Nazo is quiet at first when he hears Valdis' explanation on naming and her thought behind it. This was a rare show of true caring beneath the normal persona. The idea of a name was a word meant for identification, for things that had meaning. This was not something he thought for himself in the same sense that most would.

"...I see. I then concede for the moment, but reserve the right to assign my own name if and when the situation calls for it." he says, deciding to not elaborate any other thoughts that were going through his mind right now. He then exhales and snaps his fingers as a bolt of snow appears from nowhere and whaps Valdis in the forehead when she got indignant about being called crazy.

"Did I not say you had that gift? I meant the second one. I could sense the energy swirling within you in a similar pattern...it was clouded with chaos energy however and not the same as your natural energy." he says calmly. "That is why I questioned whether it was a negative feedback from exposure to Chaos Energy." he states, listening to her remark about what she saw in that vision. Behind the mask he frowned a little. Fortunately, his faceless mask hid his expression.

"Control...is not easy. If you could control it, you'd be omniscent and godlike. Even I only tap into the power when I have to, some visions are involuntary. It is as you might say Fate itself intervening in destiny, to change things that would turn disaster. Sending Solstice to gnaw the bags snapped the group of senshi out of the delusion that the youma could be saved when the sand fell upon it and revealed it's true self. Had you not shown up, Sailor Venus would likely be dead, and the best case scenario is her being the only fatality."



"...That is feedback. It is far too generic to mean anything. There are most certainly horrors in this world far more powerful than the couple you've seen so far." he says, holding his hand out as a small aura of energy manifests around it. Around them, an illusion is shown of hundreds of dead soldiers, the flag on their uniforms American with a small number of Covenant soldiers killing more nearby. A horrific youma hammers forth, standing fifteen feet high with huge forearms, mounting itself by pushing it's fists into the ground as a way to stop itself from moving back...opening it's mouth as dense black energy accumulates, then shoots forth in an overwhelmingly powerful beam that flies thousands of yards away, striking the back line artillery, officers, and support structures on the battlefield with the force of a powerful bomb.

"...Have you considered why your Covenant don't do a full scale assault on Tokyo like they do in other regions? They have objectives that require this area to be mostly intact...the Sapporo Obelisk is just a backup plan..." he says ominously, then looking at Valdis when she asked about a 'history lesson'.

"Just tell me something. Do you think that this world was originally meant to be like this? A desperate struggle for survival against forces more powerful than normal humans can comprehend?"

She smiled, glad that he chose to keep the name she gave him. Though she did give him an odd look on the statement of giving himself a name…it didn’t work like that…a name was something given to you by others. But she won one battle she wasn’t going to push it. Just as she had that thought she got hit in the face by a very unexpected blast of snow, causing her to slip and fall on her butt.

”Oww…my butts getting abused today”

She wiped the snow off her face and then dug the melting pieces out of her robe. After being in a nice warm spring getting pelted with snow was very uncomfortable.

”Haven’t I suffered enough abuse today, why go and freeze me. Seriously I’m not wearing a bra under this robe why throw something that melts…Do I need to get Granny in here cause I will yell that I need an adult.”

She blinked when he started talking about odd energies and suddenly felt very violated…she didn’t like foreign energies within her without her permission. Though she did listen up when he explained about how visions work..Apparently they could be controlled on a very small degree. Though she was surprised she ended up making a difference. A large difference…and visions weren’t set in stone. This was something that did bring her a bit of hope, and a small smile to her face.

”And you told me to stay out of trouble.”

What happened next was odd…so you could project visions as well…wonder if she could do that. She could see that as being both fun, and useful. Thought the vision she was being shown was anything but fun. Although it did cause her brain to start whirling just as it had when she saw the ice youma.

”Someone needs to get behind it and get in-between its shoulder blades. Its shape is to odd it wouldn’t be able to reach anything there…that or find a way to shove its own attack into the back of its throat and make its on attack turn against itself…or find a way to take out the arms most likely at the joints near the elbows. That seems to be what it is using to support itself.”

Val was brought out of her mutterings to herself when Nazo spoke. Although her mutterings showed if Valdis could ever be taken seriously she could show some potential in redirecting attacks to where they need to go. Though fat chance of that happening. Valdis looked up at Nazo with an arched eyebrow; of course she had wondered that.

”Well…I’ve considered the possibility that their leaders are located here and if that was the case then they want something that’s in this city. Also since my father’s armies are failing so horrible I’m also considering the possibility there are rats in his very own organization…though he won’t listen to that theory…I got blown off when I mentioned it this morning…Though the more I think of it the more I’m sure it’s a fact. Why would they attack their own army if they were in charge of it. Now that you mention the obalisks there back up plan it makes me think it all the more. If they were to be discovered they could just use the negative energy from the oblalisks to boost themselves and crush us without so much as batting an eyelash.”

She rested her head on her knees which were pulled up to her chest; it was nice to voice her suspicions to someone who wouldn’t brush her off as a paranoid whack job. When he asked her about the present.

”Well from snippets of what you along with the fact that visions of the future can me altered I’m grasping the concept that this world has many alternate realities. Everything is swayed by others actions; if fate does play a role then perhaps the realities aren’t as numerous as one would think and this was the original plan all along. Time to me seems like it zig zags rather than our linier perspective of it….Whenever I begin to think of this I get a head ache. To sum up my response in a simple three word answer is I don’t know. Do you?”

"Yes, but a monster like that will have support in other members...in military conflicts they often don't leave their artillery unguarded, otherwise small units approaching could easily take it out since they could penetrate the weapon's minimum range." Nazo says, dismissing what was quite frankly whining coming from Valdis about being cold, suffering, and summoning what she calls granny to deal with him. "But that tactical approach is a good start, perhaps reading some strategy literature would serve you well.

He then chuckles darkly and looks at her, standing up straight.

"...There are most likely elements in the military organization that are causing problems for the battle against the Covenant. I don't have any specifics, but I will let you in on a secret...Luna and Artemis, the two mau cats that provide advice to the senshi and knights, were kept in a cryogenic stasis in one of the bases.It was up to me to...liberate them, but the question is how did they get there?" he says, then pausing when she made her remark about the reality.

"An interesting idea, but there is a balance between free will and destiny. Once upon a time, the world remained normal, but something changed the past and allowed evil to 'win' for lack of a better term. In the original timeline, the Senshi were different people who would have come into their power about thirty years ago, but something caused them to not be capable of turning into senshi now. Would you believe me if I told you that the Priestess would have been one of them?"

Perhaps reading strategy books will be useful in the future; she was sure her father’s office would have quite a few. She would infiltrate his office next chance she had.

”And perhaps you can take a break from being dark and implodey to play some strategy board games with me…servants won’t play with me anymore”

Her face went blank as he let her in on a little secret..

”Soooo that cat that I tried to take home with the bald spot on her head was a mau… and she tried to give me the slip…how rude....and wait that was you?”

A huge grin spread across her face, her fathers reaction to that had given her entertainment for HOURS! She humped up and gave him another hug, entertainment that good deserved a reward.

"OOhhhhh my Daddy was so pissed after that...hehe he Reeeally wants to meet you."

Valdis eyebrows scrunched up in thought as he continued. Releasing him from her hug.

”My guess would be that someone in the military somehow knew what the mau cats were capable of…I mean if these cats show up and these senshi and knights pop up, then that would be bad news for the covenant…So someone would have had to know what was going to happen before hand”

Val blinked, her face blanked…and her eye slowly began twitching as the picture of granny in one of those sailor suits. That was a horrifying image…

”Why did you give me that image Nazo…so cruel…”

She shivered, tut it was a strange thought to think the senshis would have been other people. Though Granny may have made a good one considering how much she already was able to do. Which brought her to the next questions she had.

”Nazo tell me more about the senshi; how many are there? How do they pop up and how exactly are the mau cats involved? Also do you ever remove that mask...”

"...I'm sure he does want to meet me, unfortunately that cannot be allowed to happen for at least ten obvious reasons.." he says with a bit of a shrug. "...And I believe their capture may predate the Covenant's appearance substantially...the original senshi were supposed to manifest in the eighties I believe, give or take a bit...the Priestess would have had to be around the same age as the other senshi...mid to late teens. Interesting, isn't it? If only I had a true eye of god that could reveal all the answers..." he says nonchalantly with a shrug.

"The senshi...typically one corresponds to each planet of notoriety in a solar system. Their powers will vary: if you were to go to another solar system, there might not be a senshi who can manipulate fire or pure soul energy, but one who can shoot out magnetism or some other mess. They pop up simply by being the chosen guardian of a given planet, and as simple as it sounds that is all there is to it. They are a powerful raw energy until they awaken the first time when they learn to control it...which is why youma seem instantly drawn to them when they begin to appear here. Hopefully, the Mercury or other senshi haven't been outright killed by the enemy yet." he says with a small shrug, then laughs slightly when she mentions the mask.

"No, I do not remove this mask. I'm not sure if it's even physically possible for me to do so...it is a way my power is contained, without the mask it would overflow and cause problems of some sort." he says, then leans back against a pillar.

”What are the 10 reasons?”

As he explained Val looked up at him with an amused smile on her face. His speech patterned changed slightly.

”I’m surprised a Saaa wasn’t in that little speech. Wouldn’t your normal speech pattern be Saaa if only I had a true eye of god ect ect….. Saa I think normal speech patterns are beginning to rub off on you.”

She mimicked his shoulder shrug with a grin. Though she was interested in hearing more about the senshi.

”So youma are drawn to them…And I just happen to have wonderful luck showing up right where youma are popping up…Although I’ve been stuck in the middle of a youma up rising before the senshi began to appear…”

Val wondered why the hell she was always right smack dab in the middle of these Youma pop ups…Although she did have odd powers….which brought her to another question.

”Nazo Granny says it’s exceedingly rare for someone with powers to be outside of the covenant….While I didn’t think of it at first now that you said Granny was suppose to be a senshi…and all the others with powers are senshi …where does that put me and you? Are you aligned with a planet?”

Her eyebrows shot up when she actually heard a laugh come from him. Although the mask did make her slightly curious to what his looks were.

”How do you know it would cause problems if you’ve never taken it off before…considering it’s never seen the light of day I bet you’ve got flawless skin.”

Valdis slightly wondered where granny went off to, considering she left her to change a bit ago. But she really wasn’t complaining; Nazo was one of the few people she felt she could talk to on the same level without really having to explain herself to much. Usually she only got that type of conversation with Rosa. Though her train of thought was interrupted by a doom and gloom poem, one that seemed to hold an eerie sense of foreboding.
”Those would make nice lyrics. Perhaps I may work them into a song”

Behind the mask, Nazo twitched a little at her remark and her ridicule about his speaking pattern. He was slightly out of it today after a particularly intense clash with Scorpio and much was on his mind. "Ahh well usually bashing a Zodiac's brains in usually throws me off for a few hours, I do apologize that I failed to meet your expectations." he says with a half bow meant more for a bit of sarcastic humor.

"It is rare, but not unheard of. You don't have to be a senshi to have powers. Yours are just natural. As far as my own powers, what does it matter where they come from? They could come from the depths of the Sun itself, and my presence here will set off a supernova that will burn away the impurity of the Covenant once the Senshi are in place." he says, with an exaggerated evil laugh chuckle.

"The mask will come off one day, but it is not this day." he says, then shrugging a little at the remark about the Lyrics. "As long as I get 15% of the sales as Royalties." he says, then yawning behind the mask and stretching a little. "The question is, why do you find my presence so welcome? Most are intimidated by one such as I."

A laugh escaped her lips; as she leaned back a little waving her hand as she accepted the apology.

”Saa…I suppose the apology will have to suffice. However I expect you to be back to normal by the morning, don’t disappoint me”

Valdis grinned up at him, she may have been sore and exhausted but she still had enough energy to tease him a bit. It was all the more fun since he played along with it.

”You said they were aligned with planets, the suns a star, not a planet. Or is there going to be senshi’s associated with stars as well? As for why it matters it’s for curiosity sake.”

Valids pushed herself to her feet, sitting on the floor was beginning to make her butt numb. She rubbed while making a odd face of discomfort….pins and needles in your buttox was a very odd sensation.

”10%”

When asked why she liked hanging out with him Valdis paused. A thoughtful expression crossed her features. She really wasn’t intimidated by him…not in the slightest. He amused her and aroused her curiosity.

”I guess I’m not easily intimidated….I like creepy things. Your personality is pleasing; and you arouse my sense of curiosity. There are very few people in this world whom I feel actually understand my sense of humor. Or at least has the balls to play along with it.”

She tapped her chin and looked him over; he really wasn’t intimidating at all…at least not to her.

”That and you look like a giant floating snuggie with a mask, it makes me want to cuddle up next to a fire with a nice book.”

"I will not only not disappoint you, I will surprise you as well." he says with an ominous sense of foreboding. "You are planning a sleep over with your friends yes? Perhaps I can help to make it...interesting." he says, a couple of chuckles emitted from beneath the mask. There was some amusement to be had at the expense of the senshi...mostly harmless.

Emphasis on mostly.

"As far as I know, there are no senshi that associate with stars...however I suppose it's not impossible in other solar systems. If there were a Sun Senshi I'm more than certain that type of power would be obvious. And perhaps I am merely the Grim Reaper, Death given human incarnation form. Or a horseman of the apocalypse..." he says, being deliberately vague whether for amusement or more serious purposes not obvious.

"12.5" he says in remark about the counter-offer. "Pleasing...interesting. I have never gone out of my way to be especially sociable, though I suppose in some ways I find you interesting as well." he says in a casual, half-teasing tone which would leave what he really meant open to debate in Valdis' mind. Ahh the games that he plays. The comment about 'cuddling next to the fire' made his brow twitch a little at first. He wasn't sure what a 'snuggie' was...but he had a feeling it was something obviously disarming.

"I'd prefer a beach personally." he says randomly, deciding to play along with it a little.

Ominous foreboding her ass; that sounded exciting! Her face lit up and her eyes widened with hope and wonder. It was easy to imagine little sparkles around her, that one statement was like Christmas for her. She could imagine so much fun with Nazo’s abilities. This was going to be the best sleep over EVER!

”Really! You promise! I would love that! You were invited anyway but that just makes it all the better!.Your toe tag is in my bag at home.”

She giggled and clapped her hands, the very picture of excitement. This party just got so much better. After all she had been planning on telling ghost stories and then letting there imaginations get the best of them. Now she could truly terrify them!.

”If you were a horseman of the apocalypse then you would be helping the covenant, not the senshi and you’d have a horse not a ferret. How is solstice? I think I scared the shit out of her when I jumped off the building with her in my pocket.”

Val smiled at his counter over then nodded; she supposed that number was fair.

”Deal”

Val shrugged in response to the statement he thought he hadn’t been very sociable.

”That’s why I find it pleasing. If you were more sociable you’d be like little mouse…So what may not be pleasing to others it may be pleasing to me.”

She fluttered her eyelashes and gave a look of false modesty. She very well knew that she was interesting how could she not be. At first the comment of the beach disarmed her; she really was just talking about snuggling up with a normal snuggie. Not actually making a comment about cuddling up to Nazo. An odd new sensation bubbled up within her…sort of like the momentary modesty from earlier. Only she slightly liked this feeling; it was more mischievous. A small grin spread across her face.

”The beach is a bit cold; but if it was warm with wouldn’t need the snuggie.”

She gave a bit of a small tug on his robe; this was slightly fun. Val however did note grannies absence was fairly long….she would have to be showing back up at some point….and seeing how she was the supervising adult here, she should be taught that leaving Val alone for a long period of time was never well advised.

”You know, You and I seem to share the same sense of humor. Grannies been gone for a bit; she must trust you quite a bit considering she left you in here while I was still butt naked. I want to see her bug out a bit. While she expects stunts out of me, she doesn’t seem to expect them of you.”

She leaned her head against him, a wicked grin on her face.

"Mildly traumatized and asleep right now. The little buggers need so much sleep. She likes to weave her way into a corner of my cloak just above the cushion on my shoulder where I removed a plate to make it more comfortable." he says with a shrug, the small animal very happy to have been able to return to it's safer place after the battle and havoc was over for the moment. Valdis' antics were quite frankly terrifying to a small animal, even one as intelligent as Solstice.

"But the Beach is where I do some of my best thinking. The desolate and quiet interrupted only by occasional fire from a naval cruiser far away creates a nice peace of mind. Eventually this planet will hopefully defrost and bake like a normal, good little habitable planet should." he says, then exhaling a sigh of 'what the hell Valdis' when she mentioned the trust thing with the Priestess.

"She is aware of my purpose and that I have a higher calling than trying to share my anatomy with a curvaceous young woman." he says nonchalantly, then looking at the door expectantly. Surely enough, a moment later the Priestess emerged and then Nazo decided to reach around Valdis' waist, taking her cue to make the Priestess annoyed. The armored hands lightly touched her waist.

"But Valdis, not in such a place where others might walk in.." he says. In annoyance, the Priestess threw an Ofuda straight at Valdis' head, somehow suspecting she was behind this. Afterward, she threw her a broom.

"Since you're here, you can go about your temple duties. Your stunt in showing up here in a near-death state put the day's routine substantially behind."

”Glad she wasn’t to traumatized, She was very useful with shredding those sand bags. Wouldn’t have been able to mess with the youma without her. So I guess I owe her a piece of a strawberry as a thanks.”

She giggled as she actually got a reaction from him.

”Ah but as someone else advised me one must take time for recreational and relaxation time. Does your higher calling deny you this time? After all I doubted it was your higher calling to come check to see if I was ok.”

As the door opened Val was amused as Nazo instantly played along; resting his hands on her waist. She leaned into him while wrapping her arms under his hood and around his neck, just to complete the scene. Not long after ‘SLAP’ that lovely and becoming oh so familiar sting of an ofuda. Said Ofuda burst into purple flames not even moment after it touched her head. Val released her grip and turned to the priestess rubbing the back of her head. Valdis caught the broom in her other hand and shrugged her shoulders.

”Saaa ‘tis my fat to be blamed; although….”

Val starred at the broom; not a second after it two was ablaze in purple flame. Well a small piece of it was but she’d take that as a victory.

”HA Granny, Nazo! look what I learned to do!”

With a spin of the handle she dunked the broom into the purification pool, successfully fizzling out the flame with no damage done. She figured out what exactly what the feeling was that she felt every time those Ofudas hit her. Youma’s butts would never be safe again! This earned an evil chuckle. With that she turned back to Nazo and winked.

”Bye bye sweet pea, I’ll expect we’ll continue this on the beach in the near future”

She waved as she left the room, putting little extra sway into her hips. Just to piss Granny off. Though like a good girl even if she was exhausted and sore Val did go to do her duties and clean the shrine….

Val sighed as she went outside….it was freaking freezing and she was still damp but she began to sweep the snow off to the side. If she got another cold she’d make sure to sneeze on granny once or twice. But she smiled to herself; despite almost dying…and excruciating pain she went through, today was a good day.

As something caught on fire from Valdis' touch, the Priestess stared at her in disbelief. Nazo kind of brought his hand to his mask and shook it for a moment. This wasn't exactly the sign that he wanted to see right now. Hopefully it was a side effect of the deep poisoning that she had received and not some kind of tapping into dark energies of some sort. He follows Valdis out of the room while the Priestess was fuming, and then picks up Valdis abruptly in a princess style after approaching her from behind and taking her back inside.

"...It's too cold for that. Just lay off the dark energy antics for now. Focus on sweeping inside, she didn't specify outside or in...and get a dry uniform on." he says with a slight sigh, before then moving back into the room with Priestess Hino, speaking with her for a few moments on what this meant. If Valdis creeped behind like she was highly likely to do, she would overhear bits and pieces.

"...Are you certain you got all of the poison out?"

"As much as I can be certain. These things usually take more than one session."

"..I see...well allow her to rest, I will operate on her behalf if needed."

"It's more to reinforce the fact she needs to act with firm discipline even when she has hard conditions against her."

Valdis was fully expecting Nazo to leave after she had left, so she wasn’t expecting to suddenly be swept off her feet by him. It caused a mini flail that consisted of her almost dropping her broom and while at the same time clinging to his robe. It was a rare moment that Val herself was startled and the look on her face was hilarious. She blinked up at him…her eyes wide as saucers. Was picking her up like a princess becoming a thing lately? Last time it had been some male whom left her in the middle of the woods blind…so at least this situation was preferable. Vals composure was quickly returned and she quirked an eyebrow at him.

”What did you want a good bye kiss?”

She allowed herself to be carried back inside; his robe was a nice warm contrast to being outside. Which caused her to snuggle up to it; no wonder solstice liked it so much.

”I wouldn’t have figured out those dark antics if it wasn’t for the consistent slapping of ofuda that sting like a bitch. Between Granny and her twin giddy gits I’m getting hit with them on a consistent bases.….mmm you are like a giant snuggie ….and I’m not even allowed to retaliate since I promised granny I would behave.”

Despite the surprise pick up; Val found it quite pleasant. Being off her feet was a nice relief. But it wasn’t long after she was back on them again. She released her grip and brushed the snow off the bottom of her robe. Though Nazo defiantly seemed to be taking a greater interest in her well being today. She waited until he walked off before doing her whole sneaking bit. He did say to focus on cleaning inside after all.

Val frowned as she listened….she had to go through that bath again?! Well that was going to suck…. Although it was sweet of Nazo to offer to take over her duties…especially with him busy with his higher calling and all. She wondered why Nazo was going through such lengths…it was a bit odd. But it was obvious the priestess really didn’t know her a bit. Val had already learned this lesson, and she had learned it on her own and learned it well. She took that discipline with her to work every day; she wasn’t a normal high school girl just coming into responsibility. She had been taking the giddy gits ofudas with out complaining and doing her duties.

At this point Val didn’t feel right just eavesdropping. So she opened the door; a frown on her delicate features. Her demeanor no longer held any of her mischievous antics and her gaze locked on with the priestess.

”You insult me.”

She walked further into the room leaning the broom on the wall.

”Just because my behavior on a normal basis differs from yours it does not mean I approach things with a lack of discipline... What I set out to do always gets done and I mean always. If your waiting for me to lie down and act like one of your good little puppies you’re going to be sorely disappointed.”

Really was she just going to get smacked with ofudas until she began to behave like a giddy git?

”I am here to nurture my good feelings am I not? Explain to me how smacking me with ofuda is accomplishing that. While it has taught me something useful its obviously not the direction either one of you wanted me to take.”

Val sighed knowing this whole thing was going to piss Granny off…and since Nazo had been kind to her she would give him this. Pushing her annoyance to the side she decided to give granny an offer that perhaps would make this …..arrangement easier on the both of them.

”I am aware I am difficult to be around and difficult to understand. I propose you and I have a sit down and we have a nice long chat. Test me if you will. Ask me questions and I give my word I will answer them as honest as I am capable of. You’ve been quick to jump to a judgment on me without taking time to understand me. You still go off your judgment from when I was younger, and yes I was a hell of a brat back then and I very well had my reasons for it. I hate laying things out flat and simple but in order for this farce to work then I’m willing to do it. But things cannot continue with how they’ve been going.”

Val was going to give the priestess a chance to meet her on middle ground. This whole thing was arranged by Nazo so obviously it was important to him and to her own surprise Val had formed some sort of attachment to the large snuggie. Thus why she would actually make an effort to make it work. Despite her dislike for it.

"I think you might have." Nazo said in response to her first remark about a kiss before the discussion with the priestess began. When Valdis stepped in and made her opinion known on the subject, both Nazo and the Priestess were quiet. When she finished speaking, the Priestess stood up and narrowed her eyes with a stern glare.

"...Dark Power corrupts absolutely." she says firmly, looking at her and maintaining her stern glare. It was clear that Valdis came up to a button, spun around on her heels, and pressed it. The Priestess withdrew an Ofuda, but instead of throwing it at Valdis like she may have expected at first, she simply looks at it.

"A simple slip of paper has great power to ward off evil when stated with the proper chant and written ink. However there are limits to this ability. When the natural world transcends to that which is unnatural, then there becomes a diminishing effect. After a certain point, it takes a profound number of these to have any effect." she says, going off on a seemingly random tangent. She then sighs a little and starts walking towards one of the side doors of the main hall, a path that was very rarely taken at the shrine.

"Someone very close to me thought that he could tame the dark power when it began to proliferate." she states as she walks, obviously urging for Valdis to follow. Nazo seemed to have an idea of where this was going and simply followed behind the two.

"This individual had over twenty years of training at the temple, and believed that through his stubbornness, force of will, and good nature, he could cleanse the power and find a good use for it. It seems to be a noble ideal at first...it seems possible on paper when an exorcism can remove the taint from a spirit and leave it pure once more..." she states, going outside and walking down an shoveled pathway with precision, never mind the cold or the light snow that was falling.

"However...in spite of his efforts...he failed.
