Although Sailor Mars welcomed the unexpected help, she couldn’t help but feel somewhat angered by the Mars Knight’s words.

”What do you mean issue a challenge? If anything this would be my fight,” she argued. Yuki had been here first after all. However, now was probably not the time for the two of them to be arguing s the Mars Knight was suddenly attacked.

In additions to this, the youma mentioned personally cutting down the military, which hit home for Yuki, who was constantly worrying about her oldest brother.

”You know, I think I liked the very first covenant monster I ever had to fight. It didn’t talk.” Sailor Mars was determined to crush this thing. She could only hope the Mars Knight was ok. As prideful and stubborn as she was, Yuki realized she might actually be in need of his help to defeat this thing. So far it had taken both their attacks and was still up for more.

”Fire dash!” As she spoke, flames began to dance around Mar’s feet, increasing her speed as she charged forward towards the youma. Before getting too close she then leapt and shouted, ”Shooting Flame Kick!” sending her fireball attack towards the youma mid-air.

Kail was wide eyed as the Oni had counter attacked him while he was shifting into another battle stance and saw that he was going to be flying into a car. He knew that if he hit the car, there would be a massive amount of pain and would not be able to get to Valdis and get to the meeting. So the only thing that Kail could have done was his armor. "FURY ARMOR" he called out in haste and the flames from his blade wrapped around him and transforming him. It was just in the nic of time as he just crashed into the car and felt almost nothing and hears the youma speak. Kail's eyes behind the helmet turn into slits and gets out from the wreckage. Clutching his now super heated blade in his right hand and watches Sailor Mars go after the thing.

Although the Oni was now covered in a steel like skin which was a disadvantage and perhaps a advantage as well. "Alright Sailor Mars how about we put down a bet on who kills this thing first. If I win and if I find out your identity, I'll take you out on a date. If you win, I will do anything you want for one day" he said trying to encourage and really fire up the senshi. To motivate her even more as Kail was trying to study the enemy, he went in carefully and swiftly trying to land a heavy blow to the Oni's chest with his sword. Since his katana was super heated that it could cut through the Oni's steel skin.

The fireball lands in the youma's face, but it leaves no damage due to the hard metal skin shrugging of the fiery blast.. The youma grins and lunges forward, grabbing Yuki's outstretched leg and holding her up, the iron grip of the youma constraining the circulation to the senshi's left leg. However Killian's rush to attack forced the youma to turn to him, holding Yuki between itself and the Mars Knight which would undoubtedly cause the Mars Knight to undoubtedly withhold his attack. This creature was using the senshi as a human shield...a despicable if not effective tactic.

"Now, now, now armor man, you don't want to turn shortskirt here into giblets do you?" the creature taunts, maintaining an iron grip. However, while upside down, Yuki may notice a faintly glowing metal attachment on the creature's black belt.

A startled expression formed on Yuki’s face as the youma, seemingly unfazed by her attack, lunged forward and tightly grabbed onto her leg.

”Ouch….let go of me freak!” She tried kicking the youma’s hand with her free leg. Being in her current situation along with the short-skirt comment, Yuki’s face turned bright red in both anger and embarrassment. She hadn’t been paying full attention to the stakes, but the Mars Knight had mentioned something about a bet for being the one to beat this thing.

”Oh this bet is so on.” Though first, she would need to figure out how to get out of her current predicament. It was then that Yuki noticed some sort of shiny metal object on the youma’s belt. Figuring it might be a weapon or some other sort of useful object, Yuki did the only thing one does when noticing a shiny object; she reached out a grabbed it, yanking the object towards her.

Kail pissed off that the Oni was using Sailor Mars as a human shield. But he continued his attack and still cam forward and just the last few feet he jumps and flips over the youma and lands behind him. Knowing that this thing would be slower to react, Since the Oni now had a metal armored skin it would be slower. Second it had Sailor Mars in one of its hands. This was reckless on his part but he had to keep the momentum going on the creature. As soon as Kail landed he turns quickly and charges the Oni intending to slice the demon on his back or at least his legs. This was all hoping that the Oni was slower then him. That and Kail also hoped that his armor was lighter then it looked.

The Mars Knight was at least glad that his senshi counterpart was fired up for the fight. Although felt bad she was well being hanged upside down like that. Since she could do nothing to get out of the Oni's iron grip, but he hoped that she could distract the Oni for a bit to land this blow on it. This was of corse if things were going like he wanted it.

As Sailor Mars starts tugging at the gem, the youma's skin flickers for a moment. It was too securely fastened to be easily pulled off, but the act was just enough to allow Killian's attack to land on normal flesh. The Oni was distracted by having to tug Mars Senshi away from the buckle to restore it's metal skin before Killian's blade had already bitten flesh. The creature howls in pain, dropping Sailor Mars in the process, while spinning and using his fist to again fly at Killian, though this attack was heavily, heavily telegraphed. The Oni, regardless of hit or miss, leaps back, to reposition himself in a way that keeps both senshi and knight from seeing his back. The metal armor flickers back on, but if either can get behind the Oni, they will notice that the creature's enchantment didn't properly recover where it got wounded as the acidic blood drops down the creature's back.

"You dirty brats..." the youma complains. It slams it's fists together again, then raises them over his head, smashing the ground. The ice, snow, and earth begin to crack and spread, as a fissure begins to open, attempting to swallow both senshi and knight into the dark of the Earth below.

Being upside down made it somewhat difficult to tell what was going on, but when Mars pulled on the gem she thought she saw the youma’s armor skin flicker for a moment before suddenly being dropped. Yuki stood up slowly; checking to make sure her foot wasn’t significantly injured.

Yuki had yet to notice the injury on the youma’s back, but before she was able to figure out her next move the youma slammed its fists into the ground creating another fissure attack.

”Fire dash!” Yuki yelled, needing the boost of speed to get out of the way in time before being swallowed up by the ground. This was the point in which she had had enough. Concentrating, Sailor Mars pooled together her energy in what she hoped would be a final attack.

”Shooting…Flame…Kick!” Mars launched a large fireball attack as hard as she could at the youma, angling the attack so that it would curve and hit the youma’s side in hopes that the blast from the attack would at least knock it over.

Killian smiled as the Oni took a massive hit to his back and saw it roar in pain. He sees the incoming fists and easily doges the blows by ducking under them with ease. The knight was going to counter attack but missed his chance as the Oni had used it a distraction to get away. Killian tracks it and sees it away from the two of them and it gets its metal armor on. He looks at Sailor Mars and sees her get to her feet and then looks back the oni to see it gather its energy and slam down to the ground. Kail was not stupid and turned off the armor and jumped up to his right to a wall. He then stabbed his sword into the wall to get some elevation on the Oni. He then reached to his back sheath and pulled out a curved knife and raised an eyebrow. Then had a crazy idea.

"CINDER FLARE" he called out and then threw the knife at an angle. To Kail's surprise the knife started to spin into a speed that it would be considered a flying and flaming saw blade. Kail had hoped that this attack would come back to him as it would slice into the oni again. But from the arc it would more then likely hit. The redhead had also hoped that Sailor Mars's attack would land as he saw her speeding around like the road runner. Then launch her fireball attack on the Oni "Sailor Mars we need to get this guy into the open. If this guy gets backed into a corner we might be screwed from attacking his weak point" he said waiting for his knife to come back before continuing the assault on the Akuma look alike.

The youma was left prone from using the Fissure attack, since his body had to recharge energy that was used to break the Earth itself. When Yuki evaded and took to a side attack, the fireball would curve just slightly to the point it landed not quite on the exposed spot, but the splash of the fiery explosion seared into it causing the creature to howl in a rage. The weak point would be expanded due to fiery impact, as the metal thick skin were blown off by the powerful heat from Sailor Mars. Shortly after, Killian's previously unseen technique surges into the back of the creature, again striking the back wound. Hot blade would spin and mangle the tainted meat of the creature, and it was in shock from the physical damage inflicted upon it. At the end of it, a spot begins to light up on the chest of the Oni, as the accumulated heat energy from the two attacks swells up: the Kuriki blade picked up on the lingering planetary energy from Sailor Mars and added it to the intensity of it's own attacks.

The glowing spot erupts in a small, somewhat circular burst of energy that left a hole in it's chest. The creature began to leak it's energy out, and it fell to the ground. The light in it's eyes began to fade rapidly.

"...Curse...you two..." the monster says, coughing up blood and then glaring at Sailor Mars since she was on ground level and easiest to see. "..You kids think...you're smart. When Virgo gets pissed off enough, she will burn this entire island to the ground, and all of you in it..." he states, coughing again. "She holds the power of the sun itself...run...run and hide little girl...little man..." the creature says, then pushing and crawling towards the fissure...but the last of it's energy faded before it could fall in, and it turned to dust, leaving a quiet battlefield that smelled strongly of ash.

As far as the competition between the Mars pair was concerned...let them figure it out.

"You two...what exactly just happened here..." a voice familiar to Yuki would say a moment later. Makato was leaning against a wall, out of obvious sight, clearly having seen at least part of the battle. When Mars Knight dropped her off, she recovered a few moments later and told all of her students to go home for their own safety, with a vigorous threat of punishment if they refused. Having made her way back, she found the fire overloaded confrontation between guardian and monster and wisely chose to stay out of it that time.

She takes steps towards where Yuki was, looking at the hole in the Earth. She still looked strong, but a slight limp indicated mild, but bearable pain in the martial artist's form. She looks up at where Killian was hanging from a building with his knife, and she sighs a little.

"...I hope that's not the wall to my building...ugh, insurance had better cover this kind of crap..." she bemoans out of nowhere, almost comically. But she then looks at Yuki sharply.

"So...who are you, and how did you have those...fire things...that are like the Covenant freaks' abilities?" she says, looking at Yuki sternly since Killian was out of reach. "You don't have a look of evil in your eyes, but you definitely aren't military...those guys couldn't do something like this in a thousand years. "

Yuki was glad to see that their last sets of attacks were able to finish the youma off. She had put most of her remaining energy in that last one after all. As for the words the creature managed to give before being finished off, she figured they were simply empty threats spoken by an enemy that was already defeated. When the youma finally turned to dust, Yuki let out a relieved sigh.

”That was tougher than I thought I would be.” Though as she thought back, she suddenly remembered the bet she and the Mars Knight had made in the middle of the battle.

”You wouldn’t have managed that last blow if I hadn’t attacked it first.” Although Yuki didn’t even remember the stakes of the bet, she certainly didn’t like to lose. Before she could continue arguing her point however, a familiar voice caused Yuki to freeze momentarily in panic. She realized she couldn’t just make a run for it either; she had left all her stuff back in the gym which might lead to suspicion as to why it was left there. Well at least Kino-sensei wasn’t the military so she might be willing to hear Yuki out without turning her in.

”Ah look….um Sensei….it’s not…well yes that thing was one of the Covenant monsters far as I could tell. But we aren’t like them! I’m not sure how exactly, but we have power to fight those Covenant-youma whatever their called.” Yuki realized she was rambling somewhat and looked to her knight counterpart for help.

”Anyways, we have the power to fight those things, but if we’re not careful the military might mistake us for the enemy see? Please don’t tell anyone” Yuki as Sailor Mars clasped her hands together. Well she wasn’t exactly the best at explaining things but her words were genuine.

Kail extended his hand as his knife came flying back to his hand and sheaths it. He grins when Mars starts trying to argue her way out a bit saying without her attack he would not have gotten the final blow. None the less he won the bet and looks down "Yes but in the end I still won the bet. Anyway once I find out who your identity is I'll be asking you out on a date" he said and was going to continue but hears someone approaching and sees the woman from earlier limping out to see what was going on. Kail almost shot the woman that it was not his fault that the damage was done. He had to take out the rampaging youma down or else it would have hurt or even killed others.

None the less the redhead pulls out his sword and drops to the ground safely as he heard the conversation between the woman and Sailor Mars. "I feel the same as her in some way, and honestly I don't know why either of us have these powers but we are not a part of the Covenant. None the less fate gave us these powers for a reason. I am not sure what my partner is going to use them for. But I am going to use this power and restore earth to the lush green world it once was then a frozen dead world" he spoke in a honest and sincere tone of voice. Plus his body language shifted as well to give the impression that he was telling the truth. As Makoto with her experience as a martial artist would pick something like this up.

Kail turns to Sailor Mars"I wish I was optimistic as you are.....but I think the military already sees us as a enemy. I think we should get going now before they really show up" he said wanting to leave the area now. Since he did not know how long it would take for the military to get to his location.

"Sensei? So you must be one of my students...though I'd think I could recognize you if that were the case..." she says, approaching Sailor Mars and looking at her, leaning in just to the edge of her personal space to try to figure out who she is. Fortunately, the senshi magic obscured her identity, so it didn't reveal her to Makoto's discerning eyes. She then exhales a little, and looks at the male who hopped down and went into his speech on fixing the world.

"Fixing the world you say? Ambitious...though it would be nice to see the cherry blossoms again...I remember when I used to practice in the park with Cherry blossoms in bloom, hoping I might have met my soulmate one day..." she says, having a slight fantasy moment. Those who actually followed Makoto's history in the martial arts world would know Makoto had terrible, terrible luck in the love life from sensationalized stories of bad breakups and exboyfriends ending up in the hospital after poor conduct.

That thought aside, she snaps out of her daze, and looks at Sailor Mars.

"Even if you have some kind of special power...that fighting was really sloppy. An enemy like that you keep on the ground and disoriented, using their mass against them. It's one of the basic steps in combat: if you keep your opponent disoriented, then they can't retaliate...like that monster probably had to stand upright to make that big hole in the ground.." she says, eyeing the chasm and sighing a little. But her seriousness returns as she looks at Mars and Mars.

"...If you are in my class, then I'll offer you a chance for a direct apprenticeship. It will be a lot harder than the self-defense class, but I can tell in both of your actions, you mean the truth. It's hard to accept that some kids have magic that can defeat those...Coveyouma, or whatever you call them, but I saw it for myself." she says, exhaling and looking.

"Your secret would be safe with me, clearly the military has had eight years to make progress against them, and yet you've done in one day what would have cost the military a lot more in blood. But the decision will be up to you. As far as you go..." she says, looking at the male guardian.

"You could improve in your swordplay as well. I'm not as good at it having focused on the unarmed styles, but I have a friend who is a master swordsman, Takebo Inada. I don't know what you think of your abilities, but I'll leave the option for you." Makoto says, then turning and beginning to walk away. "You should leave soon...the ambulances and army response will be here shortly. The option for you to come to me is on you." she says firmly, though the limp is still there from the soreness.

Yuki’s jaw practically dropped when the Mars Knight mentioned a date. She wasn’t quite sure how to react to that, though some color began to pool around her cheeks. Although she was surprised to see Kino-sensei approach them, it at least meant she didn’t have to respond right away.

”Uh…” Yuki had slipped when she referred to the other as Sensei. However, even when Makoto got really close she didn’t seem to recognize her, which was a relief just to know that the whole disguise magic thing really did work.

When Killian joined the conversation, Yuki had to admit he seemed to have much more ideal goals than her own.

”And you say I’m optimistic…” she muttered. Honestly all Yuki wanted to do was use her powers to protect those she cared about, as clichéd as it sounded. Save and restore the entire world? Even to her that seemed too lofty of a goal and too few of others like her and the Mars Knight to accomplish it.

When Makoto started lecturing her, Yuki looked down slightly at her feet, not realizing the other had been watching most of it. She typically just tried blasting fireballs at the enemy until they went down, in a brute force approach. When Makoto offered direct training though, Yuki clasped her hands together looking up with an excited expression in her eyes.

”Really?! That’d be awesome…” she had come here wanting to learn unarmed combat after all. She nodded at the suggestion of leaving quickly.

”Thanks Sensei! I’ll come by in a day or two to pick up my stuff.” And with that she ran off.
