”Music is my rest and recreation; when it’s something your passionate about its not work…the crap that the agency has me put out is work…”

Right now her sound to her had no meaning, yes it sounded pretty but that was about it. There was nothing behind it, no depth. But that was how things normally went in the entertainment industry; top spots quickly came and went. Her thought process was changed when he commented about her clothing, she chuckled, Valdis rarely got colds, if she did she had to have done something extreme to get them.

”The reason for my cold lies in a similar reason to why I hired you. I had been dressed for the weather but short story short by the time the situation was over my clothes were ripped almost to shreds, I had been blinded and burned by someone similar to you, and then left in the middle of the woods. I ended up at the shrines where I met that man you saw me with today. By the time he found me I was so cold and tired sleeping on the graves at the shrine seemed like a very comfy idea. So you could guess by that point the damage was already done. Today I woke up with a bitch of a sore throat and a cough.”

Val was now curious to what his work was.

”What do you do for work?”

Valdis paled when he said he’d be forcing her to carry a cell phone. Those things just weren’t right..They were dirtier then toilet seats, they immediate weird waves, one could be tracked by a cell phone, and in position her phone could easily be tapped on a whim…. Plus she was convinced the covenant invented them to brain wash the general public. Valdis instantly adopted a look of a kicked puppy.

”Do I have to …can’t I just call Nazo and use him instead…. “

She sighed as she gracefully slid into the cab; placing the desserts on her lap.

"Pardon me I did not know" Kail felt rather pissed off that someone left Valdis there in the cold in that condtion. You don't do that to a fellow human being and was going to have a few words with those people sooner or later. But for now he had to deal with the here and now. Once he got into the cab he gave his home address and the cabbie gave a nod and was heading in that direction.

"I'm mostly a writer and I do make a lot of stories. But I don't have a publisher. I am also trying to get some degrees in collage. Plus while at the collage I have to sub for the creative writing classes" said Kail as he just got comfortable in his seat. Then hears Valdis whining about carrying a cellphone. Everyone had one these days it was nessasry evil to have. It made him wonder why she was so afraid of a cellphone.

"Look your going to get one, and I will get it purified by a priest. But what's your real fear of cell phones? " asked Kail as he just gave an odd look to the girl. As people his age tricked out there cellphones. And girls just used them for everything like it was there world in some degree.

”Well now you certainly have a lot of writing material. What type of stories do you usually write? If it is something I might be interested in I wouldn’t mind reading some of your works.”

Perhaps she would enjoy a new story and perhaps she would enjoy them whilst out on set or in other public places. It was also good to hear that he was in college, which meant this arrangement would be beneficial for both of them…and whilst it was beneficial she knew she could expect a competent body guard. Though as he pushed the cell phone issue she pouted and crossed her arms over her chest. She then looked at him with an arched eyebrow when he asked her what her deal with cell phones was.

”Unlike you or another person there’s less legal hoops for a certain person to tap my cell phone. Plus there dirty, and people can track you by them, they make annoying noises, and I’m easily entertained…it would be a distraction. Plus I can use payphones or home phones well enough, and nothing beats the unexpected old fashion pop up.”

She highly disliked the idea of using a cell phone.

”So how far is it to your house?”

"I tend to write fantasy stories that end up into novel length. I can print a few chapters for you when I get we get to my house. But I tend to go all over of the place, my main area I need to work on is romance and comedy. I can't do jokes that well and the other its just I guess complicated" said Kail as he reflected on what he has written. But those were weak areas and was going to try do either a romance or comedy story to see if he could get better.

"Its a nessasary evil in this world. I mean sure wiretaps are going to happen. Eh that's if you did something wrong or got it directly from a parent. You can set the phone on vibrate and it would not make a noise. And lastly your cloak and dagger friend my not be always around" he said and tried to shoot down each of the issues she had. Well to the best of his ability especialy dealing with a girl like Valdis.

"We are coming up to it now" said Kail as they pulled up to his house. It looked like your normal higher end japanise home. Nothing too special about it from the outside so far.

”Well then this partnership might be beneficial for you after all, I’m a riot…Or well at least I amuse myself well. As for romance your on your own, I happen to share that weakness with my music. I suppose you actually have to have experience before you can imagine the rest. Or you find a subject matter and study it.”

Valdis reflected on the thought for a bit, if she had to sing a love song, or anything really really up beat then she tended to lack the depth and emotion in her voice. Sounded pretty but really there was no meaning or soul behind the words. It was partly what was stumping her now in her career. She would need to overcome it if she wanted to continue to rise. But going back to the original topic she did enjoy fantasy.

”I will enjoy reading your work then.”

Valdis raised an eyebrow as he attempted to argue the cell phone issue…he had no clue how over protective her dad could be…especially if he found out about the covenant attacks…

”You don’t know my father, when he finds out about these …incidents, then I’ll be watched like a hawk. Which is why I’m hiring you to quell any babysitting ideas that may or may not pop into my Dads head in the near future. If he also finds out I obtained a cell phone I’m positive it will be used to track me…and if I’m tracked wouldn’t that be problematic to you? I concede on the sound argument and for Nazo he may be cloaked but I don’t think he has daggers….more like metal claws… “

Val looked on in interest as they pulled up to the home, much smaller then where she currently lived but bigger and nicer then her home in Transylvania.

”It looks very nice”

Kail was glad that he was not the only one that was struggleling in that area of human emotion. Although perhaps it was more worse off for Valdis since she was in the music business. And her fans would be craving for something like that more then him since she was more out in the public. He first deals with the cabbie and pays the fee for there ride and it was not too bad on his bank account. The redhead gets out and goes over to Valdis's side and opens the door for her "Ok...I can not refute on your father due to the fact that he has that much power at his fingertips. You got me there but I will be thinking of something though" he said and would have to think about it. But he helps Valdis out and takes a look at his house.

"Yes it , my mother worked hard on the outside before the Neo Ice Age. At the time I did not even consider her my mother" he said and went into one of his pockets and pulls out his house keys and starts to unlock his front door. He opens the door for Valdis to come inside "Mum, Dad I am home and I brought a guest home" he calle out . On the inside it was a nicely done home and the floors had carpet put down rather then a hard wood floor. But as the two got in a scampering of a four legged creature . Within an instant a red fox was sitting down looking at both Kail and Valdis., although it was looking at the young lady oddly on what to make of her.

Val nodded, if he managed to figure out a way of communication that couldn’t be tampered with by her father then she would be impressed. Short of anything magical she doubted he would be able to come up with one. Perhaps she would ask Granny if there was a way to communicate in unconventional means…either ask her or Nazo. He might know a way as well…then she wouldn’t have to use a d cell phone. So win win.

”If your worried about communication between you and myself then I will ask Nazo if there is another unconventional mean of communication it also wouldn’t hurt to ask granny. Between those two there is sure to be something that can be done.”

Valdis gazed at the house; it was much nicer than her old home. Though the view that this house had paled in comparison to her old home. She glanced up at him when he made a comment about his mother. Either his situation was similar to hers, or he was adopted, or it was a step mother of sorts. It was more likely one of the last two.

”Are you adopted? Or did your father remarry?”

She could however relate to the feeling; it was some time before Val accepted her father for what he was. But as long and taxing as the road was, her and her father’s relationship couldn’t be closer.

”My mother also enjoyed working outside; she loved to garden. She use to say ‘I grow plants for many reasons: to please my eye or to please my soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow.’ I have many fond memories of her working and singing in her garden…it makes me sad to know her years of work are destroyed.”


She looked on with sad eyes; she would give anything to have preserved at least one of her mother’s flowers. It was a shame she did not have the foresight to obtain one at the tender age that she had left her homeland. Though she pushed the thought from her head as they walked inside; which was equally pleasant as the outside. Her expression was replace with a look of mild curiosity. A mischievous grin spreading across her face.

”And She brought desserts!”
Val called out only second after Kail spoke. Though not soon after a furry figure scampered up; Vals eyes lit up and a large grin spread across her face.

”CUTE!”

She dropped down to her knees and placed the bag of desserts next to her. Instantly grabbing the cute fox into a hug. Val always got overly excited when she saw animals; which was why more often than not she got bit or scratched and then they ran away leaving a very sad and disappointed Val behind. Short story short Val loved animals but they didn’t love her.

An eerie silence would manifest between when Kail announced that he was home and...

"BAKA!" the shout comes from behind a corner as Killian passes it, as an abrupt swing from a wooden bokuto flies for the back of his head. Killian should have expected this, especially when he is coming home late with a guest of some sort. When Valdis looks, she will see a tall, well built and moderately curvy woman wearing a white sweater and black sweatpants with long pink hair in a ponytail viciously attacking Killian.

Kail turns to Valdis and sighs at her antics but gets into a thoughtful moment with the question on adoption or his father remarried. "In a way I am adopted but that will be a story for another time. Along with thoughts of the past" he said and saw Valdis run over to Aya and cuddle her and the fox had a look to say save me. "And that little lady is Aya.......Please don't crush her" he said and then felt something wrong. Normaly his mother would be waiting for him to ambush him. Then hears the loud cry of baka and his body reacts out of fear and muscle memory. His body swiftly turns to where the swing was coming from and brought out both of his hands and does a blade catch with both of his hands

Under normal circumstances the blow would hit home but with his earlier encounter with the youma and then with Valdis in his presnace. His body reacted faster then normal "Good evening mother, Sorry about the uninvited guest and being home late." he said trying to act as though if this was just a normal thing to constantly catch the sword when he got attacked. But most of the time he would get hit in the head by the blunt wooden sword. So on the inside Kail was sweating bullets as he cought the blade. Was it the fact that he was a Knight of Mars or just that he had a workout of his lifetime.

Val surprisingly let the past stay in the past; one would think she’d normally dive right into pestering for an answer. However she surprisingly did have limits, she too had memories she really didn’t wasn’t digging up. Val was instantly preoccupied by snuggling the adorable fox.

”Aya its nice to meet you my new furry friend!”

She giggled overjoyed with the fact that the fox wasn’t trying to run away.

”Wow two animals not running fear in one day! Not at all like that traitorous cat.”

Valdis stood, releasing the poor animal from her bear hug. She really just couldn’t control herself when she saw something cute like that. Although it wasn’t long before a nagging feeling forced Val to fall flat on her stomach narrowly avoiding being smacked by the incoming sword. She blinked and looked up from her position on the floor. Well that certainly was unexpected…but it made a large grin spread across her face. Kails mom just became the coolest adult she knew. Val stood up brushing the fur from her red leather jacket; gracefully picking up the bag of desserts.

”Good Evening Mrs. Lancaster; please accept these as an apology for returning your son to you so late.”

Val gave the woman her most charming smile. One that made all her fans week at the knees. After all she did say she would behave in front of his parents. Which meant she would be the most charming person she could be. That was the one plus side of having a politician as a father; she knew exactly how to act to win the favor of those who met her…that was when she felt like it.

The woman raised a brow at the fact that the sword was caught.

"Have you been practicing Kendo or something outside the house? Either you're getting better or I'm getting worse....however...." she says, dropping the grip on the bokuto and withdrawing a pair of tonfa that were tucked in her sweatpants, ducking down and aiming for his knees. "...you need to be aware of a sudden change of pace!" she shouts, attempting to knock Killian on his ass. Assuming Killian doesn't counter, she stands up straight and then turns her attention to Valdis, blinking in disbelief.

"Wow! You brought a girl home? This late? Hey dear! You can stop worrying now!" she says, the last couple of statements shouted to a hallway where a muffled half-asleep response was returned. She then turns to Valdis and bows slightly. "My, a kind offering..." she says, cramming the tonfa back into her sweats before putting the gift on a nearby table. "However I am slightly concerned...it is quite late and bringing a girl home only implies impure intentions. Killian you aren't up to no good are you?" she says, crossing her arms and looking at the redhead with a stern expression.

Kail sweatdrops at the sight of the tonfa coming out from her sweats and quickly flips the bokuto around to the handle and then was able to parry the attacks. "Lets just say I got warmed up from something earlier in the evening" he said as he was able to say something again from the quick assault. He turns to Valdis "This is my mother Chigusa Kazemori, and mother this is my guest Valdis Mortimer Ito" he said but then just looked slack jawed at the fact that the two were worried about his sexuality. He facepalm at that fact and just tried to get his compoture again to speak with his mother . But the fact that she was worried that he was going to do something indecent with her that just flabbergasted him to the point that he stuttered a bit. "M....m..mother please if I did you would kick my ass. This young lady had some very bad luck this evening. And its a very odd tale to tell" he said and saw Aya get out of Valdis's grasp and stuck close to her master for now.

"Well you do know that I can get lost in thought most of the time and I can wander off. Well when I got out of my haze, I saw a group of hoodlums circling Valdis with very unpure intentions on top of the fact that she was not well. So being my normal self I desided to give her a hand to try and send the gits packing. But a Covenant freak showed up and killed her manger, and causing the hoodlums to run. I took her hand and ran from the thing, as we were running some guy in red and black fought the monster. Either way we got away and took a breather at a near by restarunt, and had a bite to eat. As we did eat she was not feeling well and I offered our home since it was close. Valdis was there so she can back up on the events that happed" he said telling his tale. It was a very much edited story due to the fact that he was the one that fought the youma. There were a few changes but it was the truth for the most part. For Kail he rarely BS'ed anything to his mother.

Due to one of two things. One she was his only mother right now and did not want to disappoint her. And the other if she found what he told her did not fly or she did not belive him. Well there would be a ass kicking and would be battered and brused for several days. Kail had hoped that Valdis would go along with this story since they did not come up with a coverstory for what happened.

Yep …this woman was awesome…crazy and awesome. There was nothing like seeing a mother beat her child with a stick repeatedly. Valdis choked back a burst of giggles when his mother shouted about Kails sexuality. She was grateful for the black surgical mask she wore. Kails mother was going to be sorely disappointed to find out there relief was going to be short lived.

”It’s a pleasure to meet you”

When Kail introduced her he got a sharp elbow in the side. There was a reason she didn’t tact on the Ito part to everyone. A small glare was directed towards him as well…did he just want to make his job harder?

”Mortimer is just fine…The Ito part is tiresome….and not something I go tagging on for obvious reasons.”

A wicked glint came into her eyes when Mrs. Kazemori implied that Kails intentions were less than pure. Well she would just have to make this all the worse for him wouldn’t she. At that Val wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned her head against him while smiling out to his mother.

”Now doesn’t the whole meeting the others parents happen after intentions have gone past impure?”

Valdis batted her eyelashes in mock innocence. Although Kail jumped in stuttering. She released him from her hug and patted him on the cheek.

”Awww he’s adorable when he stutters…Do it again Mrs. Kazemori. Although if he doesn’t go completely red or nose bleed at last statement then you might need to start worrying about his sexuality again.”

Valdis giggled again; this was fun. Perhaps if she ever did have a child someday she would mess with them just like this. She had however taken pity on Kail and made it obvious to his mother she had just been teasing him a bit. During Kails explanation she was actually behaved; although the fact that she had just seen her manager killed by a covenant monster seemed a bit unbelievable….she was a little to upbeat to have just witnessed a death. That would have to be explained a little better.

”Well we don’t know if she was killed…She was captured; but we had started to take off at that point. When we looked back all we saw was big red fighting and no signs of her. Its possible she got away like the rest of us.”

Val played the concerned hopeful client well; it was well known if you got captured by the covenant you were less then likely to live. But it would make sense if Val were to try to convince herself that the manager tried to get away. It also would make sense if their stories didn’t perfectly align. After all it was a hectic moment.

”He did offer for me to come stay the night. My home is out of the city and a good way out in the woods. I commute here on the trains in the morning and often my work calls me to stay past the time when they shut down the train. Usually my manager will drive me home…but as circumstance has it…It would seem I was stuck. Soo long story short, here I am.”

Chigusa looks at Killian and Valdis with a stern expression, her blue eyes narrowing slightly as she took in what she was hearing. Her brow twitched a little. One had to admit that the entire storyline sounded like some kind of anime thing brought into real life. Plus the fact that this was supposedly the president's daughter. Her knuckles twitch slightly as she then looks at Killian with a stern expression.

"I know you are a writer. That sounds like something that was made up out of nowhere. So I am supposed to believe that you were out laddle daddle diddle daddling, came across a maiden in distress, watched her professional manager die from a Covenant monster that appeared out of nowhere, when a SUPERHERO appears and fights it off while you run away bravely taking Ms. Ito with you."

She sighs and then shakes her head at Killian.

"...If you met a girl and brought her home because it's late and especially cold then so be it...she can sleep in the guest room tonight, and if you so much as try to leave your room in the middle of the night to fool around, I'll be feeding the fox a piece of your anatomy in the morning." she says, then exhaling a little and looking at Valdis.

"Ms Ito, I trust that my house won't be put under suspicion of abducting the President's daughter by men in black suits or some nonsense yes?"

Kail just wanted to shoot himself as things went mildy good to down right bad. More so with her now hanging on to him like a floozy and it he was sure as hell did not expect this. Although he should have with this woman in general and just facepalmed since this was just bad. Then the questioning his prefrances was another moment where he would have done an anime styled faceplant into the ground. "Valdis I think your going a bit way to far into this " he said and then just accepted that he was not winning this at any time. When she was saying that her manager was captured then killed made him think that he over did it? He was not animated during that entire time he was pretty serious sounding. So that part perhaps he should have rethought that in general. Although what his mother thought on the other hand thought it was a load of BS. His mouth hung open at that the fact he made that up for a diffrant cover story. Kail just kept is boiling frustration down to a simmer and he just sighed at his mother.

The redhead carefuly selected his battle if he wanted to argue it with his mother or just suck it up. "I am not that Xion student you had that messed up that much. So whatever if you don't think the events were some sort of cover up for me to bang a female . Then your sorely mistaken, I know that your tough love act is to make me stronger. But this is a bit way too much, why would I take advantage of someone that is ill or that I just met" he said looking at his mother his tone was icy like the outside world. His eyes and facial expression was that of stone as he was serious. Kail then turns to Valdis. "Let me show you to your room" he said so that he could go to his room and just be in his own personal zone.

With his mother on top of that Valdis's antics he was getting rung ragged and just needed a few minutes to decompress and just get himself composed.
