”That may not always be an option, but you are right. But that’s a project to do outside of a battle field not on it…Allow me to talk to some people and I will see if we can start taking steps in the right direction.”

She was vague but she wasn’t about to give out grannys secret, or her promise. She would ask Granny first to possibly show Sophia her acquaintance… If they managed to reverse his damage then it would be beneficial for both Granny and Sophia…And those who were already lost to the covenant. Valdis gaze turned nasty when Sophia lectured her. It was a look that said she step across a line that should not have been crossed.

”Do not assume I do not take this seriously, if I did not then I would not be here trying to help you now. We will defeat Scorpio one way or another. I may have almost died by my regeneration is untrained and still new. He did not kill me when I am at my weakest; and now he has lost the element of surprise for that one attack. I learn from my failures I will not repeat them a second time…Plus he gave me a nice gift during that fight.”

They had to….if her vision came true there was something much worse than squid man waiting for them. But she nodded when she asked to save the conversation for later. Valdis continued to carve and noticed Sophia downed her drink.

”Would you like anything else? Food or something hydrating? I haven’t eaten since earlier today myself.”

She figured Sophia was the type to go hungry unless if someone else was eating with her…Valdis had technically eaten already but the white lie wouldn’t hurt. She looked down at her carving; the body was slowly coming along, at least the back half…

”Its Nazo”

Now the question was how the heck did Valdis know what Nazo’s body looked like.

“Don’t give me that look. If you think you are threatening, you give yourself more credit than you should,” Sophia says. She is somewhat expressionless.

“I wasn’t even asking you not to fight with us. I don’t think I can stop you and we need all the help we can get at the moment. But if you want to continue what you can do, you get a hospital bed next to Venus or feed Kishin’s tree…”

“Too many lives on the line and we have already lost two many for you use your like so recklessly. It matters to more than just you now. And I WILL NOT LOSE ANYMORE OF MY TEAM!”

She looks angry. As if she used up the emotion of sadness too much. “What am I doing sitting here? Moping. I don't have time for this... I need to get the senshi together and find Amarissa immediately. Scorpio’s running around with things that don’t belong to him, and we owe him for his gifts…” she says. Highly directed hatred flows off of her like a flood.

”You attempted to stop me once already remember? …Then Nazo helped you…. Wait Venus? Theres another one of you…and Jumping beans a tree??”

She blinked….then oh so casually asked.

”What kind of tree? And where?”

She actually was curious for a reason…Though little mouse suddenly let out a roar. Valdis seemed unphased as she grabbed a small cloth and vial off her desk.

”As for the night I got poisoned I actually did not know Scorpio was well Scorpio. I was busy turning on lights, heaters, and directing the ferret solstice t dump sand on the area. While I was having a blast doing it, I still had a plan and wasn’t running into it wily nilly. Reason I was up in the rafters was I did not think I would be able to take on one of those ice golems by myself so I escaped up into the rafters. My plan was to try to even out the playing field for those of you who were fighting”

She soaked the cloth;

”I like to soak my dolls in scents that are close to their owners, tell me does this smell Nazoish or at least good?”

She held up the cloth and pushed it against Sophias nose. If inhaled she would go down like a sack of rocks.

Sophia smacks away Valdis’ hand from her face, mostly from the sudden intrusion of personal space. She gets the feeling that Valdis is only vaguely listening. And that she is being hysterical. “I don’t know about the smell. My nose is stuffy anyways…”

She looks down, “I’m sorry for yelling and insulting you. You’ve been through more than I have. You don’t need to be told what is dangerous and what is not. And I'm not angry at you...”

“I watched Venus Knight awaken and blow up Scorpio in half, only for him to come back seconds later. I saw him choke all life out of Venus and impale Kishin. Then the ground swallowed the latter whole. And I was spared for being useless. Completely useless. I still am. I… don’t… recall much after that. Things get hazy… I think I should try to find a suitable place for the remainder of us to round up. The others should know,” she says, finally taking out her phone after hours.

“Suggestions?”

Valdis didn’t drop the cloth or really flinch, but held it up to her she really didn’t have any tissues in her room.

”Blow then, I have extra anyways.”

Valdis listened with curiosity as she described what had happened…Scorpio had regeneration abilities as well…. She added that as another notch in the freaky coincident box. Valdis frowned, it was a bit troublesome to hear that the jumping bean had been taken out….along with the new knight. She was a bit bothered she hadn’t had a vision on that…

”Interesting….same color, and regeneration as well….if he sings to me and him are going to have to have a chat”

Valdis stood and placed her hand on Sophias wrist bringing the phone down.

”It can wait until morning, people need there rest…and so do you so blow your nose and go lay down.”

Sophia looks at the time. It was late. Very late in the evening. Getting in contact with them all and having them all meet at this time would be difficult. “Alright,” she says. She takes the napkin. Blows.

The edges of her vision narrows like doors shutting. Then complete darkness.

She falls where she stands.

Valdis put down her carving knife and doll and stood up. She stepped forward as soon as Sophia brought the cloth to her nose, taking on her weight as she fell. Valdis proceeded to drag the girls unconscious body to her bed. Dropping her onto the mattress and tucking her in. Valdis then turned and went over to where the phone was dropped. Her face went up in a sneer….she hated cell phones…but Sophia mentioned something that troubled her. Valdis picked up the evil device that could only have been thought of by the devil himself. She scrolled through it and found a contact that would be her parents. She then sent off a quick text ’Hello, this is Valdis Mortimer Ito, one of Sophias friends. I found her at the harbor, she’s safe and sound and sleeping. I will return her to you in the morning” Valdis pressed send and place the phone on the desk. Valdis could sympathize with the pain her parents must be going through not knowing where their daughter was. It was only right to notify them that she was safe.

Valdis looked back over at the sleeping girl then looked into dead air. She needed to find out more about what happened…That and to find out if jumping bean was still alive.

”Nazo…I need you”

Her head was reeling, if she could…she would provide a slightly better tomorrow for Sophia to wake up to.
