The streets were surprisingly calm for the mess that took place on the harbor the afternoon before. Perhaps people were scared in doors...The harbor certainly was a bit too close to home for many, and defiantly not an easy thing to cover up. There were only so many mass tragedies that the government was able to cover up before the general public became suspicious. She pulled her black bomber jacket closer around her; she couldn't quite shake the chill caused by being in the water yesterday. Valdis was dressed simply today, a pair of washed out blue jeans, black sneakers, and her black bomber jacket. Her hair was pulled back into a long braid and tied with a white hair tie.

She was on her way to Kails; she was unsure of the aftermath which took place after she ported...or if any of the other group had seen what had taken place. She wasn't able contact anyone due to her phone being water logged SOOooo easiest person to get in touch with was Kail. So here she was on her way to his house. She got there and walked around back, looking for hand holds for climbing up near his window. She found a convenient trellis and scaled on up before knocking on the window a few times.

Kail groaned loudly as he felt around for his glasses and then puts them on as the battle from yesterday took a toll on him. Wondering who was making that racket he looks around and his groggy eyes look around until his eyes focus on the window. "Oh.....its Valdis....." he said and then his eyes go wide at the realization. "What the hell" he said getting out of bed and rushes over to the window and opens it. "Get your chilly ass in here now" he said just looking a bit freaked out. He thought at the time that she was dead after hitting the icy water from shock. "How....did you survive.......I am going to freaking kill Oni or whatever you call him" he still looked bugged out.

She greeted him with a lopsided grin and waved when he finally spotted her. She waited as he came over and opened up the window.

"Morning sleepy head"

She swung over to the window sill and pulled herself up and in with ease, those rock climbing sessions were certainly coming in handy. A sigh of relief escaped her lips, it was nice and warm in here. She proceeded to plop herself down on his bed and wait for him to finish the mash of sentences that spouted out....apparently they did think she had died... which meant Kail wasn't going to be her only visitation today.

"Oni's attack hurt but not seriously; what got me was being pulled down with the sinking ship. I couldn't fight the drag down. As for how I survived that's going to take a bit of an explanation....now sit down you look like you've seen a ghost"

She patted the spot next to her.

"I survived because I ported myself to the youma world before I drowned...."

Kail was taking a few deep breaths and trying to catch himself "Ok.....I am calmer now, What exactly happened on the ship" he said trying to get things in order. Since the battle happened last night, that and went a bit crazy on the enemy. Or the tin cans, his memory of what happened later was a bit hazy as he just snapped into a full rage mode. At the fact that he thought one of his closet friends died by one of his allies. "Are we dealing with another Zodiac this soon after scorpio" he air out asked and pulled a chair out for himself. His mind was already trying to figure out what to do.

Valdis waited for him to calm himself before waiting for his questions to come. She was sure this was probably a shock for him. She would answer his last question first.

"Yes we are dealing with another Zodiac, Taurus to be exact. Aquarius showed up as well turns out she's my band mates mother....but she wasn't in the fight yesterday. So we have two Zodiac running around Japan at the moment....Gemini is around here somewhere as well I ran into him the other day...quite an interesting fellow but I'm getting ahead of myself."

She paused for a moment thinking of where to begin.

"Well first off I snuck on the ship when the attack began, I happened to be in the area so I climbed up one of the docking ropes....every single cargo bin on that ship....was filled with youma. Both above and below deck...you guys were going to get wiped by a flash mob."

She shivered the youma energy on that ship had been scary.

"So to buy you guys some time I decided to wreak some havoc. So I started messing with the controls on the ships and starting random fires and basically leading a goose chase throughout the ship. Confusion seemed to do the trick but I got caught by two youma. A spider Youma named Kara and some freaky twitchy mc twitch twitch one....I made a deal with the spider youma if I could get her out of there she would help me...I ended up burning off her Zodiac mark to get her to do it. But she took care of twitchy for me and brought me to the front of the ship. Right about the time things started sinking and Spector showed up....probably sent by my dad cause I texted him to find a way to sink the ship."

She stopped to collect her thoughts.

"Either way Taurus called for the retreat and opened up an escape portal....considering the less youma left to clean up the better for everyone involved I made a barrier so a large chunk of them could escape and be removed from our world. After Taurus left she told me to fallow or she was leaving me behind; was about to go with her cause ya me in a youma form wasn't going to go over well....That was when Oni busted through and launched me into the water. So instead of drowning I ported myself to the Youma world. Which brings us to the point in the story where I have to go back on another explanation."

Kail was thinking as he listend to Valdis's story and let her finish telling it. "hhhhmmm this is troubling to say at the least. To have two of them running about although Taurus seems like a major threat to us. Although from the sounds of it, this Zodiac may not be brilliant. But a good enough fighter to know when to get out of there. I think another meeting with the senshi and fellow knights might be in order. Oni needs to stop being this mindless. Or I will personaly kill him, I have no tolerance for a mindless berserker. Something like Kousuke can be planed around. But Oni can not be told what to do. Which can endanger the group in general" he said showing that there was a slight change in Kail's demeanor. As the events from last night had changed him.

"Sorry what happened yesterday really shook me, So how many youma met there demise and joined the briny deep" he said trying to get objective and into the game.

" She seems intelligent enough to me; don't underestimate her Kail. She could have still completely overwhelmed the group. I don't know why she retreated yet, she left with the upper hand...That and the Zodiac aren't out to kill us all..."

She frowned at Kail, the worse thing he could do was underestimate an enemy. She was surprised at the venomently he had towards Oni. When he apologized and admitted that yesterday shook him up she stood up and walked over to him. She wrapped her arms around him and gave him a hug; it lasted only a moment before she pulled back.

"I'm still alive, it's going to take more than a random Oni to take me out. After all the next Zodiac shouldn't be that easy to take out, yes?"

She had a devious smile as she went to sit down again.

"As for the youma, the un open cargos and whatever was below deck went down into the briny deep as you call it. So I would say a good chunk went down which is unfortunate....[ b]

Kail was felt a bit at ease when Valdis did hug him since he had been drained from the events of yesterday. None the less he had to get his whits back together. "Do you know what Taurus was doing at the Harbor. The way that they were attacking was odd, they had a lot of youma attacking. I just could not put my finger on it. And I asked Ama, Kaguya, and Kousuke if they felt something was odd. There reply was the youma are attacking and that was it" he said looking at Valdis and was still trying to wake up as well. He needed to know that since it did nag him from the battle. Kail also assumed that everything was going acourding to Valdis's plans.

Valdis smiled and pat him on top of the head; she knew he had to be a bit shaken up especially if he thought she had died...she knew the feeling of terror of watching the ones you cared about slaughtered while you were helpless to do a thing. It wasn't a feeling she wanted him to share, but that was unfortunately the price of what they were getting themselves into. She sat back for a moment to watch him and his body language; she wanted to make sure he hadn't gone to unstable. A shock like that was enough to shake any one loose, so she did worry for him. The subject changed rapidly when he wanted to know if she knew more of what Taurus had been planning.

"Frankly I didn't get to talk to her much, she just kinda went get in the portal or I'll leave you behind sort of thing. But from what I observed while causing havoc on deck was that she was getting information on your fighting styles. She sent small waves of youma at you, each ranging in different abilities yes? An enemy you know is an enemy you can defeat after all, and the short skirt squad is quite new; and capable of taking out Scorpio. Scorpio from what I understand was one of the original Zodiacs. He came from the time when this world was still seeped with beings such as us, and where the youma lived among us. Some of the other Zodiacs are not as old as Scorpio was...... he should not have been as easy to take down as he was."

She paused to let the information sink in.

"Every cargo crate on that ship was filled with youma, she only let them out in waves. I gather she wanted to test how long you guys could take it. But the military swooped in and got in the way....I think she pulled back because of that reason. It was messing up her study."

They probably seemed like a joke after that display.

"That odd feeling you had probably was there because you were being watched, and being judged. However I will look more into what went on when the opportunity presents itself to me."

"Valdis.....let me get this off of my chest right now. After you went into the water and I thought you died.......I just snapped. During this time, three to four weird looking soldiers surrounded us and told us to stand down or be destroyed. I reacted so fast that I cleaved off one of there arms. Not only blood came spraying out, there was oil and other things. The thing that brought me out of this murderious rage, was this soldier's helmet coming off. What I saw was a man but at the same time not. He had wires and other cybernetic implants. That man that I attacked was Amarissa's dead father or assumed one...." said Kail as he let this sink in for Valdis as this might have been a massive mindblow for her.

".....These cyborg soldiers have lost there humanity. The only reason that I say this was that Amarissa's father reacted to the emotional rage I was having. He was going to fight off the other of those Cybors until some siren went off as well as several flash bang grenades. I...think that there might be a Zodiac Covenant person in there. I don't know if this a lot to take in....you can see why I am not my normal self" he said as his pet fox woke up and tended to her master's side. Kail just absent mindedly starts petting his red furry companion.

Valdis let him explain, and for several moments after she sat still not saying a word. The expression on her face was as if she had tasted something sour. The awkward silence continued as she drummed her fingers on her knee. On one hand she was indeed shocked, about Kails confession. However not due to the cyborg humans; she hadn't thought Kail to be attached enough for her death to cause an effect on him to that level. Out of all the knights she had pegged him last to attack a Japanese military anything. She knew he was smarter than that...but she understood loosing yourself to rage when you were render helpless to save the ones you cared about. Honestly this was the part of confession that had shocked her the most...she didn't think she was that important to anyone like that. In fact she never expected to be cared for on that level; she didn't know how to respond to it. So she sat there awkwardly, for once not able to think of what to say.

Her senses slowly began to return to her when she realized that finding out about the cyborgs seemed to bother him more than thinking she had died. At least that made her understand where she stood and it made her relax a bit more, her eyes softened and then she spoke.

"What you encountered was the army's SPECTOR program. Its why I haven't really pushed for the senshi's evolvement with the Japanese military, in fact I've attempted to take steps to put a buffer in between the senshi and the army. Sadly that failed....but the military has been taking humans and experimenting on them to create a being able to take down the youma. What you saw were men severely wounded or killed on a battle field and brought back via robotics. The idea of human experimentation such as that bothers me highly. So what you cut was most likely Ama's father brought back to life via the machines. The fact he was taken without family consent is something that only sickens me more."

Technically this was top secret information, but Kail did need to know what he faced.

"Its top secret; I'm not even suppose to know but Jun spilled it to me. But I suppose they were sent because I texted my father he needed to sink the ship...I think they were sent to find me...So I am sorry that it turned out this way....but Kail...going back to the fact you went into a rage. You do realize that I'm not expecting to come out of this operation alive.... right? My job is to weaken the resolve of the covenants leaders, and get you guys as much information on how to take them down as I can. There will come a time when I am tested to turn on you guys....and that will be the end of that"

She clasped her hands together in front of her to hide the fact they were shaking slightly, it was a scary fact but one that she had accepted knowingly. She knew she was going to die a painful but mercy willing quick death at the hands of the covenant. When that unavoidable death came, she needed Kail to be able to keep his head about him.

Kail even in this state saw that Valdis recoiled about his confession but at the same time it seemed that it went sour. ".......It puts me a bit more ease when dealing with them. Brave warriors like them forced to become these....twisted shells of there former selves. I don't know if they can become human again. IF they can I hope we can do that. If not at least free them from whatever control there under" he said gazing over at his sword set. He then looks over at Valdis frowning greatly back at this. Scolding him that her death was going to happen at the end of this. Kail gets up and looks at Valdis and sees her holding her hands. His mind was trying to keep himself from breaking down again as this was just painful.

"I don't know what I can say right now....I stil do hope that you are going to live through this. It maybe foolish.....But your a dear friend to me. I know that....you may have to turn on us. But I am human...and some emotional things just can't die. It still just makes me sick that you have a death sentence over your head. How can I be at peace with that? Tell me how I can deal with this because I sure as hell I can't" he said just at a whits end to the point that he was about to yell his head off. But did not due to the fact that he still had control over his emotions. This would be the closest that Valdis would ever see him yelling.

"I don't know what their level of control is, or what memories they have of their former selves. I can try to find out more for you if you would like. Considering Daddy sent them after me now I have an excuse for me to dig for a bit more information. For all we know they may have their full set of memories and function just as they once did...just with cyborg parts now...but then again they could also be programmed in the way that you think. There is too little information to be able to jump to a conclusion yet."

Val looked down at her lap, she could see that he was suffering through all of this. She ran a hand through her messy bangs... She didn't know how to comfort him in this situation... a deep sigh escaped her as she looked up and reached out and grasped his hand, giving it a small squeeze and a weak smile.

"People deal with it by not looking at what is to come but living in the moment; it's no different than a person getting diagnosed with a terminal illness. We both know that I am diving into the world of chaos....and no one who is going as deep as I am comes back. By the time the chaos is done with them there is not enough of that person left over to keep living. We desperately search for a way to save them; I know Sophia is and I can only hope she succeeds in her search. But until that happens...well it is a death sentence in itself to use chaos magic...Even if I live I will be damaged and broken. Take comfort in when it is time that I will no longer be plagued by dreams of the past, or have to feel my sanity and humanity slowly be eaten away...I once told Sophia that in order to protect the innocent from being stained we must stain ourselves in order to preserve them. I will live and die by those words."

She continued to hold his hand.

"But who knows maybe some miracle will happen and I will turn into a tree like the jumping bean, yes?""

Those last words were more for his benefit then hers.

"As long as I am here though, you do know you can lean on me for support if you need it right?"

Kail was trying to keep himself calm and then thought on her words a bit "Its hard...and its not much to take solice in that's for sure. I will try and do what I can to put that sense of dread behind me" he said and just tried to put that feeling behind him to try and live now. The redhead still feels her hand holding his and then kneels down slightly and then hugs Valdis. "Perhaps this is the one of the few touchy feely moment we will have and I just want to say this. You are perhaps one of the few people I would consider family like a younger sister. So I just wanted to let you know that " he said into Valdis's ear. As this was something he had not felt since he last saw his real parents. Plus this was the only time he could have gotten this out to her.

"I know it's not, but from experience I know it's better to live in the moment. You will drive yourself insane if you focus on things that have gone and things that are to come."

When he embraced her she returned the hug, biting her lip at yet another confession. A pang of guilt nagged at her; frankly him becoming this attached was not her goal. It was an error on the part of her judgment. A deep sigh escaped her lips as she pushed him back, she placed a soft kiss on his forehead and shook her head.

"Killian I am truly sorry....the last thing I wanted was you to get attached. I am not a person worthy of giving such a place in your heart to. I am someone you should hate, not love. I am knowingly asking you to keep a secret, and forcing you to act like nothing is amiss. I am asking you to put aside your humanity at the moment of my death, to act with a clear head. I know the pain and I know how much it will break you in the end, yet I still ask of you to bear this weight. You should be angry"

Truth was if she ever did have an older brother Kail would bit it....however she would not admit this...not now. She would have to distance herself from him now. This attachment would have to be broken some how.
