of creating a miracle with their own hands.

”The uneasiness will never be gone…it will not lesson, it is a burden we unfortunately have to bear. However I have faith you will all persevere…You will all bring about a better future”

Valdis smiled when he realized she was up to something as she let her vision whisk them away to another time. She to stood there her face towards the sun as she soaked up its warm rays, an expression of pure peace washing over her features. Her long purple hair fluttered about in the breeze before resting just below her hips. His shirt covered her down to her mid-thigh, and her feet bare dug into the dirt below as the old sensations came back to her. She took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet scent of her mother’s apple pies. When Kail addressed her a serene smile was on her face as she motioned for him to fallow her as she pushed open the creaking wooden gate and stepped into the garden.

”Yes, it does”

She strolled through the garden her fingers brushing along the large leaves of a lilac bush. A woman’s voice called out ‘Valdis Kasei, lunch’ A chime of two children yelling coming fallowed not long after. The small children once again ran by them on the path. The younger version of Valdis running straight threw the current Vals form, only causing her image to waver for a moment where it was disturbed.

”Welcome to my homeland as it was”

She walked over to a wooden bench and took a seat motioning for him to sit down next to her.

”You may not want my money…so the least I can do is to give you a breath of fresh air away from the burdens on your shoulders for a little while”

Kail was not sure what to say now to this and follows Valdis over to where the bench was. He sat down and was amazed that he was brought into one of her memories. The red head kind of felt a bit embareast as well as flattered by this action. "I don't know what to really say to this. Except wow" he said and it did liven things up just a bit. Although he was not sure what could kill the negativity he had in general after all of this. Alcohol was one thing but did not want to be a drunkard or someone that could not hold his liquor. Kail had desided to push the inner demons away in his mind on to the back burner again. But what could he say now, since he was at a loss of words. This memory did tug at his heart strings a bit as it was from a long time ago. Even he remembered the green of the earth and the feelings of sunshine. Perhaps all he wanted was someone just to hug him and tell him that things would be alright. "I know it sounds silly and childish.....but. I wish that my mother was still here, just to hug me and tell me things would be alright. I'm sure you know that feeling all to well" he said to Valdis.

Valdis sat there leaning her head back just enjoying the smells, sounds, and feelings. This was a moment of peace for her as well. She only smiled when it would seem that the writer seemed to be at a loss for words.

”Wow is a good word for it, I miss these sights and views. I miss the sound of horse hooves clopping along the road, the quiet song of the bugs amongst the grass, and the chatter of birds. The smell of a fresh wood burning stove, or the thick scents after a heavy rain. The roads here were the best for puddle jumping; I would come up covered head to toe in mud.”

Valdis’s visions may have put a heavy burden, however they gave her the ability to relive her fondest memories like no one else could. Some may feel sorry for her if they knew the horrendous pain these visions cause on a regular basis, but for small slivers of visions like this…to her that was worth it. A reminder of how little moments like these could bring a life time of joy. Bitter sweet joy, but reminders were sometimes needed when things looks their worst.

When Kail next spoke about wanting his mother and asked her if she knew the feeling. Her gaze traveled back to her old home. With a sad smile on her face.

”Yes…I know the feeling…However if my mother passed I do not think I would have ever gained a father. Yes I miss her terribly…but her time has passed and it is something I have come to accept. It is why when I go back to these visions, I do not see her directly….Something’s just weren’t meant to be seen again.”

Violet eyes turned to him.

”But Kail….Things are not lost yet, my end may be nearing but even after death of what we know there is always a new beginning.”

Suddenly the vision shifted, the warmth of the sun was replaced by the warmth of a crackling fire place. The scene shifted to that of a living room of a large flat. Outside you could see the familiar site of Tokyo covered in snow. In front of the fire sat a sullen looking child around the age of nine, again this child had her telltale purple hair that was split into two long purple braids. She was dressed in all black, black turtle neck dress, tights and shoes. Her skin was as pale as the snow outside with dark circles under her sad and lonely eyes. There was no one else in the large flat, the girl who was easily identified as a young Valdis was all alone. Suddenly there was a click of an opening door, a man identified as a slightly younger looking Ito walked through the door. He was carrying something wrapped up in a brown bag, he walked over to the sad looking girl and scratched the back of his head. He awkwardly placed the package in front of Valdis and backed away to go sit in a nearby chair….the young Valdis looked up at the man with a glare that could kill, her gaze then slowly falling onto the package in front of her. The couch was covered in blankets and a pillow indicated that someone slept there. Most likely Valdis due to the fact the flat did not really seem kid friendly.

”I had lost everything I had loved, the earth had frozen over, and things just seemed to be getting worse. I had lost the ability to look back at happy memories, darkness was all I felt….The burden of the world was just too much for my little shoulders. I was stuck in a strange house, with no space of my own, with a strange man who did not know how to speak to me. Yes at this point I had learned some basic Japanese but he didn’t know how to approach me...nor did I wish to approach him. I shelled up in my own pain.”

The package remained untouched for quite some time, but eventually the rustling of paper was heard. It turned out to be some pink book with unicorns and such on it…A sigh came from the young girl as it was placed back into the package and she returned her attention back to the fire. No words were said however both parties in the room emitted great waves of disappointment. The older Valdis smile turned slightly bitter sweet.

”He kept buying generic little girl stuff, and I frustrated he was treating me like a cookie cutter mold. I was so focused on the bad that was happening in my life…because of it I missed so many opportunities to bring joy back into my life….and others”

The scene shifted to a familiar site of the Himuro Mansion, probably a year or so after the last vision. The young Valdis standing behind her father with a look of slight interest on her tiny features.

”He had told me we were moving, but didn’t tell me where. I had already enjoyed reading ghost stories and such, so I knew the legends around this place. I remember it surprised me…I didn’t know what to think of the gesture.”

She fallowed the pair as they walked into the house, the smell of fresh construction hung heavily in the air. They eventually walked to the new living room, bare of furniture but there was a package on the floor. Ito urged the smaller Valdis forward to open it, she did revealing a small Ouija board. ‘This place is supposed to be haunted, I figured this would be useful’ and for the first time a small smile appeared on the sad girls face. With that the older Valdis turned and began to walk away from the vision pair, back into the twisting and turnings of her house.

”My point in showing you this is, even if everything seems like it’s horrible there is always something that you could be doing to make it better. Even if its small never forget to live. It was a lesson my mother taught me in her last few months on earth. But a lesson I did not understand until I grew older. Live life as if your last day is tomorrow, do not let sadness, or grief hold you back. It is why I do not understand why people need to take things so seriously in life. I prefer to make life a joke, something you can laugh at and enjoy…Never lose the ability to see the humor in things and you won’t find yourself drowning. Love life, and love the time that you have with the people you care about.’

She turned to him and rested her hand on his shoulder.

”Everything will be alright, if you just breathe a little life into it. Even if things would end tomorrow things will be alright. My time draws to an end, but know that I cherish these past few weeks, my world grew larger thanks to you, Sophia, and the others. You can continue to do that with the others, while I can’t guarantee that you will succeed I will give you and the others time to try and at the very least more time to make the small moments count.”

She may not have a motherly touch, but hopefully she gave him the ability to see things with a new perspective that did not make everything seem so daunting. But her vision shifted again and once more they were on the bench back in the warmth of the sun.

”But to answer your question I do sometimes wish to see my mom again just to ask why someone who loved flowers and such would name me after the goddess of the dead…..coupled with the last name Mortimer…seemed like a dark name choice for her. Maybe I will get that chance soon though.”
