Kousuke blushes a bit at Ama's words of comfort, he hadn't realized he had spoken the mantra aloud, and despite it being something he believed it was a bit...well embarrassing. "Hahaha, so you heard that huh? Well don't worry about it, I'm aware that I need to look out for myself as well, but you shouldn't worry about it. After all, I'm invincible." he says with a confident tone and a sureness and arrogance that can only belong to the young.

As Ama works around him Kousuke does his best to stay out of the way and gets up from the chair moving over to the doorway to get out of her way. He takes a seat on the floor, though he looks up at her a bit surprised when she says she's never been in a relationship before. "Is that so? I don't know why but I always kinda assumed you had some dating experience." He admits and realizes he really wasn't sure why he had made the assumption.

Though when she says Capt probably isn't her type Kousuke shakes his head. "Well I can't speak for you, but Capt is a really great guy, and he's very dependable so a lot of the girls who come to the games or to watch the practices come to see him." He explains, not even giving a thought to the idea they might come to see him. Though when she asks him why he told her that he thinks for a few seconds and says "not sure why I said it, I probably just didn't want you getting your hopes up. I'm not one to enjoy a friend being sad."

Amarissa laughed. "Yes it's true. Not one date and I'm 17. Kinda sad really. It's not even that no body's asked me, though only about 4 guys have I think. Perhaps my maturity fooled you?" she answers. Finished, she goes back to sit on the bed listening as he defends this friend of his. She holds her hands up in a gesture of surrender. "I'm sure he's great, but he does seem the type to keep a girlfriend from what little I've seen and heard. So, if he's taken he's obviously not my type as I am not the kind of woman to go stealing men," she says, sounding a bit proud and also kinda silly. So she laughs when he mentions getting her hopes up. "I assure you, you have nothing to worry about there. I could only get my hopes up if some girl snatched you up. Being a good friend of mine, that would take away much of your time I'm sure and that would be very sad indeed," she teased, laughing.

Kousuke's eyes widen a bit in surprise. "Oh, I didn't know you were younger than me Ama." he admits, Kousuke was 18, even if he acted about 10, he was relatively old for his grade since he had started school later than most kinds, but for some reason.

"Though four is a pretty good number, I bet you'd get more if you talked to some more guys." He tells her with an encouraging smile. Though he lets out a laugh when Ama brings up someone stealing him. "Hahaha, I don't think you need to worry about that, I've never been very popular. I got asked out once in fifth grade, but since entering high school not a single girl has approached me or even tried to make advances." He gives a winning smile "but such is the fate of a simple athlete." Of course the real reason Kousuke didn't think he was popular was that he was all kinds of oblivious and most girls were sort of nervous to approach him.

"Though, don't worry, even if by some chance I start dating. I will always have time for my friends." He assures her.

"You're older than me? I didn't know that," she says with some surprise. More shock follows when he admits he'd never been asked out. Then she realized that was probably because the girls were all too scared. "The other girls are scared. Bunch of half wit cowards with no motivation," she says, a bit annoyed. Then laughs when he says he'll always have time for friends. "That's a relief. How did we get on this subject anyway?" she wonders.

"Hahaha, now now you're being too harsh on the girls. No one should be judged for their preferences. I'm aware I'm not really dating material." He admits with a calming smile. Though when Ama laughs he ends up joining in. It felt really good to laugh in genuine enjoyment, it felt like it had been a long time since he had enjoyed anything but basketball. "To be honest I've got no idea how we ended up here, but I think it's a good thing we did. I certainly feel a lot better. Kinda lame when I came here to cheer you up."

Amarissa shrugs in response to his comment about the girls, willing to just drop the subject. "I think that's a matter of opinion," she says, winking at him as she chose to address his not being dating material instead, laughing again and wondering if she was kidding. She supposed not. After all, Kousuke seemed to be pretty smart and he was kinda handsome even. To any girl, that should be good dating material. Shaking her head, she listened as he continued to talk and she shook her head when he mentioned the situation being lame. "No, it's not lame. It's a good thing, like you said. I'm glad you came to see me. It's been a long week and sometimes I wonder if anyone cares about me. Mom loves me of course, but she's so busy with the bank now a days, and I don't really have any close friends. Just people I talk to at school, like Sophia, Val, Kietha, and you," she admitted. Of course it was her fault, she was a bit of an introvert. "I'm generally withdrawn from others. I haven't been this social since, well, ever really. Honestly, if either of us isn't dating material, it's me. I'm too plain and socially inept," she says lightly, making it obvious that t doesn't really bother her as much as it should. Noticing the time, she wonders idly who her mother was planning to have over. Probably clients or co workers as usual.

Kousuke thinks on her comment about it being a matter of opinion, it was after all. "If you say so." he says with a shrug. Though when she mentions that she was glad he made he nods and smiles, though his smile turns to a frown as she says she was wondering if anyone cared and mentioning not having any close friends. He walks over and hugs her lightly.

"Hey now, we're in this together so of course we care. I don't know about how you see me, but to me you are certainly a friend and it makes me sad to hear that you think otherwise. Feel free to give me a call if you are ever feeling like that again and I'll swing by when I have a chance. Also, you're a better girl than most I know, so make sure to find a guy that can match up to you." He insists as he starts moving towards the door with a wave.

"Thanks Kousuke. I'm glad too, and you're right. You are a good friend," she agreed, smiling. The thought made her happy. It seems Nazo was right after all. "Have a nice day and feel to drop by again anytime. It was a pleasure," Amarissa agrees. She gets up to follow him, walking him out as is polite. Once they reach the front door, she holds it open as well. "Sorry about my mom, by the way. She's really nice when she's not busy. See you around, Kousuke. Probably soon, I'm sure." she says laughing as she waves.
