As the vile meat's energy came into conflict with Oni's he lets out a roar of pain, but as he does the burns that cover him begin to heal, not due to the meal he ate but instead due to it's own healing. As his body tense and his muscles go rigid the monster looks eyes with Sophia and his emotional influence would activate. Chaos and Discord spread as the chaos and Eris energy war.

As his wounds heal steam begins to rise from Oni's body, and as it settles Oni returns to Lance's form, however he looked little like the broke odd job's man who helped Sophia fix her bike. His eyes were so bloodshot that there was literally no white to them. His frown was crazed smile and his mouth, face and hands are covered in drying blood.

The terrifying grin widens as he looks at his hands and he lets out a maniacally laugh that made him look every bit as mad as the monster he had become. The laughter stops abruptly and he raises his hands to his face. "I've been given my death sense, my life and death have been given meaning." He chuckles though then his nose twitches as if he was smelling the air. "Let fear spread! Because the time has come for a monster who hunts monsters is born!" He shouts and then begins to stagger away.

Sophia eyes go wide with fear as discord disseminates through the area. For a few moments, an arrow of light forms as she considers getting the first shot on the creature, fearing that it may come after her.

However, the transformation back to a more human form prevents her from trying to shoot him down. The arrow disappears, but she’s still tense. She watches him nervously as he speaks. Even with the more normal appearance, sanity hadn’t returned to Lance, if it was ever there to begin with. It's not like she knew enough about him to tell if he was crazy before getting magical powers after all.

She considers going home as Lance stumbles off. It’d be so easy. Go home and hope the Knight of Eris doesn’t resurface again. And home seemed a far safer option than continuing to deal with the knight. However, nothing worth doing is ever easy.

She runs after Lance. “I’m not going to let you have some kind of dramatic exit. Let’s talk. Actually, let’s talk and run because neither of us should be anywhere near here when the military shows up.”

As Sophia runs up to him Lance continues to stagger away. His too red eyes turn towards her and he says "What do I care? A fight is a fight, besides I'm bound to fight them eventually if they keep going after my prey."

He raises his nose into the air and sniffs again, and as he does his smile fades. "Grrr, looks like the other one fled." he growls and turns towards her. Though his expression seems to finally be calming down now that there wasn't an opportunity for another battle. "What do you want kid? I fixed your bike so go on home, shoo shoo." He tells her with a shooing motion before returning to his exit, he was now walking at a faster pace.

Sophia shakes her as he mentions all fights being equal. Her expression is a mix of anger and fear. “No. Military, civilians… there all off limits,” Sophia says. “You want to fight youma… well, I don’t have a good reason to stop you at this point. But I’m not going to let you hurt any innocent people.” What was this one? Where was the sense of duty to protect?

However, she starts giving him a quizzical look when he calls her kid and tells her to shoo. That was a shift. If his behavior before was odd, she wasn’t even sure what to make of this now. “What?” Maybe… she just imagined everything? No, Lance had blood on him. “Listen, you’re covered in blood. The military is coming. And we need to be someplace far away from here before they show up. Or you need to at least get cleaned up. Preferably both. And we need to talk about this being a knight thing.”

As Sophia tells him that 'she would not let him hurt innocents' his eyes narrow and his muscles tense. "Listen little girl, I appreciate the money and cake, but do you really think you COULD stop me with those toy arrows?" He asks her his expression irritated as he picks up some snow and starts washing off some of the blood.

"If the military comes to attack me then that's that. If you don't want a blood bath then take it up with them." He says as he begins to look around a bit luckily his blood soaked cloths had been replaced by his normal ones so now that the blood was off his face and hands he looked more or less normal. He sniffs the air again but frowns. "Looks like I can't smell them like this, I'll need to do that transformation thing again to find more monsters to fight." He grumbles to himself, though he suddenly seems to remember something and starts walking in a direction.

"Anyways Girly, we've got nothing to do with each other anymore, if you want me to fix up your bike feel free to stop by the ramen place, but this is no place for you."

Sophia does feel a little helpless. What would she do stop Lance if he went on a homicidal rampage? Nothing effectual. Not really. She tries to push down the feelings of fear and anger. Supposedly, the knights and senshi were to work together to save the world. And even if she didn’t really see eye to eye with this one, they shared common goals. Besides, no one is ever actually so uncaring… so cruel. There had to be something knightly in Lance somewhere. Either way, she had to sell the idea of team senshi to him if she really believed in all the ideals she talked about. “I don’t really want to argue or start off on the wrong foot. I want to extend an invitation to work in a team to save the world from the Covenant. There’s a few other knights like yourself and senshi like me.”

“And if fighting is all you really care for, then working with us would give you better,” Sophia makes a slightly disgusted face as she continues, “prey than what you would get scrounging around in Shinjuku. If you wondered what Zodiac blood tastes like, we will take down Scorpio before the end of the week.”

However, with all amazing offers there is always a catch. “But the offer only stands if you don’t hurt innocent people. Regardless of whether I succeeded to stop you, if you hurt them, they’ll shoot you down. I don’t think even you could withstand some of the more advanced military weapons. Then we would have lost an asset. In addition, there are others of us who would be less hesitant than me to put you down if they deemed it necessary.”

She looks back toward the streets near the ramen stand. She really ought to get her bike and go home sooner rather than later. "You don't need to make a decision now though. I still need to get my bike permanently fixed, so I'll be around later."

Lance looks at her incredulously when she suggests he work with a team. "Listen, Sophia was it? I don't think you should get involved with this kinda thing. Go home, you've probably got a family, and one that probably cares about you. I've got no interest in joining a bunch idiots trying to save a doomed world." he tells her, and his eyes showed that he was serious. Then when she tried to make the pitch about 'prey' he snorted. "I wouldn't want to get in the way of your marry band of friends, besides I don't care what monster I fight and if I keep killing small fries the big ones will show up eventually."

As he continues down the street the two of them come to the main drag. "Besides now that this has happened I don't expect I'll live too much longer, but at least I get to fight until that point. I've got the power to slay these monsters so until I'm out of blood that's what I'll do."

Sophia shrugs as Lance tells her not to get mixed up in this. “I have the ability, so I have a duty to use it. I can’t really just watch other people get hurt if I could stop it… Supposedly, I can. There’s no choice for me to go back. I recently just found out a friend’s life depends on Scorpio dying by next week, so even if I wanted to, I couldn’t just go home. Be normal.”

“I wish they were a merry band of friends…” she muses. She gives him a sad look, “Things don’t have to end so poorly. And I don’t think this world is necessarily doomed. You took down a youma today… almost single-handedly. Don’t you think in a group we could all accomplish something so much more?”

“And I’ve got this thing. I don’t plan on seeing any knights die,” She proceeds to brighten up a bit, “So whether you like it or not, now I need to make sure you survive until however this ends. I may not be as good a fighter, but the others are better at it. And I’m good at healing. We can make sure none of us get hurt.”

"She's right." Artemis puts in. Somewhere in the middle of the battle, the white cat had the tip of his tail set on fire from one of the youma's attacks. Unseen to all present, a cat was fumbling in an alley to try to correct the 'on fire' thing. His tail would seem a little singed on inspection.

"You weren't given that power to be some kind of berserker who rampages throughout the town killing anything you run across, you were meant to stand against evil and keep the innocents of the world safe. If you don't realize that you will lose your powers and you will be just another target..." Artemis says seriously with a hint of dire warning to the wild knight of Eris.

Though knowing him, he will more than likely pay the mau no heed.
