The sound of a piano drifted through a closed door; its melody hypnotically sad. An angelic voice wafted from the room. The emotion pouring from the voice gripped the hearts of those who were listening. It may have sounded somewhat familiar, for it was the song that gained her access into the entertainment industry. As you opened the door you would see no one other then Valdis standing up at the piano plucking away at the notes. Although half way through her song she broke out into a cough and gripped her throat…upon closer inspection a feverish red blushed her cheeks. She reached for a glass of water set upon a bookcase nearby and took a sip. Brushing threw papers set on the piano, making a note here and there. There was also some unrelated paper mixed in with the music sheets…ones that ironically looked like toe tags.

”If you have a cold, it would be more advantageous of you to rest,” Rosaline spoke soon after opening the door. It hadn’t taken her long to access Valdis’ current health. However, she spoke only as though she was making a casual observation, knowing full well the singer wouldn’t rest if she didn’t want to.

Walking into the room, Rosaline wore the same outfit she had been wearing that morning in the coffee shop, a vintage dress with a white top with capped sleeves and a ruffled collar that attached to a brown skirt layered in ruffles. Her jacket, which she had already removed, was draped over her arm. Her instruments were locked away in a nearby closet so she didn’t have to lug them around the city.

”I’ve come up with a few new compositions if you are interested in taking a look at them." Rosaline pulled out a few papers and placed them on an available space on the piano. She then gently placed her hand against Valdis’ forehead. She felt warm.

”Are you in need of ice or anything?”

Valdis waived her off, she would rest when she felt like it and not a moment sooner. They had too much to finish before the upcoming concert. Like Rosa she was in the clothes she wore this morning, black leather pants with knee high boots and a black peasant shirt with long billowing sleeves. By this point both Rosa and Val had come to the mutual understandings that normal greetings were at times not needed. A smile broke across Valdis’s face when the pink haired beauty mentioned knew compositions.

”Of course Rosa chan”

She walked over and patted the girls head.

”You know I love your compositions. You come up with some of the best melodies”

She planned on making those melodies heard one day, together along with the others Val was confident that they would create something wonderful. Something that would create an impact among thousands. Not just the dribble they were having to poor out now; of course they only got chances like this to work on the pieces that they wanted to, and chances like this only came in between the managers Valdis was oh so talented of getting rid of.

Valdis picked up the papers and leafed through them, instantly humming the melodies written on the paper. Though she was stopped when she felt a cool hand on her forehead, she blinked…apparently her cold was worse than she had first thought.

”I’ll take some medicine in a bit; and we’ll finish up a bit early…as much as I dislike to…So don’t worry about it Rosa chan”

She placed down the papers and picked up a toe tag with Rosa’s name on it.

”Rosa chan how would you like to attend my first sleep over; Daddy went ahead and invited an acquaintance over for dinner…and I took it a step further and made it into a big sleep over. So obviously you have to come as well.”

Kail had been in another corner reviewing some class work that his students had handed in. So far the grading was average as some were doing well then others. And the others that were not doing so well were falling greatly. For him it was a shame that could not give some students some one on one instruction. But the Japanise school system was not made for something like that.

But he put down his currant work load and listened to Valdis singing and playing the piano. It was something surprising to hear this kind of talent. He had tried to tell Val, to take something for at least the cough. But she being her boneheaded self just went off ahead and was doing her own thing. The red head sighed and was going back to his grading until someone else came in.

His watchful eyes, saw a pink haired female walk in dressed quite nicely which got Kail's attention. Her movements were elegant strides, almost gliding across the floor. Then the two spoke to each other and it seemed that they were more then the normal friends. But Valdis was far from being a normal girl. Which meant that this was just normal? None the less he watched both Valdis and Rosa speak.

It just agitated that she blew him off but would listen to Rosa? Perhaps he just didn't understand women at all. He got back into his grading a second time. That was until Valdis dropped a bomb, she was having a sleepover and did not tell him! Kail put his papers down next to the chair he was sitting in. He frist coughed to get both women's attention. "Forgive the interruption ladies but...Valdis. Why didn't you tell me you were planning a sleepover" he had no idea she had planed this.

Rosaline nodded when Valdis told her she would take some medicine and leave early today. She knew it was a lot to ask of someone like Valdis and was thankful the girl was looking after her health. The two were very similar when it came to their work ethic after all.

When Valdis handed her the toe tag, Rosaline took it with a slightly puzzled look on her face.

”Sleep….over?” It took her a moment, but she recalled someone explaining such an event to her once before. Needless to say, Rosaline had never actually been to one herself. Although her face appeared indifferent, a careful observer might pick up that she was actually quite pleased by the invitation.

”Well I should be free that evening…though I am unaccustomed to such events.”

It was then that her attention was brought to a red-headed male that had been present in the room. Rosaline was accustomed to bodyguards and the like, which was why she hadn’t given him much attention beforehand. Rosaline now examined the man carefully, judging whether or not he seemed fit to protect Valdis. His overall frame wasn’t extremely large, but he did appear to be athletically fit. There were no apparent weapons on him that she could tell and the papers he was working on implied that this was not his sole occupation, not to mention the way he addressed Valdis. In other words, this man was not a very typical bodyguard, an interesting fact which highly intrigued Rosaline.

”I don’t believe we have met. May I ask your name?” Normally etiquette called for Rosaline to give her own name first, however the unknown circumstances that led to this man being here made her suspicious. However her words were still soft and formal, so as not to cause the man to become overly defensive.

She knew Rosa would be pleased with the invitation. A large grin spread across her face; unlike her rosy counterpart Vals emotions were splayed across her face. Surprisingly she was actually looking forward to the shenanigans she was planning.

”You won’t be the only one there who’s not use to such things”

Val looked over at Kail when he made a noise saying he wanted attention. She just smiled and pulled out another to tag walking up to Kail and placing it in his hand.

”Your invited to…although Daddy might not like boys…. so how you show up is up to you. Be creative, I look forward to seeing what you’ll come up with …As for why you weren’t informed it was because it was literally just planned…

She looked at her watch.

”About ten hours ago. I met up with a little mouse in the botanical gardens this morning and Daddy decided to invite her for dinner...So I took it a step further. That said I rode my bike down to the craft store and picked up supplies. Then a bit of coffee, and a hair dryer later I got it looking like old parchment, sent it threw the printer and voila toe tags. Bloods splatters even real!”

At that last statement Val seemed very proud of herself.

"I'm Killian Lancaster, miss Rosa" Kail said as he saw that Rosa was still very hesatent around him. Although it seemed that she did not trust him in some way. He could not blame the girl at all , but she was still being nice to him. "Lets just say this is not my normal er job if you will" he said not sure how to explain himself. As Kail did not know if Rosa was someone like himself or just a normal civilian. So he was not sure how to proceed on this at all. Which could be very well seen with his body language. Since it looked like he was unsure of himself on the situation at hand.

Although that changed when Valdis spoke up about the sleepover and it just made him facepalm after getting the toe tag. Kail could very well understand Val's father in some way to let a 21 year old into this. But he could not really get out of this situation at all and it felt like blackmail. She then went on about most of her day and it just felt a bit disturbed that she was gloating about the blood splatters to be real. I have no say in the matter do I " he said with a deadpan expression on his face. He was going to have to figure out something quick or something bad would happen with his social life or life in general. On top of the fact that he was a super hero , as it seemed that his troubles were going way out of hand.

Rosaline calmly stared as Killian introduced himself. She still couldn’t quite figure him out, but sensed that directly trying to ask him may not work.

”Normal or not, I’m sure I can expect you to be able to perform your duties adequately,” she spoke, her words full of their own implications.

”My full name is Rosaline Ishida” Normally only Valdis called her Rosa, but she didn’t want to appear anymore standoffish than she had been already. Deciding to try and change gears, Rosaline brought out her phone.

”Speaking of expectations….what is generally done at these ‘sleep overs’. Should I be bringing anything?” she asked, typing the word in to see what comes up in a search.

Val leaned in and whispered into Kails ear.

”Just to let you know Rosa chan came up when we first met, I used it cause it use to piss her off. She’s not really into the whole shortening the name thing”

What had started out as a way to annoy her turned into a long lasting tradition. Now Val couldn’t imagine calling her anything else. But she did remember how much it use to bother her. All though when he asked if he had a say in the matter Vals eyes went wide and a pout formed on her face. It was like he just kicked a puppy.

”You’d want to miss my first sleep over? Even when I worked so hard on your invite”

She even had a lip quiver in there; knowing him his honor wouldn’t let him refuse…so no he really didn’t have a say in the matter. Although her expression turned back to normal when Rosa spoke; she smiled and patted her on the shoulder.

”Rosa chan I wouldn’t of hired him if I didn’t have trust in his abilities. He’s already proven useful even before I hired him. “

Her faced blanked when asked what one normally did at sleep overs.

”Actually I don’t know….Originally I thought it was girls getting together with lots of snacks and loud noise…I was just recently informed my pre conception of trading undies was incorrect….So now I’m kinda winging it on my own. So if you think of something by all means I’m open to suggestions”

Kail raised an eyebrow slightly when she said something about Rosaline's not wanting her named shortend. He shrugged and guessed that they were not on friendly terms yet so he could understand that reasoning. But when he saw Valdis giving him the puppy dog look he sighed and did not have a choice. Plus somehow she would have pulled somesort of blackmail to be used on him. Although he could sense some hostility from Rosaline from the get go and figured that she did not trust him to look after Valdis . The redhead had that in spades from being a knight of mars with flame powers. Plus he had experience with wielding a sword or a sword like object and busting up some skulls. "As Valdis said I have proven myself . So do not underestimate me or I can surprise you" he said and pretty much knew know she hated his guts with a passion just from her tone. But they did just meet so perhaps it was just a rough start.

Kail stayed silent as he had no idea in general for a sleepover since it was rare for even him when he was younger or several years ago. "I guess I could bring a few of my stories and read them for everyone. Maybe games or something like a large board game" he offered his opinion on the matter. He could do other things but again did not know what.

Rosaline knew Valdis truly would not have hired this person if he was not capable, so she let the matter go at least for now. She would in fact figure out what is angle was eventually. Valdis didn’t tend to go around personally hiring her bodyguards, so Rosaline knew there was something different about this one however only time would tell at this point.

As Valdis mentioned her tentative plans for the sleepover, Rosaline skimmed the search results on her phone. Unlike the lead singer, she had no issue using such devices.

”Ah yes….according to this snacks and loud noises are definitely part of the event.” She paused, reading some more. ”Oddly though, there doesn’t seem to be any mention of actually sleeping much at these so called ‘sleep overs’ There is also however suggested activities such as movies, ghost stories, nail painting, and pulling pranks.” These all seemed like relatively trivial things, but the site insisted that these were all highly rated activities.

When Killian mentioned board games, Rosaline looked up at him.

”It does mention those as well. I have never played such games before. Do they provide sufficient entertainment?”
