After setting the dogs loose on her victim Val went back to her father’s office and knocked on the door, before leaning her weight against the door frame.

”You know that was supposed to be a sit down dinner conversation…Come and eat with me. I have a few more details I’d like to fill you in on…now that you agreed to this at least. I think you should be armed with a bit more information before you go to that meeting tomorrow.”

Her father was like her when it came to work and such, he wouldn't stop for a decent meal if someone didn't make him. She hadn't eaten much today either so might as well force him to join her. Plus she could hammer out a few more details while they ate as well.

”If you don’t want to leave your office I can always bring dinner in here. What do you feel like eating?....and how do you feel about this whole situation. I have given you quite a bit of information to let sink in. I can answer any questions that you may have as well. Might be easier to ask them with out the others being around.”

A full minute of silence would pass before footfalls would approach the door. Adoji Ito would open the door, carrying a tablet in hand and several notebooks in another, moving past Valdis and then pulling the office closed behind him.

"I have to prepare my people for a war that they will not want to fight until they realize how much is at stake. I further have to put an unreasonable amount of faith in the judgment of children to not hasten the demise of many that will come in the following weeks and months. You will forgive me if food isn't exactly high on my priorities currently." he says, looking visibly stressed. The information dumped on him had given him an impossible amount of things to consider, contemplate, and decide upon.

As he walks down the hall, approaching the dining room once more, he exhales a sarcastic laugh.

"Your friend Kaneko is going to be ecstatic when I have to put in for full scale production of the Shogun armored units...I don't think Japan will stop paying his family for generations if we survive this." he says, having a grim humor and hinting at the obvious fact that military hardware is both needed in high quantity and highly expensive.

When the pair would return to the dining room, he looks about, spectacles covered eyes wary.

"I will trust that there are no more surprise visitors this night." he states, before he returns to his seat at the head of the table.

Valdis moved herself to make sure she was at least out of his way while he bustled about. She scratched the back of her head as he went on…he certainly did have a lot to do. However the country had taken the passive approach far too long, and they came to the realization that they did only feet from the finishing line. She chuckled a little when he finished up with eating was not on his highest priorities.

”That’s why I am here to make sure you’re eating, you’re as bad as I am when it comes to this. That red head that was in her is always harping on me to take better care of myself, I now see where I get my habits from.”

She smiled when he brought up Jun, he would be dancing….however.

”Can I have the privilege delivering the news?”

Her grin grew slightly evil, her new teacher could help her cause a dent in Juns ego before they inflated it.

”Plus he’s so flirty if he settles down and actually has a family it won’t be for years to come. But the fact you have agreed to work with the Senshi allows me to poke Jun about supporting the Senshi once more. More than likely he will agree to it this time around; So I have business with him anyways; the Senshi will need his support just as much as the armies”

Valdis plopped down in the chair next to him and rubbed the bridge of her nose; she had a lot on her plate to figure out as well. At least one major thing was accomplished….now she just needed to get the other two notched out. Then she could concentrate on her main contribution to this whole escapade.

”No…no more visitors unless the one the American Government is calling Hades pops in unannounced; I call him Nazo by the way….He’s going to be the biggest help on our side to by us time to take down Sapparo’s obelisk. Although first I have to gain the understanding on how to bring it down…I have an idea of how but I rather not attempt it unless it is the last resort….But first things first moving forward when you gather this meeting. I ask and beg in no ways am I associated with the group; my involvement with the group is only as a rogue youma. Your armies can shoot at will.”

She looked him dead in the eye with a look that said she was dead serious.

”My personal meddling with the Senshi will be …less noticeable moving forward. If you need a message or things done within the group approach Venus; the others tend to fall in line for her...but back to the topic of your upcoming meetings. I know you have one with the American President coming up as well; I urge you to propose to combine both Japans and America’s forces. Sapporo will fall, and the march to the citadel will happen the Zodiac aren't as solidified as one would once think….but I do not think our base is without its flaws…But tell me do you have any questions that I can help answer? I can try to explain about the energy and such a little better but I don’t know how much sense it would make without experiencing it.”

"No. I have already sent the preliminary notification. This isn't something you can afford to delay for an offspring's amusement." Adoji says in response to Valdis' request to tell Jun the 'great news' as she seemed to infer it was. The finances of a nation were no laughing matter, as was the defense of the nation as well. He tilts his glasses and he pauses to look at his daughter after her statement about the armies 'shooting at will'.

"I will not have my daughter a target, though I have to figure out some way to convey that information I remain at a loss." he says, daughterly concern high on his priorities, but the political system of how to do things also remains a factor in his mind.

Of course when Valdis begin to go into how she knew about the meeting with the US President and the Sapporo. Then the almost idealistic speech of how relatively simple it sounded to invade and defeat the Covenant.

"You make it sound as though it was so easy...and of course you would go through my files again. I feel like I should just get you the security clearance because hell if anything actually works." he grunts, annoyed with Valdis going into state documents again as she had been known to do. At least, that was what her father believed right now. The annoyance conveyed much about the state of mind he was in currently.

"There are supply lines, logistics, establishing a foothold. Even getting our forces to North America in the best case is perilous due to the creatures that have attacked ships in the past." he says with a deep sigh before relenting into Valdis' offer about energy.

"Well explain the energy then, that's a start."

”A shame, but understandable.”

It wasn’t a great loss if she couldn’t break the news to Jun she was still going to break into his office anyways. However her father was as determined to step in as she was. She could only hope it wouldn’t become a problem.

”I see it as hitting two birds with one stone, I’m refusing to be a part of ‘team Senshi’, I appear to be a youma anyways; it enforces that the ones in the group are aligned with the government, those who are separate will be treated as vigilantes. Simple as that; as for the second bird it gives me more wiggle room for what I’m doing…I cannot stress enough please do not make special exceptions for me.”

Valdis raised an eyebrow when her Dad said she was making this sound easy.

”Talk is always easy, execution is not… I’m sure it will not be easy but it is going to happen. I’m confident of it, the outcome of the battle against the citadel is where my confidence wanes… and as much as I would like the clearance right now I will have to decline. But it was the US President that let that information leak, to the Venus Senshi who reported back to me; I haven’t gone through your files in ages. I find that I am fully capable of obtaining any information without having to go for an afternoon reading session.”

Valdis pondered a bit, it would be a challenge; however…

”One thing to know about energy whether good or bad, its limits are only our imagination and our bodies ability to channel said energy. Your plans no longer have to use the conventional methods. For example, taking a foot hold in Sapporo, it is in an area that has always notoriously gotten more snow then the rest of Japan. By now there would be enough snow to create massive amount of tunnels underneath the snow. Using this to our advantage we could have a force attack the covenants base from the surface, while the battle continues another team can come up from inside the covenants base itself to hit them on both fronts. Any Senshi with the ability to use heat or move snow would be able to create the tunnels with ease; saving time and effort in digging the tunnels. It would also put the senshi on the inside of the base allowing them direct access to the obelisks….now the obelisks you can call them from what I am gathering are like little mini networks sending energy gathered to a pool in the Citadel. I believe with a large enough surge of volatile power we could fry it out.”

Val reached out to the food that had been set up on the table before they had their surprise meeting, it was cold. A purple flame sprouted from her hand a steady but small stream washed just over the food. She held it there until it was warm once more. Her finer control over her powers was getting better; she had been working on it since it was suggested by Gemini.

”The energy, it is hard to explain it….unless you have felt it…may I see your hand?”

"And...what exactly will you be doing that requires an additional degree of separation?" Adoji asks glaring at Valdis. She had that tone and expression like she was up to no good, but it wasn't something simpl and basic this time. Rather serious this time.

As Valdis talked tactics, it was something that made sense but Adoji questioned how practical it was. There was going to be a full scale battle and if the Covenant didn't have some sort of radar or other way of detecting other people then there might be flaws in the plan. The final tactics would come about when it was time for such a battle in any case and it wasn't worth arguing over.

"And where would we acquire said power? You do realize the Obelisks have had a 'force field' of some kind around them. We tried aerial bombing when it first became a problem and they had zero effect." he says. When Valdis wanted his hand, Adoji looked hesitant...but he decided to see where this is going.

"You had better not burn my hand." he warns half jokingly, extending his hand to his daughter while mentally wincing.

”I am seeking the answers that we need to succeed, and placing pieces into place. If I succeed we will have a way to bring down the covenant and its foundation will be weakened... I already mentioned what I was doing before to you and I’ve gotten quite far into the plan. Speaking of pieces, has your team of nerds picked up any odd crystals from previous battles? They are high priority that the covenant at the moment is overlooking. ”

She munched on some food and pushed some towards him.

”The power can come from the pool that the covenant has gathered; where to get the power is not going to be a problem, it’s how but I might have the answer to that very soon. Although it would be unwise to attempt it unless it was the last resort….as for the barrier that will require a bit more research. I will consult with a couple of others on it; I know someone who might have a way around it or something.”

She took his hand with a small devious grin.

”Only stings a little…although it does for me when one of the senshi’s does this with me but that’s because their pure and I’m corrupted”

Valdis let a minuscule amount of power seep through to her father, he would most likely feel it being transferred over.

”Do you feel anything? Its like a tingly feeling that’s not quite right”

"...You're planning to get into their organization aren't you." Adoji says bluntly not knowing the fact that Valdis kinda sorta already did. "Anyone who has ever attempted to infiltrate, world wide, had been killed!" he says annoyed at the idea. Frustration was already powerful because Adoji knew at this point, no matter what he did, Valdis would do what she thought was right and pay little heed to that of others beyond what she claims to. Adoji was seething, because as far as he knew Valdis was headfirst diving into a suicide mission scenario. What father wants to know his daughter would die.

A question about crystals made him raise a brow. "I don't follow the science team day to day and frankly I am frustrated with their constant 'Lack of Progress' reports. It is why I am just about to dismantle that team and invest in Kaneko and other private labs for our purposes."

Adoji glances at the food that was pushed at him, but holds off for a moment. "So...a bunch of hocus pocus nonsense that frankly our forces and people can't do anything about." he says sarcastically about the large pool of energy and whatnot.

Adoji flinches and snaps his hand away as it felt like his hand was set to needles by the energy. It wasn't a conscious reaction but the unconscious self-preservation type. Rubbing his hand with the other one, he looks at his hand and can sense a strange sensation that he didn't know how to put into words.

"...I suppose that's one way to put it. And this energy is how the Covenant has blown up most of the civilized world is it?"

As her father reacted Valdis raised an eyebrow with a look that said ‘you already know I did’. But non the less she nodded and extended her hand to show the mark of Gemini on her palm. Her normally nonchalant expression turned solemn as he stated the obvious outcome to those who got into the covenant.

”Not attempting, have…as in past tense. I am replacing Scorpio, the one that we killed, I’m not quite at their level yet but I am close. So I’m not just going into the organization, I’m going into the leading ranks. This is why any information I have fed to you or the senshi should be taken seriously. It is not some habble babble I am making up as I go…. If all goes right you will have a way into the citadel and the foundation that the covenant stands on will be chipped away….if things don’t…well I have gotten more information than anyone thus far has…..if it makes you feel any better not all the Zodiac are the monsters we first thought…Some are just protecting the things they hold most dear. What they have done is atrocious, but their hearts are not yet lost…it’s when we lose heart we lose everything about ourselves. I know the path I walk on is dangerous but I know I can do good from it…I want to forge the path which the Senshi can fallow to their victory…I just hope they get their act together before it’s too late.”

Valdis scratched her head a little, perhaps she could clear the air slightly via this new revelation and maybe fix a detail she had overlooked.

”The red head you saw today, is the only in the Senshi group to know my plan…part of the reason he went nuts the other day at the ship was because he thought one of his teammates had killed me. I don’t quite think he was ready yet to relay my last requests…I have spoken to him since then and he understands that can’t happen again…but I have put him in a very difficult situation that he hasn’t quite figured out how to cope with yet. Mentally he is unstable… I think you would be able to help with that. He just needs someone else who knows so he’s not alone….and if it makes you both feel better out of anyone I have the best chance of surviving this messed up mission. I survived Scorpios poison even before I had the ability to transform into a youma…with help but its something.”

It had been agreed upon between her and Kail not to let anyone else know….she was breaking that agreement. Due to the fact Kail was crumbling beneath the pressure….she had miscalculated the weight of the knowledge she had placed on him…now her Dad knew…he would need the support as well. They both cared for her…perhaps this would be the bridge of common ground that would forge a stronger link between her father and the Senshi.

”On a side note for the love of god teach him how to negotiate properly. That was a complete mess earlier…and they’re meeting with the American President next; although I believe that will go smoother…. But still I was veto’d out of the meeting because bringing me to a negotiation I guess is too risky”

She chuckled. Her amusement was short lived when he discussed the science department and shutting it down.

”What exactly is the science department supposed to do? I mean making cybernetic humans isn’t what I would call ‘lack of progress’ While I am pro shutting down the experiments on live human beings, which I am highly against and disgusted by; I do think completely shutting down the science department could be a mistake. A new direction should probably be made….The experimentation on humans is part of why I have been hesitant to push the Senshi to collaborate with the Japanese military…the other is the fact that from what I have seen I think there is a mole in the military…. Considering the two cats the military had under lock and key, were the ones needed to awaken the Senshi…Someone would have to know what the cats were capable of before the events happened.”

Valdis shivered a bit the thought of what experiments were going on, she was always a bit surprised that her father would allow such research to go on.

”I still cannot express how disturbing even for me it is that Japanese military has sunk to experimenting on our own….worse its family. The one that the Red head attacked at the ships turned out to be one of the girl’s father…who was experimented on. That practice is going to have to change if you want the full cooperation of the senshi...”

When her father commented on the hocus pocus part Valdis shook her head.

”That is incorrect, anyone has the innate ability to use the energy. The reason why people in the covenant are able to use it is because the obelisk magnifies their ability to tap into the energy. I think it is very possible to develop something similar. However instead of storing power within the subjects I think it best to develop something to channel it through to negate the damaging properties it has one oneself…..however with the pool that has already been collected. That would be something un touchable for the military, but that’s where the cooperation with the Senshi will come into play. Every time a Zodiac goes up against that team they are pulling from that pool of energy, the Zodiac are pissed at the fact Scorpio used a chunk to fight the Senshi both times. The first time during that horrific ice storm, the second when we defeated him. So every conflict against a Zodiac won or lost has been helpful.”

She gave an apologetic glance when it seemed to sting when she transferred the energy. She was thankful she had decided to go extremely small. She nodded in response to his statement.

”Yes what you felt was chaotic energy, I do not know how the energy the Senshi uses feels…. For its not corrupt like this one is. The best way to describe this would be compare the energy to meat, you got your choice cuts and then your value cuts. Now the pure form of energy packs a larger wallup then the tainted. So what takes a large about of chaotic energy to accomplish only a smaller amount of the non-corrupt would be needed to accomplish the same goal. However corrupt energy will corrupt pure energy given enough time. The senshi unlike the covenant are able to channel the pure energy without corrupting it, which is what is going to give them the advantage over the covenant. The senshi are weak compared to even one of the Zodiac; however they don’t need to reach the level a Zodiac reaches in order to overpower them….which is why I go back to the subject of the crystal. Finding the crystals should be top priority. Much like the obelisk I believe they will magnify the energy….only without corrupting it. Until we have that tool, the Senshi can only take out the Zodiac one by one….but with that tool we will be able to overtake the covenant and bring it to its knees.”

"You expect me to just be okay with the idea that you are infiltrating the Covenant?" Adoji says after a long pause with Valdis' revelation that she was currently involved with the enemy. "I might have been late to come into your life, but that doesn't mean I want you to throw your life away."

Adoji's eyes narrow as he gives his daughter a stern expression.

"I...don't know what to say. If what you say is true then you are doomed to die...did you think of how your choice impacts others? Your hero friends, your friends, your band mates, your family.." he says before he sighs deeply and goes back to silence. He knew Valdis was going to be too stubborn and that she would probably be past the point of no return based off what he's seen so far and the reports of other infiltration attempts has his blood boiling. He had to separate the emotion from the argument right now. With a wave of the hand, Valdis would know that he wanted to drop this subject for now due to how wound up he was getting.

"...The cybernetic program is a volunteer basis and only enacted on a critically wounded soldier who would otherwise die and still wishes to serve the country. As it is a voluntary program, I believe there is no award adequate to measure their sacrifice and pain." Ito says, having a more collected measure, but the comment about cats raises his brow.

"I know nothing of cats being captured...if there is a mole that's disturbing, how would one go about finding a mole without causing a complete lack of trust in the command chain. The subject turns to energy and something Ito is less comfortable discussing.

"So...this is a latent energy that people can tap into, but only the Covenant can access the dark energy they have collected over the years...and defeating a Zodiac causes a setback. Further there is an intangibly 'purer' energy that is much more potent that the senshi can use...which can battle the greater mass of energy a Zodiac level entity can harness, and to top it all off there is some 'miracle crystal' that can instantly win the war for humanity..." he says, reaching into the drawer at the end, pulling out a bottle of scotch, and pouring himself a solid glass. Taking the shot at once, he then glances at his daughter.

"That makes perfect, totally, reasonably understandable sense."

The sarcasm was overwhelming.

”I never expected you to be ok with it…I’m fully aware of what I was walking into and how it’s more than likely to end. That red head knows what my last wishes are, and I’ve begun making arrangements for others….”

She sat back in her chair and met her father’s gaze.

”Besides for a small minority the group does not have the drive to go after the information needed….they’re just not there emotionally yet…Out of them I was the best suited for this, I am not empowered by a guardian planet as they are...They are needed in the end for the final battle, I am not.”

Valdis looked out the window…

”I believe the majority of my hero friends as you call them will remain unaffected. It was thought I had been killed on the ship when I was attacked by one of them, and got pulled under into the bay by the sinking ship. Only one who was affected was the Mars Knight….Which is why I am asking you to be there for him. I may be pissed at him right now for attempting to blackmail you, but I don’t trust he’ll keep it together as he says.”

Valdis drummed her fingers along the table, she could tell her Dad was plenty upset for this. He didn’t even want her to fight the covenant to begin with.

”Daddy, please just listen to my reasons, I don’t expect you to approve nor am I looking for approval. I’m making this decision because its what I can do to make a difference. It’s how I can fight back…I can’t stand locked in fear while I watch everyone I know get slaughtered around me again…I can’t handle more faces I know staring at me with dead eyes.”

She closed her eyes as a pained expression came across her face.

”I only can sleep here and there now….every time I close my eyes I see their faces still my friends...mom…My powers only make me re live every smell, every sound, every emotion. It breaks me…every night…Virgo plans to annihilate anyone who wasn’t an original decedent of the earth kingdom, that means me, you, all of my hero friends, and many more will be killed anyways; so long as I have the ability to, I will fight with anything and everything I have at my disposal.”

Valdis let the subject drop when her dad waved it off and then steer the conversation to the Spector program.

”What about soldiers that have already fallen? How strictly is this volunteer basis monitored? Are there any guidelines one when to stop? The biggest thing that separates youma from humans is how much humanity we sacrifice for the ability to fight. At a certain point you cross a line between man and machine.”

That was a troubling point indeed; there was a mole in the military. Finding it would be fairly difficult more so if there were multiples. Which there likely were.

”First off that break in on the unnamed military base at the beginning of the month. That’s where the cats were kept…first clue is on who ever frequented the area which was broken into. The cats have been kept there for decades. Otherwise the Senshi would have been around to stop the covenant from rising to power in the first place….However I find it odd that you wouldn’t know what’s kept on your bases.”

Valdis chuckled at her father’s sarcasm and shrugged, he had the gist of it.

”It’s kind of you have to see it to believe it…and unfortunately I have seen it. However I wouldn’t say the crystal is going to magically solve everything. Even if we can’t use it to turn the energy pool against the covenant, it still will be needed to get rid of this infernal winter…But I understand where your sarcasm is coming from. But in the past few weeks has anything I said about this whole mess been untrue? But that aside is there anything else you would like to know?

"I have been assured by General Masuou that the SPECTRE program is monitored very closely. Further, the idea of reanimating a corpse is absurd and unethical to the highest caliber. You also have to understand though. Those whom enter the SPECTRE program become officially deceased even while they are still alive. As the General explains it to me, and I agree with him, the general public isn't ready to handle the idea of this extent of sacrifice but if a brave man is willing to make it to better protect his loved ones even in absentia I honor that commitment."

Adoji scowls a little as he glances at his daughter.

"It is no worse than the daughter who takes it into her own hands to infiltrate the Covenant and set herself up to be killed. At the very least the soldier who undergoes SPECTRE program made a choice he was prepared for. You are still young and while you are brilliant, you lack wisdom sometimes."

When Valdis talked about the cats, Adoji face palmed. Firstly, it wasn't as if any politician knew the total contents of what was in a scientific laboratory: his job was to solve relevant issues, not memorize obscure experiments.

"That is an interesting subject I will bring up...but my staff will think I've lost my sanity if I talk about magical cats on top of everything else. You do realize that my job is not to memorize the contents of vaults of obscure laboratories, yes?"

The explanation about the crystal and the energy compelled Adoji to pour another, albeit smaller shot. He laps at this one a little instead of downing it in one go before he sighs as he was once more going into a subject well over his head.

"I don't entirely buy the idea of a miracle object still. There are so many unknown factors right now and new phenomena that I haven't any idea where to ask for anything specific."

”I’m not arguing the bravery…but another question I have is how much humanity is left of them…are they still themselves in a mental sense or is it just their bodies being used.. “

Valdis held up her hand when her Dad made the snide comment about it being no worse then what she was doing. Frankly she couldn’t argue with that view, considering it really wasn’t that much better.

”I’m not setting myself up for it…it’s more of a more than likely outcome….and while I may be lacking wisdom I understand the consequences I’m facing…however I know that the consequences of if I do not act will be much much worse…”

Valdis sighed.

”It may not be much…but I have accomplished more than even some people your age have accomplished in their lifetimes. Hell I’ve accomplished more in a couple weeks then your intelligence agencies have in years. One of my few regrets will not being able to rub their noses in it.”

There was a slight evil chuckle from her but the subject changed back to cats.

”I suppose it isn’t, but if you find out who was keeping them then there’s your first step to finding the mole...”

Valdis thought for a moment, it was seldom that she saw her father lost or having trouble keeping up with anything. Hell she kept up with this crap…but that was partly because she asked questions and was a little more opened minded then her father when it came to this stuff…plus she had been in the middle of all of it for a while now.

”….Be happy you weren’t introduced to this burned, blinded, and left out in the middle of the freaking woods….But I would suggest visiting the Shrine more often granny over there would probably give an easier to understand answer. She along with one other were the ones to explain things to me. She understands the Senshi side of things more than I do, I’m more involved with the covenant side of things. Also I would have doubted the miracle object myself if I hadn’t seen it be used after the annihilation of the moon kingdom.”

Valdis scratched the back of her head.

”You remember when I told you there were separate timelines, and realms and what not right? You didn’t believe me at the time because I didn’t have proof…..Technically now I have proof however I doubt you would want to go there….the locals aren’t that friendly. I have access to the Youma realm I have been bopping back and forth there almost every night. One of the Zodiacs has been training me....I haven’t met Virgo yet…however I will have to face her alone sometime soon.”

She paused for a moment.

”If all goes well I will be replacing Scorpio; and thanks to Scorpio I somewhat know what to expect when I meet her….as for a starting point lets shrink down the subject, do you have any questions about me? Now that you’re open minded about all this energy baloney?”
